I’ve got a quick post today, as my dear, sweet, NON-COMMUNICATIVE husband informed me this morning that we’re headed out of town TODAY rather than tomorrow, as I had originally thought. So, needless to say I have a few things to take care of before we hit the road. Ugh! I had such big plans for today, including doing some fun stamping. Guess that’ll have to wait until we get home on Monday.
This is for another super fun CARDS Magazine Blog Challenge – which is to create a “punny” card. And once again it has inspired me to ink up another one of my never used Papertrey Ink sets called “My Punny Valentine.” Instead of using the scalloped oval stamp provided in the set, I cut out a scalloped oval using some PTI wool felt. It cut on my Cuttlebug like a dream!! The finished size of this sweet little cutie is 4.25” x 4.25” – don’tcha just love little mini cards?!!! I do!! I was also inspired by one of Maren's sketches (on pg. 46) from the Paper Crafts Go-To Sketches issue. Such an amazing resource when you're stumped for a layout!!
STAMPS: My Punny Valentine (Papertrey Ink) INK: Versamark (Tsukineko) PAPER: Kraft CS (PTI), Bitty Dots DP (PTI) ACCESSORIES: Scalloped Oval Nestabilities, Circle Classic Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Pure Poppy Buttons (PTI), White Scrapper’s Floss (Karen Foster), Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!), Bitty Button (Stampin’ Up!), Black and White Embossing Powder (Zing/American Crafts), White Wool Felt (PTI), Gingham Ribbon (PTI)
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope your holiday weekend is fun and restful. God Bless all our troops for always protecting our freedoms!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was nice and relaxing . . . my favorite kind of weekend.
It’s ABC Toys & Crafts Tuesday, and today I’m here to share a sweet little card using one of the cutest images I think I’ve ever worked with. This week, the ABC Toys & Crafts Design Team is featuring some of the amazing images from Stampavie, including this image designed by Helz Cuppleditch called Flower Planters. I broke out my Copic Markers to color it up, something I haven’t done in quite a while. Boy, it felt good to play with those babies again. I adore the detail in these Stampavie images. And check out that adorable little water can charm – isn’t it perfect for this?!
STAMPS:Flower Planters (Stampavie/Helz Cuppleditch), Flower Garden Sentiments (PTI) INK: Tuxedo Black (Memento) PAPER: White CS (Neenah), Spring Rain CS (PTI), Green Apple CS (Poptone), Jubilee DP (Memory Box) ACCESSORIES: Janome Sew Mini, Copic Markers, Rectangle Classic Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug, 3D Dots (EK Success), Lace (JoAnn’s), Spring Rain Gingham Ribbon (PTI), Glue Dots, Chartreuse Button (PTI), Scrapper’s Floss (Karen Foster), Water Can Charm (Charm Gallery/Michael’s), Inkssentials White Gel Pen (Ranger)
In celebration of the Stampavie feature this week, Julie is offering free standard shipping on all Stampavie products (use Discount Code FREESH529 on checkout). Sa-WEET!!
That’s it for me today!! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to be back later this week with more stamping goodies. Have a great day!
Hi Peeps!
Happy Friday!! Just popping in to share the card I made for the CARDS Magazine blog challenge. This week, we were challenged to create something using berries. Big, fat berries. I used three different Papertrey Ink sets, none of which had ever been inked up before today. Is that bad? Yeah, that’s bad. So thank you, Paige, for the inspiration and challenge to finally ink up some very neglected stamps!! The leaves and vine image is from the Turning A New Leaf set; the berries are from the Green Thumb set, and the sentiment is from the My Punny Valentine. Cute, huh?
STAMPS:Turning A New Leaf, Green Thumb and My Punny Valentine (Papertrey Ink) INK: Spring Moss and Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink) PAPER: White CS (Neenah), Sweet Blush CS (PTI), Polka Dot Parade DP (PTI), Berry Sorbet CS (PTI) ACCESSORIES: Janome Sew Mini, Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!), Spring Moss Saddle Stitch Ribbon (PTI), Berry Sorbet Button (PTI), Embroidery Floss
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Me? I’m going shoe shopping today, and maybe going out to lunch with my BFF. Can you say Cheesecake Factory? Yummmy!!! Saturday involves a hang-out sesh with my sister at the BINGO parlor. Oh yeah!!
Back today with another challenge mix. The latest challenge over at the Impression Obsession blog is to create a “friend” card. One of my most favorite things in my life is to mix coffee with friends, especially coffee, friends and stamping!! Now THAT’S my idea of a good time!! LOL This card will also be submitted for the Card Patterns Sketch 64. Both challenges have prizes at stake. Crossing my fingers!
STAMPS:Espresso (Impression Obsession), Hot Stuff (My Favorite Things) INK: Rich Cocoa (Memento) PAPER: Egg Drop Soup DP (Jilli Bean Soup), Mini Gingham DP (A Muse), White CS (Neenah), Raspberry Fizz CS (PTI), Green Apple CS (Poptone) ACCESSORIES: Orange Fizz Satin Ribbon (PTI), Stampin Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!), Janome Sew Mini, Copic Markers, Self-Adhesive Rhinestones (Icon), Ribbon Tag (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug, Double Embossed Dotted Lace Edger Punch (EK Success)
It’s another sunny Seattle day – NOT! But I’m going to try to put this crappy, rainy day to good use and get some more stamping done. Thanks for stopping by today!
I’m back today with a card that I’ve made in response to a couple of challenges. This card satisfies Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 30 and Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge 74. Oh how I love to combine challenges into one submission!!
I think I’ve mentioned a time or two that I live in Arizona in the winter. We have some of the most gorgeous winter sunsets I’ve ever laid eyes on. So when I saw the color challenge using pink and orange, I immediately thought of the Arizona winter sunsets. The sun rays in the You’re Dandy clear set from Practicing Creativity worked famously!! It was so fun to mix the two different colors with the two different sized rays. The hot air balloons are from the Look Up! set, also from Practicing Creativity. We almost always see hot air balloons floating off in the distance on those beautiful winter evenings. If I weren’t so afraid of heights, I be on one of those babies some day. But for now, that ain’t happenin’! LOL I was also inspired by THIS card by Dawn McVey.
That’s it for me today. I’m meeting up with my high school girlies tonight – can’t wait to see their beautiful faces and have some laughs. Thanks for stopping by!!
Hope your Tuesday is going great!! Just popping in today to share my ABC Toys & Crafts card. This week the DT is featuring Crafty Secrets stamp sets, and Julie (the owner of ABC Toys & Crafts) has marked all Crafty Secrets stamps down 15%. Bonus!!
Today’s card features Kitchen Basics by Crafty Secrets. This set includes some super cute images, and I love the vintage feel that they all have. So vintage, in fact, that they don’t even need to be colored. I used some Nook & Pantry DP (Basic Grey) because I thought the vintage look coincided with the vintage look of the focal images. I stamped the fork, knife and spoon images using two different Memento pads – I placed all three images on my clear block, and inked them up with a combination of Pear Tart and Dandelion. This created the perfect color of green to match the background DP perfectly!! I love it when that happens. If it didn’t match, I would’ve had to double up on my meds! LOL Once I stamped the utensils on the main image panel, I then stamped the sentiment (from the What’s Cooking? clear stamp set by Hero Arts) on top of that using Rich Cocoa ink. I added some stitching with my Janome Sew Mini, and wrapped the main image panel with Rustic Button Twine.
I really love this stamp set – I can see it making some beautiful dinner party invitations, maybe embossing on a darker cardstock in silver or gold. Ohhhhh . . . I feel like that would be so pretty, don’t you?!!
Julie is not only offering a 15% discount on all Crafty Secrets products through May 22nd (use Discount Code CS1622), she’s also giving away some Martha Stewart punches on the store blog. Check out all the details of that giveaway HERE. I also noticed that some of the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies have arrived in the store – very cool stuff!!
That’s it for me today. I hope to be back later on this week with more crafty shares. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
If you’ve stumbled upon my blog this morning, then I should tell you that you’ve visited at the perfect time! Today we’re celebrating Waltzingmouse Stamps’ First Birthday with a very special blog waltz!!
The theme this month is birthdays – perfect, right?!! Well, I loved the theme so much, I made TWO cards. This is my first. I have loved the images in the Sewing Box – Hugs set since I first laid eyes on it. Every single image in this set is faux blanket stitched. Love that!! I’ll list the supplies used for each card below, but I feel it’s important to point out that these sweet images are so fun to play with. I stamped the leaves onto two different colors of felt and then cut them out. The flowers and birdie are stamped onto Fly A Kite and Thrift Shop DP to carry that vintage feel throughout. The sentiment is from the Sewing Box – Hugs set, too. Here’s a shot of the inside of the card, too. I used an SRM sticker – easy, peasy!
My second birthday card uses two different Waltzingmouse Stamps sets – Off Beat Backgrounds and L’il Buddies. Banners are hot right now, and I wanted to create one to celebrate the WMS First Birthday! I stamped each of the backgrounds from Off Beat Backgrounds and punched them out with my handy dandy Fiskars triangle punch. I adhered the triangles to some 1/8” ribbon, and then adhered the banner to the card front. The sentiment is from L’il Buddies. A bit of cloud DP, some stitching, a couple of buttons and voila’ – you’ve got yourself another birthday card!
I can’t believe it’s only been one year ago that I first stumbled upon Waltzingmouse Stamps. Claire Brennan is the owner of this very fun company. Claire cares very much for her customers, and has the kind of integrity, both as a business woman and as a person, that is second to none. She adores anything Christmas-related, and her kind spirit oozes out of her sweet images. Just so you know, I’m not part of the WMS DT, and have not been compensated to participate in this blog waltz. What I say here is from my heart, and from my first-hand experience. When I tell you that Claire Brennan and Waltzingmouse Stamps are exceptional, I tell you this from the bottom of my heart.
Happy First Birthday to Claire and Waltzingmouse Stamps!! Wishing you many more to come – please know that I’ll be your biggest fan as long as you’re around!!
If you’d like to play along with this months’ waltz, just click on the Waltzing Mouse badge at the top of my post. It’ll take you to Claire’s blog, where you’ll find all the details of today’s waltz.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Tuesday to you!! I had such a wonderful weekend. As you know, my grandson was born on Friday, and we got to spend quite a bit of time with him. I know I’m prejudiced, but he is pretty much the cutest baby I’ve ever seen! We also celebrated my daughter, Amy’s, graduation from college this weekend. Plus, we had the added bonus of Mother’s Day in the mix, too! I hope your weekend was as special as mine was.
It’s ABC Toys & Crafts Tuesday at my blog today. And this week, the Design Team is showcasing one of the many wonderful stamp lines that ABCT&C carries – My Cute Stamps! You may recall that this line is one of my all time favorite stamp companies. The images just make me smile, and the quality of the stamps is outstanding!! I used two different My Cute Stamps sets – Little Forest Friends and Night Owl. Both of these sets have darling images, and make adorable baby cards!! I used my Square Classic and Scalloped Nestabilities to cut out the image panel, and my Copic Markers to color the owl’s face. My daughter has received so many wonderful baby gifts, so I’m sure she’ll be able to put this card to use.
If you love these stamps, you can get them from ABC Toys & Crafts – and you can get 15% off the price of any My Cute Stamps if you use Discount Code MCS1510 when you check out. Isn’t that great?!!
That’s it for me today. I’m off to help my daughter with the baby today. Just can’t get enough of that sweet little man. Thanks for stopping by – have a great day!
Just wanted to pop in really quick to share pictures of my new grandson, Brecken Mathew. He was born yesterday afternoon, and needless to say, we are completely and utterly smitten with this little man. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz., and is 20 3/4 inches long. He has lots of dark hair, and so far has a very sweet disposition. I could gush all over the place about what a perfectly sweet little baby he is, but I’ll save that for another day. I just leave you with these fun pictures of Grandma Karolyn, Grandma Debbie, and Auntie Amy with our darling boy. Thanks for letting me gush.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful mothers out there! I hope your day is wonderful and that your children honor you for the beautiful women that you are. I’ll be back soon with something crafty . . . after my arms are too tired from rocking babies! LOL
Also, my daughter is at the hospital in labor . . . I'm gonna have a grandson very, very soon!! I'm off to the hospital, too, so I'll be back soon with pics!! Have a great day!
Hi Peeps!
Another productive day in the stamp room today – love when that happens. I wanted to participate in this week’s CARDS Blog Challenge, which was to create a Mother’s Day Card, and the Caardvarks sketch challenge – you could choose one of two sketches. This is the sketch that I chose.
STAMPS: Worn Damask (B Line Designs), La Letter (Hero Arts), Damask Butterfly (Memory Box), Women of Life (Papertrey Ink) INK: Bamboo Shoots (Memento), Versamark (Tsukineko) PAPER: Kraft CS (Papertrey Ink), Melon Mambo CS (Papertrey Ink), Spring Moss CS (Papertrey Ink), Vintage Cream CS (Papertrey Ink) ACCESSORIES: Three Butterfly Punch (Martha Stewart Crafts), Janome Sew Mini, Clear Embossing Powder (Zing/American Crafts), Lace (May Arts), Grosgrain Ribbon (May Arts), Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!), Champagne Self-Adhesive Pearls (Kaiser Craft)
That’s it for me today, I think. Off to the hair salon! Have a great day, and thanks so much for stopping by today!
Happy Cinco De Mayo!! I surely hope you’ve had a fabulous day today. AND Happy 4th Wedding Anniversary to my daughter, Ashley, and her sweet husband, Blake. I finally had a chance to get into my stamp room, and boy have I been having some fun!!
One of the first things I wanted to accomplish was a submission for the “Three Cheers for Chairs” challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog. What a super fun challenge this was. As I was formulating in my head what I wanted to do, I was browsing Kim Kesti’s blog – she’s one of the Paper Crafts “Go To Gals” and a super sweet lady!! I had a total flash of inspiration when I saw this photo from THIS post.
Can you see where my inspiration came from? I loved the white cabinets in the background, with all the white accessories, and then that POP of yellow. So fun!!
The chair and that funky clock are cardboard stickers from the “Abode” collection by American Crafts. The boxes and vase stamps are from the coordinating stamp set called “Dryer.” I stamped them in Versamark and then heat embossed them using White Zing embossing powder. Wow – that’s a lot of American Crafts products in one card, huh?!! I love Zing EP!!
There’s still some time to play along with this challenge – submissions are due Monday, May 10th. Check out the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by! Adios!
I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve had a stamp in my hand. That little last minute trip to Phoenix sure put a crimp in my crafty life. But all’s well that ends well. Hubby’s eyes are healing fabulously (thanks to all who prayed – it worked!!), and will be completely healed within the next two weeks. Isn’t that amazing?!! And after 1600+ miles and 28 hours on the road, we are now safe and sound at home in Washington. AND all was accomplished BEFORE the arrival of baby Brecken and youngest DD’s graduation. Woohoo!!
Needless to say, I haven’t been able to stamp since I got home, but luckily I did a little stamping before I left. This is a card that I put together for my friend Terri’s birthday that’s coming up this weekend. It features one of the My Cute Stamps sets that I hadn’t inked up before – it’s called Tea Party Girl. And boy was it FUN!! Isn’t that cake super cute?!! My mind was going a million miles a minute with more ideas for this darling set. Can’t wait to get a chance to get back in my stamp room and go to town with it! The sentiment is from a Hero Arts Clear Set called Birthday Messages. STAMPS: Tea Party Girl (My Cute Stamps), Birthday Messages (Hero Arts), Merry & Bright (PTI), Merry & Bright Additions (PTI) INK: Summer Sky (Memento), New Sprout (Memento), and Angel Pink (Memento), Tuxedo Black (Memento) PAPER: Spring Rain CS (Papertrey Ink), White CS (Neenah), Eggdrop Soup DP (Jillibean Soup) ACCESSORIES: Copic Markers, Janome Sew Mini, 3D Dots (EK Success), Embossed Scallop Border Punch (EK Success), Spring Rain Twill (PTI), Quickie Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
