Celebrate!!

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Cityscape Celebrate

I’m back today to share another entry for the Moxie Fab World Cityscapes Are the On The Rise challenge.  Cityscapes are so much fun, and so appropriate for fun celebrations like a new job, a graduation, girl’s night out – the possibilities are endless!!  I do find that there aren’t very many sentiment stamps that go with a fun, celebratory occasion, though.  I was happy to find the “Celebrate” sentiment from the Practicing Creativity set called For the Love of Dots.  It’s sort of blingy, like the city lights and the stars in the sky.  I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.  The cityscape image is from the My Stamp Box set called Neighborhoods.  I stamped it three different times – once on Soft Stone CS (with black ink), once on Basic Gray CS (with black ink), and once on Smokey Shadow CS (with light gray pigment ink) – and then “fussy cut” each of them out.  The moon was punched out of Harvest Gold CS with a 1-1/2” circle punch and adhered to the Smokey Shadow card base – I love the graphic pop of color that the contrast of the bright yellow moon gives against the dark gray CSI;m also really loving the gradient gray hues of the city.  I used the silver cording to “ground” the city, and then added self-adhesive rhinestones for stars.  I’m so happy with how this turned out.  I hope Cath likes it, too!

That’s it for me today, kids.  I’m off to crop with a friend so I’ll be back in a day or so to share again.  Thanks so much for stopping by – your comments truly make my day!!

Moxie Fab Cityscapes!

Hola Chicas!!

image
How are you?!  I’ve been creating like a fool lately, but can’t show you most of what I’ve made just yet.  I still have a few Go-To Sketches for Cardmakers 2 rejects to share with you, which I’ll do in the next few days.  But today I’m here to share a card I made up for the latest Moxie Fab World challenge – Cityscapes Are On the Rise.  I promise not to go on and on about how much I adore the Moxie Fab World Challenges – I know you’ve heard it all before.  But it bears repeating just one more time – Cath has her finger on the pulse of current trends and when she presents a challenge, I MUST obey!  LOL

Celebrate With Style Moxie Fab

So today’s card features a fun little cityscape image from Stampabilities that I happened to pick up at Hobby Lobby ON SALE!  Woohoo!!  The color scheme was inspired by the Moxie Fab World blog header, although I’m not sure I really captured all the amazing dimension represented in that graphic.  The rays were created with the super fun Practicing Creativity Designs clear set called You’re Dandy.  The sentiment is from Big & Bold Wishes by Papertrey Ink.  The cityscape image was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with black ZING embossing powder.  The rays were stamped with Pool pigment ink from Fresh Ink – ADORE that stuff!!  Easy peasy!!

There’s still a few days left before the challenge is up, so you really should play along.  You can find all the details HERE, and the deadline is March 28th.  I have a couple more ideas in my head but I may not have time to implement them before the challenge expires because I’ve got a very busy social schedule the next couple of weeks.  Today I’m lunching with the best shortbread cookie maker known to man (no, SERIOUSLY!), and Saturday I’m throwing a bachelorette party for one of the sweetest and most talented girls I know.  Then there’s the matter of a mani pedi next Thursday, the rehearsal dinner next Friday, and what no doubt will be the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of on Saturday.  So you see, I’m a very busy chica these days!!

Thanks for stopping by today – I so appreciate you all!!  Hope you have a great day!

Someone PINCH me!!

Happy St. Paddy's Day, Friends!!

Pinch me PLEASE!!  I feel like I'm living in a dream right now!!  I just got another HAPPY EMAIL from Susan Opel at Paper Crafts Magazine for another one of my cards!!!  The one they chose (sorry, I can't share it with you until September!) will appear in the September/October issue of Paper Crafts Magazine.  Are you KIDDING ME?!!  Needless to say, I am beside myself with happiness and glee.  I know I'm lucky because the odds were totally against me - there were 925 submissions and 338 of them were for Halloween (the only category that I submitted for), to fill 80 spots in the issue.  There were 66 designers and 11 brand newbies chosen, so I seriously did NOT expect to get an email today.  But let me tell you, I am one happy leprechaun for sure!!

Okay, I think I've gushed enough for one day.  Thank you for indulging me.  Before I go, there's a really fun lady who is once again hosting a Reject Blog Hop.  Dr. Amber of Damask Love is the hostess with the mostess.  Check out all the fabulous rejects HERE.  I'm happily including my reject from this call.  I've submitted this puppy to death and no one has picked it up, so I think I'll put a fork in it.  I personally thought it was stinkin' cute, especially since it uses the bat from Paper Smooches' Falling For You set.  This is actually version 2 of one that I created for a CARDS Magazine call that was REJECTED, too!  LOL  But I'm okay with it . . . really, I am!

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!  I've been creating like a fiend, so I've got lots of goodies to share with you all very soon!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Toot!! Toot!!

Happy Friday, Friends!!

Boy, is it quiet around here . . . our kids and grandson left yesterday.  I miss them already.  But we've got a quick couple of months here in the desert and then we'll be back in "sunny" Washington for the summer, spending every free minute with them again.

Thought I'd share a card I made using the new March release Paper Smooches set called Spiffy Scooters.  Seriously, could this scooter be any cuter?  When I saw this set, it took my breath away - my brain started spinning with ideas!!  So stinkin' fun, right?!

Lastly, I was thrilled to little pieces to see that Cath Edvalson at the Moxie Fab World Blog chose my Washi Tape card as one of the winners of her challenge!!  Squeal!!!  Needless to say, I was doing the silly dance once again!!  There was a new challenge posted on the Moxie Fab World Blog yesterday that I'm so gonna play along with - Cityscapes.  Fun, right?!!  You all should play, too - seriously, super fun stuff!!

That's it for me today, kids!  I'm having dinner with a sweet friend from high school tomorrow, and hope to get a little bit of stamping done on Sunday.  Have an amazing weekend, friends . . . and thanks for stopping by today!

Call Me!

Happy Wednesday Friends!!

Just a quick post today as I’m off to have some fun with my kids and grandson.  It’s the day before they leave, so we’re looking to cram as much fun into their last full day as we can.

Call Me

Thought I’d share a card I made for last week’s CARDS Gallery Challenge, which was to create a shaped card – rectangle or square cards.  So I decided to break out my new birthday Cricut Expression and see what fun I could create.  I found this fun little old school telephone on the Nifty Fifties cart that hubby bought me with my new Expression.  I used some new My Mind’s Eye DP, a little bit of stitching with my Sew Mini, and some fun buttons and ribbon.  Easy peasy!!  Sadly, I never got around to submitting it for the challenge . . . duh!  LOL  But I sure had fun making it, so I thought I’d share it with you all today.

I hope to be back in the next couple of days . . . once I get the beds stripped and remade, and my house decrapified of baby stuff.  In the meantime, thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Thinking of You and Some AH-MAZING News!!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I’ve once again been MIA – my kids are in town and we’ve been having loads of fun together.  Our youngest daughter flies out tomorrow and our oldest daughter, son-in-law and grandson fly out on Thursday.  So we still have a few days together, with lots of sunshine in the forecast – BONUS!!

Thinking of You

So I thought I’d share a card I made last week for the most recent Paper Crafts Magazine Go-To-Sketches call.  Sadly this one was not picked up, so I get to share it with you here.  I also thought I’d add it to a fun little reject hop that Amber from Damask Love is hosting.  Paper Crafts received nearly 3,000 submissions for the Go-To-Sketches call for 288 spots – you can imagine how awesome this issue will be, right?!

So wanna hear my news?!!  Okay, well . . . I HAD TWO CARDS PICKED UP FOR THE PAPER CRAFTS GO-TO-SKETCHES CALL!!!  AH-MAZING, right?!!  Seriously, I nearly split a gut when I saw that email in my inbox on Friday – I think my ears are still ringing!  LOL  One of my crafting goals for 2011 was to get published in Paper Crafts Mag, and I’m beside myself thrilled to pieces that I’ve reached that goal after many months of rejects!!

That’s it for me today, peeps.  I hope to do some crafting on Wednesday while my kids are out, and I have a few more rejects to share with you all before then, so I hope you’ll come back again real soon!  Thanks for stopping in today!!
