CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #48–Opposites Attract!

Okay, WOW!!  Did you all see the news?  We have some AH-MAZING new designers joining the Girl Fridays team in May, and we are THRILLED beyond belief to have them join our fun little family!  You so need to click over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to CHECK IT OUT!!  And then come right back for this week’s new challenge.  Go ahead, I’ll wait . . . .

Okay, now let’s get down to business!!  This week’s challenge is a good one – it will truly stretch your creative abilities.  At least it did for me.  But we’ll get to that in a minute.  Your challenge is to create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project (and just in case you’re wondering, it doesn’t have to be a card – it could be anything with a clean and simple design) and use the color wheel graphic above to choose colors that are opposite of each other.

The Craft’s Meow has once again very generously sponsored this week’s challenge, and they’ve provided a fabulous prize for this week’s TGIF Winner.  But, of course, you’ll have to pop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to see what it is.  While you’re there, be sure and check out the deliciousness that the other Girl Fridays have created for your inspiration.  Thank you, The Craft’s Meow for being our sponsor extraordinaire this week!!

CFC48 - Opposites Attract

I got to work with a gorgeous stamp set called Fly Free – the images in this set are stunning!!  I chose the colors of navy blue and orange.  But I flat STRUGGLED with it!!  Once again, my camera is not representing the true colors of my project, but I PROMISE that’s a very deep Navy Blue.  I stamped all of the images using VersaMark and heat embossed them with Denim (bird cage) and Apricot (sentiment and butterflies) embossing powders.

PRODUCTS USED:

STAMPS:  Fly Free (The Craft’s Meow)
INK:  VersaMark (Tsukineko)
PAPER:  Summer Sunrise (PTI)
ACCESSORIES:  Denim and Apricot Embossing Powder (Zing/American Crafts), Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon (Stampin’ Up!), Stampin’ Dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers)

That’s it for me today, kids!  I so hope you’ll play along with us this week!  We’d love it if you would!!  My sister and her husband are here visiting, and we’re having a great time.  We’re hoping that the weather holds out (rain and wind are forecasted – yikes!!), but even if it doesn’t, we’re having a great time so far!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I so appreciate it when you do.  Have a great weekend!
