CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #59–Round & Round!

Happy Friday, Crafty Peeps!

Can you believe that this is the last challenge for June?!!  Like, where the HECK did June go?!!  And I know many of you are enduring miserably hot weather (I’m praying for those in Colorado who are in danger of the fires), but I’d give my left big toe for some sunshine around here in the Pacific Northwest!!  Or better yet, I’d HAPPILY share the unending amount of rain that we’ve endured since we got back from AZ with those that are suffering from the heat.  Seriously, people!!

Okay, enough whining already!!  Let’s move onto the fun reason you came by today!  This week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is to:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project and include TWO (and ONLY two) circles in your design.  If you create a round shaped card, that counts as one of your circles!!
The Twinery Graphic
We have an outstanding sponsor for this week’s challenge!  The Twinery is the proprietor of some of the most amazing baker’s twine in our crafting community!  The colors are dreamy, and the quality is second to none!  The Twinery has provided the Girl Fridays with some delicious twine to work with for our projects this week, and they’ve very generously provided a fabulous prize for this week’s TGIF Winner.  But you’ll have to click on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to see what it is.  Thank you, The Twinery!!

CFC59 - Wishing You A Day Full of Sunshine

I love baker’s twine . . . in fact, I have a “friend” who tells me to “step AWAY from the baker’s twine!”  LOL  So, this challenge just made me happy!!  I’m also a huge fan of the latest sun rays trend . . . so fun, right?!!  I die cut a circle out of my image panel with a circle die.  I wrapped the two colors of baker’s twine through the circle and around the outside of the image panel (I adhered some double sided sticky strip to the back to keep the baker’s twine in place as I wrapped it) to create the sunrays.  I die cut another circle out of yellow cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the main circle with foam tape.  Easy peasy, and such a fun effect, don’t you think?

Hola Peeps!!

CAS-ualFridaysNoWords
It’s time once again for another terrific CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!  This week’s challenge is super fun – I think you’re really going to like it.  Your challenge:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project and include pink in your design.  So girlie, right?!

I loves me some gradient, and I loves me some gradient chevrons EVEN MORE!  I recently received the My Favorite Things Chevron Die-Namics (thank you so much, Kim!!) and I immediately put them to work for this week’s challenge card.  I used the larger of the two dies to cut out the chevron in four different pinks.  I cut a heart out with my A Muse Heart Trio die, and adhered the chevrons to the card base with foam tape.  The sentiment is from a FREE stamp set that I got from My Favorite Things when I placed my order!!  Are you kidding me?  FREE STAMPS?!!  SWOON!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #57–Clear As Day!

Hello Stampy Friends!!

Phew!!  What a crazy week I’ve had so far, and it’s only going to get busier!!  Graduations, publication calls, graduation parties, and my grandsons all combine to take up a whole lotta my time!!  LOL

CAS-ualFridaysNoWords

But let’s get right down to business, shall we?  This week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project and incorporate vellum or clear acrylic cardstock in your design.  I know you can do this!!

Paper Smooches Sponsor Button

It just so happens that this challenge is near and dear to my heart.  Why, you ask?  Well, I’m sponsoring this week’s challenge.  You may or may not know that I designed six stamp sets for my amazingly adorable friend, Kim Hughes, the owner and brilliant mind behind Paper Smooches Stamps.  My stamp designs were debuted at the January 2012 CHA, and to say that I’ve been grinning from ear to ear ever since is an understatement.  This week’s TGIF Winner will win one of each of the six stamp sets that I designed for Paper Smooches.  Fun, right?!

CFC57 What's the Buzz

I love using vellum in my card designs, so I was pretty excited about this challenge.  Of course, I HAD to use some of my own stamps, didn’t I?!!  I mean, DUH!!  So, I grabbed Geo-Graphic and stamped the hexagon border onto some vellum.  I know it’s a literal interpretation, but I just can’t help it – when I see hexagons, I always think of honey and bees.  One of these days I’ll get a more creative mind, I promise!  LOL

STAMPS:  Geo-Graphic (Paper Smooches Stamps), Honey Bees and Honey Bee Sentiments (PTI), Vintage Labels (A Muse Studio)
INK:  Black and Unicorn (Memories/Hero Arts)
PAPER:  Lemon Drop CS (French Poptone), Linen Vellum (PTI)
OTHER:  Lemondrop and Charcoal Baker’s Twine (The Twinery), Linen Impression Plate (PTI)

You really need to be sure and click on through to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog to see what my Girl Friday sisters have created for your viewing pleasure – and don’t forget about our Girl Friday Facebook Team!!  They’ll all blow your socks off, I promise!!

That’s it for me today, my friends.  I have a very busy day of stamping, babysitting tonight, and my nephew’s graduation party tomorrow!!  Hope you have some exciting plans for your weekend!!  Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #56–Sweet Spot!

Hola Friends!!

CAS-ualFridaysNoWords

It’s Friday – which means it’s time for a brand spankin’ new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!  This week, your challenge is to:  Create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project and include polka dots or spots in your design.  Who doesn’t love polka dots, for crying out loud?!

DeNami Avatar

This week’s incredible sponsor is DeNami Design – the place to find some of the cutest, most adorable red rubber stamps that you’ve ever seen!  DeNami Design was generous enough to share some super sweet images with the Girl Fridays to help inspire you all – how nice was that?!  They’ve also provided a delicious prize for this week’s TGIF winner, but you’ll have to click on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to find out what it is.  Thank you DeNami Design – you ROCK my world!!

CFC56 Hello Friend

I’ve been playing around with my Silhouette die cutting machine this week . . . I LOVE my Silhouette!!  I happened upon a super fun cutting file that I thought would be a PERFECT pairing with the darling DeNami Design images that I was given to work with.  I cut it out of some new Stampin’ Up Lucky Limeade CS.  I stamped (directly onto the card base) the Small Solid Circle and Polka Dot Circle in the openings of the die cut in three different colors, and adhered the die cut to the card base with foam tape, aligning the openings with the stamped images.  I used a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to place and stamp the sentiment.

PRODUCTS USED:

STAMPS:  Hello Friend, Small Solid Circle and Polka Dot Circle (DeNami Design)
INK:  Black (Memories/Hero Arts), Ginger and Pool (Fresh Ink), Fern (A Muse Studio)
PAPER:  Solar White CS (Neenah), Lucky Limeade (SU)
OTHER:  Circle Border Cutting File (Silhouette Studio), Silhouette SD (Silhouette America), Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers)

I’m sorry to challenge and run, friends – I’m in the middle of some super fun stuff for a publication call and need to be spending every single free minute that I have creating.  I should be back on track with sharing with you all after Monday.  In the meantime, know that I appreciate every single minute that you spend here at my little ol’ blog – it means the world to me!  Have a great weekend!
