The day has finally come for our very first Cutting Edge Challenge – to say that I am EXCITED is an understatement!!! I can’t wait for you all to play along, so let’s get to it, shall we?!
Okay, here’s the gig! We were to be inspired by this AH-MAZING project created by Jackie Rockwell in some way, and include die-cutting (any and all forms accepted) in our design! There’s so much about this project to be inspired by, right?! Here’s what I created:
Can you see where I took my inspiration? My sentiment was computer generated and printed onto white linen cardstock, and then die cut using the Stitched Mats: Rectangles. I then die cut a circle from the center of the front panel. I created a couple of water-color-wash panels using my Peerless Water Color In A Bottle – be still my heart!! The vibrancy of these water colors is mind blowing! I used the Light Green and Sky Blue bottles. Then I did a partial die cut using one of the new dies from My Favorite Things called You Mean the World to Me. I die cut it twice – once out of the green water colored panel, and again out of the blue water colored panel. I trimmed out the blue water colored panel to fit behind the front image panel, and punched out the “land masses” and replaced them with the green water colored pieces. Everything was popped up with dimensional tape. I’ve listed all of the products that I used below.
We’d love to have you play along with us! If you click on through to The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog, you’ll find lots of information, including:
