Runway Inspired Challenge #65–Thanks!

Hello my sweet, stampy friends!

RIC65 Graphic

I’m popping in quickly today to share the project I created for the newest Runway Inspired Challenge!!  As is always the case, I so love the fashionable inspiration photo that Jen chose for this challenge – so much fun texture and design interest!  I was inspired by the sheerness of the jacket, the interesting “cut lace” design at the top of the jacket, as well as what appears to be the pop of silver or platinum around the edges of the cutwork.  Oh, and I should mention that this week’s challenge is being sponsored by the amazing new stamp company, Altenew!  Here is my take on the challenge:

RIC65 - Thanks

Now, I have to confess that I created this in my craftroom when it was easily 1,000 degrees in there!!  I was dying, and pretty much had to take most of my clothes off to survive the time I was in there!  LOL  So, when I say that this came together quickly, it really was a matter of survival that it be quick!  I chose a background stamp that I thought mimicked the cutwork design on the jacket, and stamped it in VersaMark onto some vellum cardstock.  I heat embossed that piece with white EP, and adhered it to a piece of golden yellow cardstock for stability.  I trimmed out a white card base and stamped one of the sentiments from the new Altenew stamp set called Super Script 2.  This set is loaded with really cool scripted sentiments and coordinating tag alongs.  I just love it!  I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark onto the card base, and heat embossed it using Liquid Platinum EP (I thought that best represented the edging on the cutwork.)  I trimmed the vellum piece to fit the card base on an angle and adhered it with foam tape.  A few platinum pearls for added interest, and voila – DONE!!  Then I ran out of my craft room and took a cold shower!!  LOL

I want to thank Altenew for sponsoring the challenge this week!  Please click on through to the Runway Inspired Challenge Blog to see what my sweet teammates have created for you!  And you’ll want to check out the new blog design that Jen created –it is AH-MAZING!!  You have until Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:59 PM EDT to link up YOUR answer to the challenge!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’m hoping that the weather cools off a bit here in Washington so that I can get some more stamping done!!  LOL

Sorry to hear your craft room was 1000 degrees, didn't melt your creativity though.
