Stretch Your Stamps 2–Homework Days 3 & 5!

Well, hello Monday!

I hope this Monday morning finds you all rested and rejuvenated from the weekend!  I had an awesome weekend – food festival, dancing, crafting, hanging with my sweet college roommate and her family, and gorgeous weather!  What more could a girl ask for!  Hope you had a great weekend, too!

I’m popping in quickly today to share two more of the projects that I created for the Stretch Your Stamps 2 Online Card Class.  This is my homework for Days 3 and 5.

SYS2 Debossing and Watercolor

DAY 5 – I was inspired to create this project by Jen Rzasa and her really cool technique!  She showed us a couple of things in her project, but I focused on her debossing technique as a fun and cool way to enhance a stamped outline image.  I changed her technique up a bit by stamping the image in VersaMark onto the smooth side of some Distress Watercolor Paper.  I then heat embossed the image with white EP.  Then I used the coordinating dies to die cut some clear craft plastic four times, and adhered the layers together.  I then debossed the image in my Big Shot.  I watercolored the image using Distress Inks, and finally applied a layer of Clear Wink of Stella – I so love how pretty that stuff is!  I die cut the sentiment flag and stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed it with white EP.  Everything was assembled using foam tape.  I ADORE how this card turned out!!  It looks in the picture as if the sentiment strip is crooked . . . it might be, but I’m hoping that it’s just because of the angle of my camera.  I’m gonna go with that. LOL

SYS2 Stamped Alpha on Diecuts

DAY 3 – My next project was actually CASE’d exactly from a project and technique that Debby Hughes shared.  I thought her card was so stinkin’ cute that I just couldn’t help myself!!  I had to make it!  Something that I’ve discovered with this class is that the instructors use a lot of Distress Inks and they are amazing at blending them – what I’ve discovered is that I SUCK at it!!  So if the powers that be from the Online Card Classes are reading this – PLEASE do a future class showing us tips and tricks to blending these inks!!  I need a lot of help in this department!  LOL  Anyways, back to the card – Debby showed us how to use a simple alphabet stamp set to stamp words repeatedly to add whimsy and texture to die cuts.  I used the Lawn Fawn Milo’s ABC’s stamp set, and a few different die cuts.  I also used a darling stencil set from Simon Says Stamp that I’ve had but hadn’t had a chance to use until now.  Fun stuff!!  I’ve listed all of the products that I used on these two projects below.

I have the next two days free to get some additional homework done!  I’m excited about that.  It means that I’ll be posting often this week, so hopefully you’ll stop by when you have a chance!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
