Avery Elle Summer 2015 New Release Blog Hop!

Hello, friends!!

AEBlogHopBadge

The day is finally here!!  The brand spankin’ new products from Avery Elle are finally available in the store, and you can find them all right HERE.  We’re having a little blog hop featuring the new products!  Here’s my project:

6-4-15 Happy Hour Blog Hop

My project features the new stamp set called Happy Hour – a stamp set loaded with super fun sentiments that will tickle anyone’s fancy!  I also used the new Margarita Shaker Elle-Ments set.  I mean, come ON!!  Right?!!  There’s a Wine Shaker Elle-Ments set, too – be still my heart!!  Oh, and see that amazing pierced border panel?  That was created using the new Double Pierced Rectangles Elle-Ments set!!  BOOM!!  Here’s how I created my project:

  1. Trim an A2 top-folding card base from white cardstock; score at 5.5” and perfect crease using a teflon bone folder.
  2. Die cut an image panel from white cardstock using the Double Pierced Rectangles Elle-Ments.
  3. Using an ink blending tool, lightly blend some Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks onto the image panel.  Sprinkle a few water droplets onto the inked panel, and blot with a rag.  Allow to fully dry.
  4. Stamp sentiment from the Happy Hour Stamp Set using New Moon Pigment Ink.
  5. Die cut the margarita glass from white cardstock using the Margarita Shaker Elle-Ments.  Using an ink blending tool, lightly blend some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to give the look of glass.  Blend some Salty Ocean Distress Ink at the top edge of the glass and the stem of the glass to give the look of an authentic Mexican margarita glass!
  6. Die cut the top of the margarita glass ONLY from some clear acetate using the Margarita Shaker Elle-Ments; adhere that to the back of the inked margarita glass.
  7. Die cut the top of the margarita glass ONLY four times from white cardstock using the Margarita Shaker Elle-Ments.  Adhere the four layers together with adhesive, and then adhere them to the back of the inked margarita glass.
  8. Sprinkle yellow seed beads and clear sequins in the opening of the margarita glass – enough to look as though the glass is almost full.
  9. Die cut the top of the margarita glass ONLY from white cardstock using the Margarita Shaker Elle-Ments; lightly blend some Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks.  To enclose the seed beads and sequins, adhere this with a strong adhesive to the back of the assembled margarita glass, making sure that the inked side shows through the front of the glass through the acetate.
  10. Die cut the lime from some Lemon Grass and Celery Cardstock using the Margarita Shaker Elle-Ments.  Assemble with liquid adhesive.  Cut a slice from the lime and adhere it to the assembled margarita glass.
  11. Apply a narrow line of Glossy Accents to the rim of the margarita glass and sprinkle on some white seed beads, giving the appearance of salt.  Apply a thick layer of Glossy Accents onto the remainder of the margarita glass and lime.  Allow to  thoroughly dry – over night, if possible.
  12. Adhere the assembled margarita glass to the image panel with foam squares.
  13. Adhere sequins to image panel with liquid adhesive.

That’s it!!  This seriously was a BLAST to create, and I look forward to playing with the Wine Shaker Elle-Ments, too!! I think my wino friends are really going to love that one, for sure!!!  LOL

Here’s the full list of hoppers, as well as some information about a prize opportunity!!  Check it!

Using white seed beads was brilliant to mimick salt. I have yet to use them but this is convincing.
