Okay, I’m so glad you decided to come back to see my card!  LOL  I decided to keep this one simple . . . since the butterflies take center stage like the beautiful ballerinas that they are!  Here’s how I created my project:

  1. Trim an A2, horizontal card base from Smooth White Card StockScore at 4.25”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Die cut an image panel from Smooth White Card Stock using the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics.
  3. Position the Geometric Grid Stencil over the top of the image panel and lightly blend some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the left portion of the image panel, fading it out to white on the right side.
  4. Die cut the largest butterfly from the image panel using the Beautiful Butterflies Die-Namics.
  5. Stamp the sentiment from the You Give Me Butterflies Stamp Set onto the image panel using Summer Splash Hybrid Ink.  Stamp the sentiment a second time, shifting it slightly, with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
  6. Temporarily position the image panel over the card base and note the position of the die cut butterfly.  Mask off the outside edge of the card base with post-it tapeBlend some Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto the card base, in the lower right corner – enough to fill the area of the butterfly negative.  Remove the post-it tape.
  7. Before you remove the image panel, stamp the lined detail of the butterfly stamp (from the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set) into the butterfly negative on the card base using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
  8. Adhere the image panel to the card base with foam tape.
  9. Adhere some Clear Droplets to the image panel with Multi Medium Matte and a Tanto Embellishment Tool.

Easy, peasy!!  Seriously, people . . . these butterflies pretty much make your card for you!!  You MUST add this Beautiful Butterflies Card Kit to your collection!  Please click on through to the My Favorite Things Design Blog to be linked to the other projects from the rest of the team!  You’ll see some good stuff, I tell ya!

That’s it for me – still playing with the kiddos!  It’s gonna be sunny, so some pool time will be happening today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back on Friday with more crafty goodness!  Until then, have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!

This is card is so pretty! I love how you used the negative space from the die to create dimension in the card and highlight the beautiful butterfly. The stenciling was the perfect touch - thanks so much for sharing!
