Hola!

I’m popping in today to share a project that I created for My Favorite Things WSC330!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my take on the sketch!

I’m so in love with Birdie Brown’s new Up In the Air Stamp Set!  Those little critters peeking over the side just make me happy!  Her critters just make me smile!  Here’s how I created my project:

  1. Trim an A2 vertical, top-folding card base from Smooth White Card StockScore at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Die cut an image panel from Smooth White Card Stock and blue and white polka dot patterned paper (from the Lucky Prints 6 x 6 Paper Pack) using the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics.  Adhere the two panels together using tape runner adhesive.
  3. Stamp the images from the Up In the Air Stamp Set onto Smooth White Card Stock using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Color the images with Copic Markers and die cut them using the coordinating Up In the Air Die-Namics.
  4. Stamp the hot air balloon a second time onto some red and white heart patterned paper (from the Hearts & Stripes 6 x 6 Paper Pack) with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and trim out the balloon with detail scissors.  Adhere it to the hot air balloon die cut with tape runner adhesive.
  5. Stamp the sentiment from the Up In the Air Stamp Set onto the image panel using Black Hybrid Ink.
  6. Die cut a cloud bank from Translucent Vellum using the Stitched Cloud Edges.  Wrap the side edges around the image panel and secure them on the back with tape.  Wrap white crochet thread around the image panel and tie into a bow.
  7. Adhere the images to the image panel using foam tape.  Adhere the image panel to the card base using more foam tape.

This week’s sketch is really versatile and a great starting point for any creative design!  I was grateful to have it as a reference point as I was suffering from (and continue to suffer from) low mojo – it’s a horrible medical condition that is driving me crazy!!  LOL  I’m hoping it passes very soon.  Until then, sketches will become my go to mojo “life support.”  Please click on through to the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog for additional projects featuring this week’s sketch!  And while you’re there, link up YOUR take on the sketch – we’d love to have you play along with us!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used on my project below.

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’m still knocking out my “to do” list in anticipation of our trip to Italy on Saturday.  I’ll be back very soon with more crafty goodness!  Until then, please know how much I appreciate you dropping by today!  It’s what makes me happy – more than you know!  Have a great day!
