I’m baaaackkkk!!

The time has finally arrived!!  The My Favorite Things November Release is finally available, and I’m so excited to share my New Product Launch project with you!

KKL_NOV0717-NPL

When I saw the Ornamental Medallion Trio Die-Namics, I knew they’d be perfect for the faux ceramic tile technique!!  Have you ever done this?!!  It’s soooo much fun!!  I used some thick 2” thick squares that I had in my stash (you could make your own by adhering three layers of 100# card stock together with adhesive).  I trimmed four pieces of masking material the same size as the squares, and adhered them to each square.  I placed each of the Ornamental Medallion Trio dies onto one of the squares (die cut one of them twice so that I’d have four), and ran them through my die cut machine (I played with the die cut sandwich because of the thickness, but finally figured it out so that I wouldn’t break my Big Shot!)  I then carefully removed all of the negative masking material – leaving only the positive die cut in place.  I applied some Distress Oxide Inks to each square with dobbers, and then carefully removed the die cut mask from each square.  I heat set the ink, to make sure it didn’t bleed, and then I applied a heavy layer of VersaMark Ink to each square (I literally just smooshed them into the pad) and heat embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder!  I repeated this step three times, because the more clear EP you use, the more like a real ceramic tile they begin to look!!  I layered each tile with coordinating card stock mats, to make sure they really popped off the card!  For the image panels, I splattered watered down distress oxide inks (the same colors I used on each tile), dry embossed the Mesmerizing Mandala Die-Namic, and stamped a sentiment from the All Occasion Sentiments Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  I die cut each image panel with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics Set 2, adhered the matted tiles, and adhered the assembled image panels to an A2 Smooth White card base with foam squares.  Here’s a pic of the entire set of cards!

Wonderful cards with a great use of the ornamental medallion die. I love the bright colours, they look very good on the card. And the dry embossed mandala die is a great idea for the background.
