Karolyn Birthday Sampler 2-13
My sample features the Birthday Sampler stamp set, which is another amazing compilation of great birthday sentiments in Kim’s fun and whimsical handwriting.  No one does sentiments like Kim, in my opinion (but I might be a little biased Winking smile).  And this sentiment set is no exception!  I also used one of the “CHA release” stamp sets called Tri-balation to create the pattern on the card front.  It’s a great set full of amazing graphic shapes that can be combined to create fabulous patterns that are super trendy!  I see tribal-inspired patterns everywhere these days, so I’m so happy to be able to have the ability to recreate those patterns with this set!  I feel like the pattern I created here kind of looks like confetti, which is perfect for a birthday celebration, don’t you think?!

Thanks so much for hopping along with us today.  I’ll be back in a bit with my CAS(E) This Sketch sample, so I hope you’ll stop in again, soon!  Oh, and be sure and come back on Saturday to see if you’re the lucky winner of the Birthday Sampler set!

CAS(E) This Sketch #13–Cup of Thanks!

IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR MY PAPER SMOOCHES PEP RALLY POST, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN!

Hola Friends!

CTS13 Graphic

Two posts in one day – holy schnykies!!  LOL  I’m back with my sample for the latest and greatest CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  Jackie was kind enough to invite me to create some sketches for you all, and of course I jumped at that opportunity!  I loves me a great sketch to jump start my creativity!

CTS13 - Cup of Thanks

So, as is almost always the case, I took a few design liberties with this sketch.  I wanted to make that focal panel into something a little more “unexpected,” which is what I truly love about sketch challenges.  I see what I see – you might see something else!  LOL  In this particular case, I saw a delicious cuppa joe.  I die cut the cup image using my Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Stamps set called Cyber Caféé.  The rest of the supplies I used are listed below.

STAMPS:  Cyber Café (Paper Smooches Stamps), Coffee Beans (Gourmet Rubber Stamps)
INK:
Unicorn Pigment Ink (Memories/Hero Arts)
CARDSTOCK:  Strawberry Orange Peel CS (Bazzill Basics Paper),
White Linen CS (Essentials By Ellen)
OTHER:  Coffee Cup Cutting File (Silhouette Online Store, Design #37700), Hawaiian Shores Felt (PTI), Caribbean and Pink Sorbet Baker’s Twine (The Twinery), Heart Trio Die (A Muse Studio), Silhouette Cameo Electronic Die Cutting Machine (Silhouette America)

I so hope you’ll play along with this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge – we’d love to see what you come up with!  Be sure and click on through to the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge Blog to see what my amazing teammates have created for your viewing pleasure and inspiration.  You can link up your projects there, too.

Well, that’s it for me today, kids.  Thanks so much for stopping by again.  Your visits truly make my day!  Have a great weekend!

CAS(E) This Sketch #12–Brighter Skies

Helllooooooo!!

I am happy to report that I am finally among the living again . . . after sleeping for four days, I’ve finally kicked that nasty flu bug to the curb!  Phew!  That was a nasty one!  I’m hoping that you and yours have escaped that dastardly bug because it is a pain in the you-know-what!

CTS12 Graphic

The minute I felt better, I immediately raced to my craft room to create a little ditty for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch.  It’s another beauty created by Lisa and has a zillion possibilities for interpretation, don’t you think?

CTS12 - Brighter Skies

You know I have this immense love for metal dies.  I had to use some new ones that came some time before I left for CHA, but that I hadn’t had a chance to play with because I was so  busy getting ready for CHA.  The raindrops die is one of my newest acquisitions and it was super fun to play with.  I feel like the fact that we live in Seattle in the summer will afford me many opportunities (sadly, too many opportunities) to use that baby!  Ha!

PRODUCTS USED:

STAMPS:  Heart to Heart #6 (PTI)
INK:  Slate (FRESH INK)
PAPER:  Ash CS (AMERICAN CRAFTS), Sno Cone and Lemon Drop CS (FRENCH POPTONE), White Linen CS
(ELLEN HUTSON)
OTHER:
A Little Rain Die (MEMORY BOX), Apothecary Labels 2 Die (SIMON SAYS STAMPS)

I know the other ladies on the team have created some genius interpretations for your inspiration.  I so hope you’ll click on through to the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge Blog to link up your own project and see what the other gals made for you!

That’s it for me today, kids.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I am ever so thankful for you!  Have a great weekend!

CAS(E) This Sketch #11 -

Hello crafty friends!

I just got back from the Craft and Hobby Association trade show Tuesday night, and I brought a lovely cold home with me.  So I hope you won’t mind that I just can’t bring myself to be real chatty and fun today.  I’m hoping that this crud goes away soon because I simply don’t have time for this nonsense!  On a good note, though, I had an amazing time at the show – crafting Disneyland, I tell you!  More details to follow . . . very soon!

CTS11 Graphic

So, I’m popping in quickly to share a couple of samples for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch #11Jackie created this sketch and I had a ball with it!  In fact, I had so much fun with it, I created two samples.

CTS11 - So Grateful 4 U

I was browsing through a catalog before the holidays and came across a graphic that just screamed at me!  I was so inspired that I created a cutting file on my Silhouette Cameo that resembled what I saw.  I LOVE a clean lined graphic card – and I think this pretty much fits the bill, don’t you?  I also love the bold colors.  So that’s my first sample.

CTS11 - Youre Snow Cool

My second sample is a bit more simple to recreate.  It’s a little 4 x 4 card.  Instead of die cutting the quilt block, I embossed it.  I stamped some snowflakes in Versamark and heat embossed the sentiment with white EP.  I’d normally list the supplies I used for both cards, but my poor little snot filled brain just won’t let me right now.  I’ll come back later when I’m feeling better – I promise!

That’s it for me, kids.  You totally need to pop on over to the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge Blog to link your answer to the sketch and see what the other amazing ladies have created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by today – I really, really appreciate it!

CAS(E) This Sketch #10–I Quite Like You!

Well hello, crafty friends!!

Did you think that I dropped off the face of the earth?!  Oh my goodness, it seems like forever since I posted here on my bloggo.  But I’m back with a vengeance today (what the heck does that mean, anyways?  LOL)!!

CTS10 Graphic

The CAS(E) This Sketch team has been a sweet little break, too – but we’re all back today to share the newest sketch challenge!  This one was created by Lisa – isn’t it awesome?!  Here’s my take:

CTS10 - I Quite Like You

This is a sweet little 4 x 4 card.  I stamped the banner in white (using THE best white pigment ink on the face of the earth – you can find it HERE).  I die cut little gingham hearts and glued them onto the banner.  Then I stamped the sentiment (using THE best black dye ink on the face of the earth – you can find it HERE).  Easy peasy – and just about as clean and simple as it gets, right?!

We would so love for you to play along with us this week!  All you need to do is create a CLEAN & SIMPLE card using the above sketch as your inspiration.  You can link up your project at the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge Blog, and while you’re there be sure to check out the lovelies that my teammates created for you!

So, I’m off to the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA)trade show in Anaheim, California tomorrow morning – I am so stinkin’ excited!  I’ll be working in the Paper Smooches booth with some of the sweetest girls in this industry, so that’s a double bonus!  If you plan to be there, I hope you’ll pop into the PS booth and say hey!  I’ll be back next week and will take lots of pics to share with you all!  In the meantime, thanks so much for stopping by today – it means the world to me when you do!

Paper Smooches Sneak Peek–Someone Pinch Me!

NEW-DEC-2012-PS-logo-small THIRD DRAFT

Hola Stamping Friends!

Someone pinch me, please, because I think I’m living in a dream!  I’m thrilled to announce that Kim Hughes has invited me to join the Paper Smooches Stamps Design Team.  What?!!  I know, right?!  My official term begins at the end of January, but I get the privilege of sharing a sneak peek of some of the new product that will be available for sale on February 1, 2013 at www.papersmoochesstamps.com along with many retail stores around the globe.

Paper Smooches is showing off their CHA release during the entire month of January. 37 designers are participating along with the PS DT, so there will be a ton of projects to inspire you this month. Paper Smooches is known for their fun and whimsical hand-drawn stamps. They decided that it was time to broaden their product line to include DIES and wood mount stamps!

You will find a new blog link (or two) to follow every day in January at the PS BlogPaper Smooches is giving away $500 worth of product! Hidden on FIVE of the participating blogs is a prize package worth $100 each. The prizes include a variety of stamp sets, wood mounts and dies. Comment on as many blogs as you can to increase your chances to be one of the five winners.

The deadline for commenting is January 30th – winners will be announced on the PS Blog on January 31st.

Hot Spots Large Sneak Peak 1-1-13

Here’s my project featuring one of the new dies – OH MY GOODNESS!!  The image panel is a new die set called Hot Spots Large Base and Hot Spots LG Set 2 (the polka dot panel).  These dies are an amazing system to help ground those adorable PS images.  The smaller rectangle can be swapped out for one of five different graphic patterns – I’m featuring the polka dot pattern in this project.  I seriously can’t wait for you all to see more of these dies and try them out for yourself – they’ll quickly become your collection basics for sure!

That’s it for my GINORMOUS news today, kids!  I hope you’ll pop into the Paper Smooches Blog EVERY SINGLE DAY IN JANUARY for the chance to win and to be amazed by the incredible list of designers that Kim has gathered to share her new products with you.  I promise you’ll be blown away!  Thanks for stopping in!
