My Favorite Things Card Kit Release–Flashy Florals!

Print

Hooray, hooray, it’s card kit release day!!

It’s finally time for you to click on through to the My Favorite Things Online Store to get your Flashy Florals Kit!  Because if you don’t, I fear it will be gone . . . in a flash!  See how I did that?!  LOL  Here’s the project that I created for the release – another “out of the box” design, featuring the Flashy Florals Stamps, and the Thanks & Hello Die-Namics that come in the kit.

Okay, I know . . . this is way outside the box.  But I was totally inspired by this tone-on-tone bathing suit.  Oh, and I look this good in a bikini – NOT!  LOL

So, when I saw this, I went to town stamping!  Here’s how I created my project:

  1. Trim an A2, horizontal top folding card base from Black Licorice Card StockScore at 4.25”, fold in half, and perfect crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Die cut an image panel from Steel Grey Card Stock (provided in the Flashy Florals Kit) using the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics Set.
  3. Stamp the Grid Background Stamp onto the card base using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
  4. Stamp the flowers and leaves from the Flashy Florals Stamp Set onto the card base using Gravel Gray Hybrid Ink for the lighter images and Black Licorice Hybrid Ink for the darker images.  I created masks for the flowers and used them when stamping the leaves and overlapping the flowers, to give the appearance that some images are behind others.
  5. Adhere the image panel to the card base with foam tape.
  6. Die cut a stitched strip from Black Licorice Card Stock using the stitched strip die contained in the Blueprints 1 Die-Namics Set.  Adhere it to the image panel with foam tape.
  7. Die cut the hello word from Silver Shine Card Stock using the Thanks & Hello Die-Namics (provided in the Flashy Florals Card Kit).  Adhere it to the stitched strip with liquid adhesive.
  8. Adhere gray and black sequins (I had these in my stash) using Glossy Accents.

I’m really kind of digging that dark tone-on-tone vibe that’s going on here!  This kit is so incredibly versatile!!  And inspiration is everywhere!  I've listed all of the products that I used below.  I hope you’ll click on through, first to the My Favorite Things Online Store to buy your kit (it’s available NOW), and then to the My Favorite Things Design Blog to check out the other incredibly inspiring projects that my sweet teammates have created!  You don’t want to miss them!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  It truly means the world to me when you spend part of your day here with me!  Have a great day – I’ll be back very soon with another crafty project to share with you!
