My Favorite Things–New Product Launch!!

Hello!!

Print

The time has come, my friends!!  The January release from My Favorite Things is available now!  Have you been following the countdown days on the My Favorite Things Blog?  Oh my word – such fun stuff!!  Here’s a project that I created using the new Big Hugs Die-Namics and the new Floral Fantasy Background:

KKL_JAN1717-Release-Replay

I created this fun little card that slips perfectly inside this pocket “envelope” that I created – it was super easy!!  Here’s how I did it:

  1. Trim a panel measuring 4.75” x 11” from Smooth White Card Stock.  On the long side of the panel, score at 5.5”.  On the short side of the panel, score at .25” and at 4.50”.  Use a trimmer or scissors to trim off the 1/4” scores up to the half way score (4.5”) line on the long side.  Snip off the bottom of both tabs at an angle to remove the bulk.
  2. Die cut a notch at the top of the panel using the notch die from the Blueprints 7 Die-Namics.  Die cut the Big Hugs Die-Namics from the center of the notched panel, making sure that the word is centered and aligned to the left of the notch.
  3. Die cut an image panels from Smooth White Card Stock using the rectangle die from the Blueprints 2 Die-NamicsStamp the panel with the Floral Fantasy Background Stamp using Cement Gray Hybrid Ink.
  4. Position and temporarily adhere the stamped panel behind the Hugs die cut panel.  Position the Big Hugs Die-Namic into the negative of the previous cut, and run it through your manual die cutting machine.  This should cause the Big Hugs Die-Namic to cut through to the second panel.  Trim a piece of double sided adhesive to fit the back of the image panel.  Remove the release paper from the adhesive, and adhere it to the image panel.  Color the die cut words using Copic Markers and position them back into their respective die cut openings.
  5. Stamp the sentiment from the Once Upon A Time Stamp Set onto the image panel using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
  6. Trim a card base measuring 4-1/8” x 10-3/4” from Smooth White Card Stock, and score at 5-3/8”.  Fold the card base in half, and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.  Remove the release paper from the back of the stamped image panel and adhere it to the front of the card base.
  7. Trim a piece of acetate measuring 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”.  Adhere 1/8” Scor-Tape to all four outside edges of the acetate.  Center it onto the back of the Hugs envelope panel (behind the words), remove the release tape, and adhere it down.
  8. Adhere more 1/8” Scor-Tape to the BACK of both side tabs, fold the tabs in towards the center of the panel, and fold the bottom flap to the top flap.  This will create your card “envelope.”

A super easy yet fun and unique way to “highlight” the word Hugs and enclose it inside a great little pocket so that the words pop off the front!  You could even address the other side of the pocket “envelope” and mail it!  Easy, peasy!  I’ve listed all of the products that I used below.  ALL of the new products are available NOW and can be found by click on the graphic below.
