25 Days of Christmas Tags!!

GIVEAWAY ALERT – PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR THE DETAILS ON MY GIVEWAY!!
Hello stampy friends!!

25 Days of Christmas Graphic

The sweet Tracey McNeely invited me to play along with her 25 Days of Christmas Tags feature that she has had on her blog the last several years!  Of course I said yes – 100 times YES!!  Tracey is a doll and an incredibly talented designer, and she has gathered together some amazing peeps and teams to participate in this gig, so to say that I was humbled to be included is an understatement.  What a fun idea, right?!!  Tracey has also tapped some of the most fun and generous companies to sponsor her event, so you can imagine she’s got some AWESOME prizes.  The sponsors are:

I was so excited to play along that I created TWO tags and had ideas for a million others!  Sadly, I only have so many hours in the day, so I’ll have to save those other million minus two ideas for another day.  LOL

My first tag was super fun to create.  I die cut the stitched tag (Anytime Tags – Lil Inker Designs) from White Linen CS.  I die cut the stacked packages (Pile of Gifts Die – Simon Says Stamp) and layered some yummy colored vellum behind the negative spaces of the die cut.  I stamped the sentiment (No Peeking – Mama Elephant) with VersaMark and heat embossed with Red EP (Ranger).

Here’s the back of the tag!  I used another new die to cut the gift card grooves (Gift Card Grooves Die – My Favorite Things) on the back of the tag – perfect for adding a gift card for someone special and hanging it on the tree!

My second project was tedious to create, but the end result made me so happy that it was worth all the effort!  This one features a die (Woodland Snowlady – Cottage Cutz)that I picked up at the CKC in Seattle earlier this month.  I thought she was so stinkin cute!  The tag base was die cut (Stitched Duo 1 Die (Pretty Pink Posh) and stamped with the Snowfall Background stamp from My Favorite Things.  I die cut the snow drifts (Stitched Snowdrifts – My Favorite Things).  Isn’t she too cute for words?  I’ll for sure be adding her to a special Christmas gift this year.  I’ve listed all of the products that I used on these projects below.

Tracey has created a Flickr Group for you to play along with her – you can find it HERE.  And you’ll find some amazing inspiration as well as other details about the prizes she is giving away on her blog!!  She has also created some Pinterest boards from years past (2011, 2012, and 2013) that will blow your mind!

The Cutting Edge Challenge #7!

Happy Saturday, friends!!

It’s time to share the next Cutting Edge Challenge, and I think you’re going to love this week’s inspiration photo!

This week’s inspiration is brought to you by Jackie Rockwell!  Isn’t it so fun and cute?  Jackie’s eye for detail, color and composition always amaze me.  I was inspired by the color palette, as well as the layout.  Here’s my answer to the challenge:

CEC7 - You're My Cup of Tea

I picked up this Teacups Stack die and have been waiting for the chance to use it!  Isn’t it so stinkin’ cute?!  I watercolored onto some watercolor paper using my Peerless Watercolors and a water brush.  Once dry, I die cut the teacup image and popped out most of the die cut areas.  I wanted most of the color to show, but still have a bit of white popping through the negative spaces.  After I finished, I wished that I had placed some embossing paste/stenciled images behind the cup, for added interest and texture.  Oh well – next time!  I’ve listed the products that I used below!

We’d love for you to play along with us this week!  If you click on through to The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog, you’ll find some additional card beauty provided by my sweet teammates, as well as the linky tool for you to link up YOUR take on the challenge!!  All you have to do is create a design, inspired by Jackie’s card, and use some form of die cutting (all forms accepted!) – easy peasy, right?!  You have until Thursday, August 14th at 9:00 AM EDT to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’m hoping to play the entire day in my craft room – I have some homework to do for the Stretch Your Stamps 2 Online Card Class that I’m taking!!  Oh how I love these classes!!
