My Favorite Things - August Birthday Project Challenge!

 Hello again!

It's time for this month's Birthday Project Challenge, which is to add an interactive element to a birthday card! Well, I think you all know how much I love the Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights because they are so stinkin' fun and absolutely "idiot proof!" Plus, who doesn't want to add that amazing WOW factor when the recipient presses the button to light up their card!

I created the dimensional cupcake using the Frosted Cupcake Die-Namics. I die cut the candle through the white scalloped panel, as well as the striped panel, so that I could hide the mechanics of the EZ-Lights behind the scenes. The sentiment is from the All the Cupcakes Stamp Set! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other interactive projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration! And while you're there, why not link up an interactive birthday card of your own for a chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so you have nothing to lose - we'd love to see what you create!

That'll do it for me today, my friends! I'll be back in a few days with more crafty goodness! Until then, have an awesome day, and thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things - June Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello friends!

Yes, it's been quiet around here. I've officially transitioned back to Washington for the summer, and it took me a bit to get settled. But my butt's back in the saddle and I'm happy to be here to share a project that I created for this month's Birthday Project Challenge! Our challenge this month was to use some cute critters to create a critter birthday celebration! I pulled out my Birthday Chicks Stamp Set, and paired it with the Hip, Hip, Hooray Die-Namics to create my project for you!

Those sweet little chicks are some of my favorite Birdie Brown images. I tell ya, that lady knocks it outta the park every single time!  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other terrific birthday projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration! And while you're there, why not create a critter-filled birthday celebration of your own for a chance to win a $50 shopping spree to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so everyone that plays has a chance!

That'll do it for me today, my loves! Today starts a weekend of fun with Gramma and Grandpa! The adult kids are getting away, so we're holding down the fort while they're gone! We're excited to have some quality time with our love bugs, but I'll be honest - I feel confident we'll be exhausted by the end of the weekend! LOL I hope you have some fabulous weekend plans for your self, and that you're staying safe and healthy!  I'll be back soon with more crafty stuff.  Until then, thanks for dropping by!

My Favorite Things - May Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello friends!

I'm super excited to be sharing a project that was inspired by this month's Birthday Project Challenge! The challenge for this month is to personalize a birthday card design by using any of the fabulous alphabet stamps and dies that My Favorite Things carries! This challenge arrived at the perfect time, as it's my son-in-law's birthday in a few days and they just purchased a new home! I know he has big plans to build things in his new shop, so I made him a card using the Let's Tool Around Stamp Set from this month's Vault Release, and I personalized it using the Captions Alphabet Dies. I'll be including a Home Depot Gift Card, because I know that'll get put to great use!

I repeatedly stamped the images from the Let's Tool Around Stamp Set in Blueberry, Summer Splash and Grout Gray Premium Dye Inks to create the background. I die cut one of the Fold-Up Tags from vellum, and I stitched it to the background panel.  Did you see what I did there? I said I STITCHED the tag to the panel! I haven't stitched on a card in ages, and it was so much fun! I must remember to do this again soon! The sentiment from the Little Birthday Notes Stamp Set onto some Blueberry card stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, heat embossed it with white embossing powder, and die cut it using the Skinny Strips Die-Namics. I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other outstanding personalized birthday designs that my fellow teammates have created for you! And while you're there, why not link up your own personalized birthday design for a chance to win a $50 shopping spree to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so everyone that plays has a chance to win!

That'll do it for me today, friends! My oldest daughter's family has been here visiting, and today is their last full day! So I'll be hanging out in the pool with them.  I'll be back again real soon with more crafty goodness. And until then, I hope you have a great day!

My Favorite Things - April Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello all!

I am so happy to be popping in today to share a cutie patootie project that I created for this month's Birthday Project Challenge! I ALWAYS need birthday cards, so this challenge holds a sweet place in my heart because it forces me to add to my stash. This month's challenge was to use circles in unusual and unexpected ways to create a birthday card. My immediate thought was to make some cute posies with several sizes of stitched circle dies from the Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics, solid card stock and coordinating polka dot papers.  And here's what I came up with!

I actually really love the way these sweet flowers turned out. The stems and leaves were created using the Stitched Flowers Die-Namics, the sentiment is from the Garden Fairies Stamp Set, and the sentiment strip was made using the Fishtail Flag Trio Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other birthday projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration! And while you're there, why not link up your own birthday card using circles in some way, for your chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so everyone that plays has a chance to win!

That's it for me today, kids! I'll be back next week with another project and process video!  Until then, please stay safe and well. And thanks for spending some of your time with me here . . . it means the world to me that you do!

My Favorite Things - March Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello friends!

I'm so excited to be popping in today to share the design that I created for this month's Birthday Project Challenge! And this month's challenge was really fun and provided me with an opportunity to play with a previously released stamp set that I hadn't had a chance to use yet! And I had so much fun playing with it!

I used the gorgeous Rose Garden Stamp Set to stamp out the largest image from the set using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I stamped it somewhat off the edge of the Razzle Berry card base.  Then I stamped the image again onto a white panel using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, and I die cut a portion of that out using the Tall Snow Globe Die-Namics (I love using holiday product for non-holiday purposes!), knowing that I wanted the design on the tag to align with the image on the card base.  I die cut out another tag from vellum and I adhered the two tags together with a foam square placed on the single rose image. I stamped the single rose image from the Rose Garden Stamp Set, colored it with my Copics, and die cut it using the coordinating die.  I aligned it onto the vellum and adhered it in place with a foam square.  I used the You Impress Me Hot Foil Die to emboss and transfer some heat transfer foil to a Smooth White panel.  I used the All About You Die-Namics to cut that word out!  I stamped a sentiment from the All About You Stamp Set using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink onto Black Licorice Card Stock and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder and then I die cut it using the Skinny Strips Die-Namics.  I adhered both the foiled word and the sentiment strip with foam squares, and adhered some enamel dots for embellishment and balance.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other outstanding birthday cards that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration! And while you're there, why not link up your own take on this month's Birthday Project Challenge for your chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so everyone has a chance to win!

That'll do it for me today, my friends! I'll be back this weekend to share my first project for this month's card kit - and I KNOW you're going to want to be here for that because the new kit is AMAZING! Thanks for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things - December Birthday Project Challenge: CAS!

Hello again!

I'm back again today to share a super fun project fot this month's Birthday Project Challenge!  I channeled my inner Francine Vuilleme (she has mastered the most beautiful rainbow ink blending ever!) and created my project for this month's challenge - which is "clean and simple."

Its not exactly simple - but the white space and minimal elements help this meet the requirements of this month's challenge!!  It features the newly re-released Strike Up the Band Stamp Set, which contains some super cute musical bunnies and some perfectly suited sentiments!  I also used the Musical Notes Background to create my ink resisted background.  I added a strip of paper from the Black & White Stripes Paper Pack for some fun contrast, and the mounted the entire panel onto a Black Licorice card base.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects that my teammates have created for your inspiration!  And while you're there, why not link up your own take on this month's Birthday Project Challenge for your chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the MFT Online Boutique!  It's a random draw, so you have nothing to lose - but you can't win, if you don't play along!

That's it for me today, my friends!  I'll be back again next week with more crafty stuff, but it'll be quiet around here until then.  In fact, hubby and I are winging our way to Seattle to spend the holidays with our kiddos as this goes live!  Thanks so much for stopping by today, and until next time, have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things - November Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello friends!

This one of my most favorite challenges of all the challenges that MFT has to help inspire your creativity!  And this month's Birthday Challenge is no exception!  This month we're challenged to create a birthday design that includes a shaker or slider element.  For this, I couldn't resist pulling out the new Snow Buddies Stamp Set and coordinating dies.  I used a sentiment from the Ready, Set Snow Stamp Set, which was perfect for my project!

So, you know I had to pull out my fave Double Slider Loop Slots Die-Namics to create a slider element.  And I'm obsessive about hiding as much of the mechanism as I can.  So, I adhered a small magnet to the acetate loop and on the back of the image to move that adorable little dachshund back and forth like he's sliding across the snow bank. Here's what it looks like when I pull the pull tab.

And here's a video action shot as I pull the tab back and forth.

I'm so excited about how this turned out (I was inspired to use the magnet by my teammate, Laura - she's so amazingly clever!) and can't wait to use magnets in some of my future projects!  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other outstanding projects that my teammates have created for this month's Birthday Challenge!  And while you're there, why not link up your own slider or shaker element birthday project of your own! If you do, you'll be eligible to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!

That's it for me today, friends!  I'll be back again next week with more crafty stuff!  Thanks for stopping by today, and until next time, have a great day!

My Favorite Things - October Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello everyone!

I'm back again today to share my design for this month's Birthday Project Challenge!  The challenge this month is to create a birthday card using only sentiments and/or word dies - NO IMAGES ALLOWED!  Here's what I came up with!

So, I love, love, love the Bold Beautiful Die-Namics and I knew it would be a perfect focal point without breaking the rules.  I die cut it once out of Black Licorice Card Stock and once out of the striped pattern from the Party Patterns 6 x 6 Paper Pack.  I layered them on top of a piece of vellum and trimmed around the outside border with my detail scissors.  I stamped one of the sentiments from the Bitty Birthday Wishes Stamp Set onto a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink and die cut it using the Skinny Strips Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other super fun projects that my teammates have created for you.  And while you're there, why not link up a design of your own that follows this month's Birthday Project Challenge rules!  If you do, you'll be eligible to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!

That's it for me today, my friends! I'll be back again soon with another crafty project.  Until then, I hope you have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things - April Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello my friends!

I'm popping in today to share a super fun project for this month's Birthday Project Challenge!  This month, we were challenged as follows:

Time to celebrate another trip around the sun with a favorite beverage…coffee or tea for a birthday brunch or maybe cocktails or wine for a night on the town! For this month’s challenge, create a birthday card that includes the drink of your choice. Cheers to another year!

Well, if you know me at all, I loves me some wine, and most of my friends do, too!  So I had to make a wine-themed birthday card!  Here's my answer to the challenge:

I pulled out the Wine Service Die-Namics and created some colorful wine bottles.  I die cut the dome fish-tail flag from some Black Licorice Card Stock using the Tag Builder Blueprints 7.  I stamped the sentiment from the Uncorked Stamp Set onto the flag using some watermark ink and then heat embossed it using Silver Embossing Powder.  I trimmed out a portion of the wine bottles and layered them above and below the sentiment, adhering them with foam squares.  I layered a strip of striped paper from the Black & White Striped 6 x 6 Paper Pack onto the image panel, and then adhered the assembled image panel to a Black Licorice card base.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects created by my super talented teammates!  While you're there, why not link up a drink-themed birthday card of your own to be eligible to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!  It's a random draw, so everyone has a chance to win!

That's it for me today, my friends!  I'm off to lunch with another friend today, and then back to my craft room - lots of crafty goodies coming very soon!  Thanks so much for stopping by today - have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things–Birthday Project Challenge: Numbers!

Hello friends!

Yes, I know it’s been quiet around here!  Busy, busy, busy!!  I’ve been crafting my little fingers to the bone, so I have lots to share with you very, very soon!  But before that happens, I have a project that I created for this month’s Birthday Project Challenge!  And it’s a fun one!

I have two grandkid birthdays in March, and another one in April, so lots of cute number birthday cards are needed for my stash!  I made this one for my grandson, Brenner, who will be turning 7 on the 11th of March!! So I had to pull out my Delightful Dinosaurs Stamp Set and paired it with the super fun Volcano Die-Namics!! I used the Bottlecap Numbers Die-Namics for the 7, and the Bottlecap Letters Die-Namics to personalize it with my grandson’s name!  I really wanted to make it interactive, but in the end decided to just get right to the point.  Oh, and I used my new Picket Fences “life changing” blending brushes with regular distress inks to blend the background and the dinosaur.  Ink blending fans – you MUST get these brushes!!  They truly are life changing!  I’ve listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects that my teammates have created for your inspiration!  While you’re there, be sure and link up a project of your own using a number for a chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!  It’s a random draw, so you’ve got nothing to lose!

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’m filming and editing again today, so will be very busy getting that done!  I hope you have some awesome plans in store for your day and weekend! Thanks for dropping by – I’ll be back very soon!
