My Favorite Things–Creative Construction With Blueprints: Holiday Tags!

Hello friends!!

The My Favorite Things Design Team is sharing some fun holiday tags today, all featuring creative ways to use the line of Tag Builder Blueprints Die-Namics!  I made two sets of tags – one set that’s fun and cute and one set that’s pretty and elegant!

These elegant tags came together pretty quickly since there’s no stamping!  They feature the new Ornamental Medallion Trio Die-Namics and the new Joy Die-Namics, and the tags were created using the Tag Builder Blueprints 5!

The second set of tags feature the snowman from the Scenic Snow Globe Die-Namics, the sentiments from the Snow Globe Sentiments Stamp Set, and the tags were created using Tag Builder Blueprints 2!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used for both sets of tags below!

My Favorite Things – Creative Construction With Blueprints Challenge!

Hello again!

It’s definitely been busy around here on the ol’ bloggo again!  I hope you all don’t mind – the creative juices are just a flowin’ like crazy these days!  I’m popping in today to share a project inspired by the Creative Construction With Blueprints Challenge, which is to use the “peek-a-book” elements contained in any of the Blueprints Die-Namics.  I thought that the “eye” from the Blueprints 31 Die-Namics fit the category of “peek-a-boo” elements.  It provides a “peek” into the ghostly scene that I created using the new Fab-BOO-lous Friends Stamp Set.

How stinkin’ cute is that little ghosty witch?  Here’s how I created my project:

1. Trim a 4.25” x 11” card base from Smooth White Card Stock.  Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
2. Trim a 4.25” x 5.5” panel from Smooth White Card Stock, and die cut the outside edge using the rectangle die from Blueprints 1 Die-Namics.  Repeat this step using a piece of black and white polka dot patterned paper from the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots 6 x 6 Paper Pack.  Adhere the two panels together with a tape runner.
3. Die cut an image panel from Smooth White Card Stock using the scalloped rectangle from Blueprints 1 Die-Namics.
4. Die cut the “eye” from Black Licorice Card Stock using the stitched circle strip from the Blueprints 31 Die-Namics. Temporarily position the stitched circle strip onto the scalloped rectangle panel and mark the outside edges with a pencil.  Mask off the area outside the circle with pieces of post-it tape.
5. Lightly blend some Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet Distress Inks inside the masked off circle using a Mini Ink Blending Tool.  Carefully remove the masking tape.
6. Stamp the witch/ghost and spider from the Fab-BOO-lous Friends Stamp Set onto a scrap of Copic-friendly white card stock using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Die cut the images using the coordinating Fab-BOO-lous Friends Die-Namics.
7. Stamp the spider web and sentiment from the Fab-BOO-lous Friends Stamp Set onto the image panel using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Draw a line from the spider web down to the sentiment using a black marker and a ruler.
8. Adhere the scalloped image panel to the polka dot panel using foam squares.  Adhere the stitched circle strip, witch/ghost and the spider to the scalloped panel using foam squares.
9. Adhere the assembled image panel to the card base using foam squares.

And that’s a wrap!  I’m madly in love with all of the adorable ghosts from the Fab-BOO-lous Friends Stamp Set, and hope to get more chances to play with them before Halloween!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.
