CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #4–Graduation!

CFC04

Today’s the day for another super fun CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  This week’s challenge is to create a Clean and Simple design with a graduation theme.  It can be for high school, elementary school, beauty school, college – even pre-school!!  Now’s your chance to honor your favorite graduate.

CAS-ual Fridays is very generously being sponsored this week by Market Street Stamps.  They’ve got some amazing stamp designs (I have one that I get to ink up very soon!) that I know you’ll love.  There’s a wonderful prize up for grabs to the new T.G.I.F. Club Member this week – check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what it is!  Thank you Market Street Stamps!

CFC04 - Graduation

Here’s my answer to the challenge.  I used another super funtasmic stamp set from A Muse Studio called Con-GRAD-ulations.  The products I used are listed below:

STAMPS:  A MUSE STUDIO (Con-GRAD-ulations)
INK:  FRESH INK (Pool and Slate Pigment Ink); TSUKINEKO (VersaFine Onyx Black)
PAPER:  FRENCH POPTONE (Blu Raspberry and Black Licorice CS); NEENAH CLASSIC CREST (Ultra Smooth Solar White CS)
ACCESSORIES:  DOODLEBUG DESIGNS (Turquoise self-adhesive rhinestones); PAPERTREY INK (Vellum CS); STAMPIN’ UP (Stampin’ Dimensionals)

That’s it for me today!  I hope you’ll head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to submit your entry for this week’s challenge and peruse the fantastic inspiration that the other Girl Fridays have to share with you – you won’t be disappointed, I promise!  Thanks so much for stopping by today – it means the world to me!!

Chevron Chic–Another Moxie Fab Challenge!

NERD ALERT:  I mistakenly said below that the DARLING inspiration for Cath's challenge was created by Courtney Baker (who IS the genius behind Practicing Creativity Designs).  But in fact the card was created by Courtney Kelley - another amazingly talented designer.  I so apologize for getting these two very talented ladies mixed up.  Thanks Jen W. for letting me know!!  No doubt, I should have had more sleep before I drafted this post.  LOL

Hola Chicas!

I am DRAGGING today after my long weekend in Las Vegas with my sister.  Got home at 2:00 AM yesterday morning.  I’ve decided that I’m just too freakin’ old to be staying out late and surviving on just a few hours of sleep.  LOL  But we had a blast – didn’t win anything, but had a blast!

Wishing you Sunshine & Rainbows Edited
I had to pop in today to share the card that I made for the current Moxie Fab Challenge – Chevron Chic.  I know I’ve told you a million times how much I love Cath’s challenges.  She stretches me in ways I never knew I could stretch, and I so appreciate that about her.  Today’s challenge is no exception.  Chevrons – what?!  Now don’t get me wrong – I’m a clean and graphic girl all the way.  It seriously never occurred to me to use something as graphic and linear as chevrons. But they are so the rage these days, so I decided to give it a go (do a search on Pinterest and you’ll see what I mean!).

Not sure how I came up with the idea – it just kinda poBright Birthday Card by Courtney Kelley, p. 25pped into my head.  The lines of the chevron remind me of the gradient effect of a rainbow when stamped in rainbow colors.  The inspiration photo from the challenge was this card by Courtney Baker – the genius and proprietor behind Practicing Creativity Designs[SEE CLARIFICATION ABOVE!]  So, of course, I had to use Courtney’s Retro Christmas Backgrounds set to create the chevrons.  I stamped the image in several different colors, leaving a slight white gap between colors.  The clouds were created with some cloud dies from My Favorite Things and Papertrey Ink.  The sunshine image is from the Scattered Showers Additions set, and the sentiment is from the Up, Up & Away Sentiments set, also from Papertrey Ink.  The button was a last minute addition to add a bit of interest and dimension (like there isn’t enough already, right?!).  Can’t decide if I should have “dressed” the button or not – decided to go with the cleaner look.

That’s it for me today, kids!  Be sure and come back tomorrow for the newest CAS-ual Fridays challenge – it’s a goodie!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great day!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #3–Bring On the Bling!

Hola!

So are you having as much fun with the CAS-ual Fridays challenges as we are?!!  Seriously, the entries have been mind-bogglingly (yes, that’s a word that I just made up! LOL) amazing and so freaking clever!!

CFC03 - Bring on the Bling
This week’s challenge is just as fun as the last two – BLING!!  Like who doesn’t love to add bling to their projects?!!  Especially with Clean and Simple projects because it’s an easy way to make those CAS designs really pop, right?!  So all you have to do is create a clean and simple design and add some bling – rhinestones, glitter, pearls – whatever you’ve got, bling it on!!

CFC03 - Nikki Sivils
Nikki Sivils is the sponsor this week and has provided a very generous and fantastic prize.  You’ll have to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog in order to see what that prize is, however.  Hey, a girl can’t share all her secrets, right?!  LOL  Thank you, Nikki Sivils!!

CFC03 - Bling It Out
This is my response to the Bling It On challenge.  I recently acquired a super fun new stamp set from A Muse Studio called Glamour Girl.  When I saw that hairspray image, I immediately thought of adding a Zva rhinestone flourish in place of the spray.  Fun, right?!  And how funny is that sentiment?!  You can find all the details of the challenge, as well as more beautiful inspiration from the other Girl Fridays over at the CAS-ual Fridays blog.  What’cha waitin’ for?!!  Get movin'!!
PRODUCTS USED:
STAMPS:  A MUSE STUDIO (Glamour Girl)
INK:  FRESH INK (Slate and Pool Pigment Ink)
PAPER:  PAPERTREY INK (Smokey Shadow and Raspberry Fizz CS); FRENCH POPTONE (Sno Cone CS); NEENAH CLASSIC CREST (Ultra Smooth Solar White CS)
ACCESSORIES:  WE R  MEMORY KEEPERS (Corner Chomper); PAPERTREY INK (Tin Types Impression Plate); PROVO CRAFT (Cuttlebug); SPELLBINDERS (Labels 9 and Classic Circle Dies); ZVA (Rhinestone Flourish); STAMPIN’ UP! (Self-Adhesive Rhinestones)

That’s it for me today, peeps.  I can’t wait to see what you all come up with for this uber fun and sparkly challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I’m headed to Las Vegas for a fun little weekend getaway with my sister.  Wish me luck!!

First Birthdays . . . and a CAS-ual Fridays Reminder!

Happy Wednesday, Peeps!

Breckens First Birthday

Popping in today to share the card that I made for my grandson’s first birthday.  He was so stinkin’ cute at his party – laughing and playing with the other kids.  And my daughter really did a great job of creating a super cute and fun theme!
I love the colors and patterns of this new My Mind’s Eye DP  - the word paper reminds me of subway art, which I’m kind of obsessed with these days.  If I had it do over again, though, I’d heat emboss the “Happy” at the top – it needs to pop more.  Otherwise, I was pretty happy with how this turned out!

First Birthday
Here’s a picture of Brecken eating his birthday cake – I guess they call the little cakes a “smash cake”.  I assume that’s because it gets smashed all over their face and hands?  LOL  When he laughs, it’s simply the best . . . .

Check out these delicious (I'm not even exaggerating) cookies that my brilliant friend, Terri (Fresh Cut Flours), made for Brecken's birthday.  These babies flew out the door when the guests realized that they were not only stinkin' cute but delicious, too!!  Seriously, people were hoarding them in their purses and coats!!  LOL

CFC02 - Buttons and Twine Avatar

That’s it for me today, kids.  I’ve been creating the last couple of days, so I have some goodies to share with you over the next couple of days.  Thanks so much for stopping by – I hope you’ll visit again real soon!!

So all you have to do is create a card with a Clean and Simple design, and include buttons and twine in your project!!

Buttons and Twine are two of my most favorite go-to embellishments – I reach for them nearly every time I create.  There’s just something about the whimsical feel that both buttons and twine add to a project that I just can’t help myself.  Here’s what I created for the challenge:
