25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Avery Elle–Fall 2017 New Release Blog Hop!

Hello!

It’s time for the Avery Elle Fall 2017 Release Blog Hop!  And let me just tell you, you are going to LOVE this release!!  I was thrilled to be able to work with the brand new Merry Flowers Stamp Set and the coordinating Merry Flowers Dies.  It’s super fun and festive!

There’s nothing more holiday-ish to me than a gorgeous Poinsettia and holly bouquet, with a little eucalyptus thrown in for good measure!!  I think Jamie NAILED the Merry Flowers Stamp Set, and I was thrilled to get the chance to play with it for the hop!  Here’s how I created the card:

1. Trim an A2, vertical, top-folding card base from red card stock. Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
2. Die cut the outside edge of an A2 panel of white card stock using the Double Pierced Rectangle Dies, and die cut a rectangle aperture from the image panel using one of the smaller Double Pierced Rectangle Dies.
3. Stamp the floral image from the Merry Flowers Stamp Set TWICE onto white card stock using New Moon Dye Ink.  Color the images with Copic Markers (R14, R17, R24, Y18, BG18, BG75, YG17, YG67, G99, and YG61).  Die cut one of the images with the coordinating Merry Flowers Die. Trim out the largest of the poinsettias in the second image with detail scissors, and adhere it to the full image with foam squares.
4. Temporarily position the image panel onto the card base, prep the aperture with a powder tool, and stamp the script sentiment onto the card base using Pure White Pigment Ink.  Heat emboss the sentiment with Pure White Embossing Powder.
5. Stamp the other sentiment onto the image panel, below the aperture, with New Moon Dye Ink.
6. Wrap Midnight Hemp Twine around the bottom of the image panel and tie it into a bow.
7. Adhere the image panel to the card base with foam squares.
8. Adhere the floral image to  the card base with foam squares.
9. Adhere Sparkling Clear Sequins to the image panel using Multi Medium Matte adhesive.

Avery Elle–Floral Bouquet!

Hello all!!

It’s Fri-YAY, so that must mean that I’m up on the Avery Elle Design Team Blog.  And I’m sad to say, it’s my last post as an official, full time design team member of Avery Elle.  It’s truly been a dream come true to work with the amazing lady behind Avery Elle – Jamie Gracz is a creative genius, and a phenomenal business woman.  I know that Avery Elle is destined for great things with Jamie at the helm!  She works so hard to inspire this creative community, and I think she does a pretty darned good job, don’t you?!!  I’ve been so blessed to be a part of this team, and even more grateful for the friendships I’ve acquired as a result.  I will truly miss working with these ladies.  I plan to pop in occasionally with some Avery Elle inspiration, so don’t think for a second that I’ll be leaving it behind completely!  But I want to thank Jamie, from the bottom of my heart, for giving me this amazing opportunity, for being my friend, and for just being plain AWESOME! Okay, I’m getting weepy just writing this, so I’d better move on to sharing my project, eh?!  LOL

Floral Bouquet Stamp Set

So, I had a blast with this project, featuring the Floral Bouquet Stamp Set, and coordinating dies.  Here’s how I created it:

1. Trim an A2, vertical, top-folding card base from steel gray card stock.  Score at 5.5”, fold in half, and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
2. Stamp the main floral image and the sentiment from the Floral Bouquet Stamp Set onto the card base using Pure White Pigment Ink. Heat emboss the images using White Embossing Powder.
3. Color the image using three shades of blue colored pencils (the flowers), three shades of green colored pencils (the leaves), and a red colored pencil (the berries).
4. Trim an A2 piece of white card stock.
5. Temporarily position the Floral Bouquet die onto the card base using washi tape.  Slide the white panel behind the die, about half way down the floral image, and secure the panel to the die with more washi tape.  Remove the washi tape that is securing the die to the card base, and run the die and white panel through a manual die cutting machine.  Position and adhere the white panel to the card base with foam squares.  Trim off the upper portion of the white panel using scissors or a paper trimmer.
6. Adhere Sparkling Clear Sequins to the card base using Multi Matte Medium adhesive.  Adhere a strip of gray and white striped pattern paper to the upper portion of the white panel, to break up the white space.

There you have it!  The Floral Bouquet Stamp Set is great for showcasing a dramatic focal image!  Detailed and dramatic – what more could you ask for?!!  I’ve linked the products that I used above.  Please click on through to the Avery Elle Design Blog for more lovely inspiration!

Avery Elle–Extraordinary!

Happy Fri-YAY!!

It’s an especially great day for me today, as my youngest daughter and her family are returning from East Asia after being gone for six weeks!!  We’ve missed them terribly, and can’t wait to see their faces and hug them!  They’ve had quite an adventure, and I’m sure they’ll have tons of great stories to share about their travels.  And I know my granddaughter, Lucy, has grown since they left, so I can’t wait to see how much she’s changed!  Fun stuff, I tell ya!

But before I pick them up from the airport, I wanted to pop in quickly to share a project that I created for Avery Elle using the Extraordinary Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

Yes, my friends!  It’s a Narwhal!!  Now, I always thought that Narwhals were mythical creatures!  But I was mistaken!  They really do exist!  I’ve never seen one – but they do, indeed, exist!  Anyways, I masked off the upper and lower portion of the image panel and did some ink blending for the sea.  I stamped some fishies (from the Swim Team Stamp Set) using some Aquamarine Pigment Ink.  I stamped the Narwahl image from the Extraordinary Stamp Set using New Moon Dye Ink.  I stamped it a second time onto some masking material and cut out the center of the image with my scissors, leaving only the outside line of the image on the mask.  I placed the mask around the stamped image and did some ink blending, to add some magical coloring to this mystery mammal.  Wouldn’t it be fun if they really were multi-colored like this? LOL  I used the coordinating Extraordinary Dies to die cut the image, and I adhered it to the image panel with some foam squares.  The sentiment is stamped using New Moon Dye Ink and is also from the Extraordinary Stamp Set.

Avery Elle–Birthday Bus!

I’m popping in today to share another project for Avery Elle!  This one, I think you’re all going to love, because it was designed with THE most adorable stamp set!  The Birthday Bus Stamp Set and coordinating dies are too freakin’ cute for words!!

Was I right, or was I right?!!  I mean, those critters driving the bus on their way to a birthday party just crack me UP!!  The cuteness factor is out of this world!!  So I stamped, colored and die cut the bus, packages, and birthday balloon from the Birthday Bus Stamp Set.  I created a little scene using the Picket Fence Dies, and the sentiment from the Birthday Bus Stamp Set was stamped in Pure White Pigment Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used to create this project above.

I mean, come ON!! How cute is that orange octopus!!  I just love him, and honestly all of the underwater critters in the Bubbles Clear Stamps are beyond adorable!!  I stamped Mr. Octopus onto some orange card stock using Pure White Pigment Ink and heat embossed him with white embossing powder.  I die cut him out with the coordinating Bubbles Dies.  I stamped the waves image from the Bubbles Clear Stamps using Sea Glass Pigment Ink and Aquamarine Pigment Ink.  The banners were created using the Scalloped Banner Dies.  The sentiment was stamped using Fizz Pigment Ink.

Avery Elle–Tropics!

If it’s Friday, I think you all know by now that it’s my day up on the Avery Elle Design Blog!!  I’m sharing a project featuring the Tropics Stamp Set!

The Tropics Stamp Set is a set full of awesomely bold and graphic tropical leaves and flowers.  I decided to use many of the images contained in the set to create a bit of a background.  I used several of the Avery Elle Pigment Inks to get a variegation of colors in the leaves and flowers.  I cut the image panel using the Custom Panels Dies, and then used the long edge of the large rectangle die to cut the angle between the two pieces to make room for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Big Greetings Stamp Set – one of my faves for larger scripty sentiments that take center stage.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below the photograph.

Avery Elle–Modern Alphabet and Sentimental Too!

I’m back today to share a couple of projects that I created using some awesome new products from the Avery Elle Spring 2017 Release!  My first project features the new Modern Alphabet Stamp Set, which is an awesome stamp set – it’s even better when you pair it with the coordinating Modern Alphabet Dies!

So, the the Modern Alphabet Stamp Set has two separate alphabets – a bold solid, as well as an open font.  Super versatile for building your own sentiments or personalizing any project!  And the Modern Alphabet Dies, as you can see in the word “Dream”!  Right?!!  No stamp collection should be without the new Modern Alphabet Stamp Set, and coordinating dies.

My second project features the new Sentimental Too Stamps – a sequel to the original Sentimental Stamp Set.  Again, this stamp set has companion dies that take this sentiment building stamp set to the next level!  I paired the sentiments from the Sentimental Too Stamps with the presents from the Christmas Packages Stamp Set – after a bit of stamp surgery, of course.  Hee hee hee

Avery Elle–Mom & Dad!

If it’s Friday, it must mean that I’m up on the Avery Elle Design Blog!  I’m popping in quickly to share another project that I created using the Mom & Dad Stamp Set and coordinating Mom & Dad Dies from Avery Elle!  The Mom & Dad Stamp Set is so incredibly versatile and can be used for many familial occasions!!

I also used the new Diagonal Stripes Elle-ments that I just love!  The detail that this full card die adds to a project is amazing.  Don’t be surprised if you see it being used often in my projects!  Just sayin’ . . . .  I stamped the beautiful floral spray from the Mom & Dad Stamp Set in some light gray and highlighted the image with some Copic Markers.  I stamped the sentiment, also from the Mom & Dad Stamp Set, and die cut “Mom” using the coordinating Mom & Dad Dies!  Easy, peasy!

Oh my goodness . . . how cute are those little beach huts?  I love them so much!  I have to say, when I’m at the beach, I’m in my happy place.  And I’m not kidding when I tell you that we saw some darling beach huts like this in Positano, Italy on our trip!!  They looked EXACTLY like these ones!  Caryn Davies knocked the Beside the Sea Stamps outta the park!  Love it!
