My Favorite Things - December Outside the Box Challenge!

Hello again!

I'm popping in again today with another fun challenge project, this one for the Outside the Box Challenge! I tell ya what - these box cards are addicting and so much fun to create! This month's challenge was to create a box card with a winter scene. I used the Outside the Box - Level Up Die-Namics, and the Outside the Box Snow Drifts to create my wintery scene, and added some holiday penguins and accessories from the Polar Penguins Stamp Set!

I am seriously so in love with creating these box cards. They have some serious dimension which just adds up to an incredible wow factor! And it folds to fit inside an A2 envelope! How cool is that?! Here's a side view of the dimension!

My Favorite Things - A Brand New Challenge: Outside the Box!

 Hello friends!

I'm so excited to be sharing a project that I've created for the brand spankin' new Outside the Box Challenge! This challenge has been added to the amazing family of MFT Challenges, and I can tell you it will be a fun one! This month the theme is "anything goes", but future Outside the Box Challenges will have a theme, so get ready for some fun inspiration for using the Outside the Box Die-Namics!

I wanted to use the Little Town of Bethlehem Die-Namics to create a beautiful holiday scene inside my box. So, I die cut three of the four dies from the Little Town of Bethlehem Die-Namics borders from Grout Gray card stock and layered them inside the box by adhering each piece to a shelf piece from the Outside the Box Die-Namics - that way, each piece had tabs to adhere to the inside of the box. I used the Starry Night - Horizontal Die-Namics to die cut the back layer piece from After Midnight card stock. I die cut the star from the Little Town of Bethlehem Die-Namics from Silver Sparkle card stock. The sentiment is from the Snow Globe Sentiments Stamp Set, and I stamped it onto After Midnight card stock using embossing ink, heat embossed it with silver embossing powder, and die cut it using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-Namics. I inked up the English Brick Wall Stencil on the smaller box layer pieces using Grout Gray Dye Ink, and adhered them to the outside of the box. My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #497!

Hello everyone!

I'm back again today with a super cute project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! The sketch for me was a bit of a challenge (I guess that's the point, right?! LOL), but once I had a vision, I was excited to execute it! And I'm super pleased with how it turned out! Here's this week's sketch:

I hadn't had a chance to ink up the new Perfect Pool Stencil from this month's release, so I just had to use it to enhance the previously released Pool Die-Namics. I created a mask using the Pool Die-Namics and went to town inking up the stencil per Laura's brilliant instructions HERE. I could not believe how realistic the pool looks once you rotate and ink it up a few times! It was a hoot, and I can't wait to ink it up again! I paired the pool with the cutie girl from the Drink Up the Sunshine Stamp Set, and I inserted her into a Polaroid Shaker Frame die cut, after stamping the sentiment from the Sunny Vibes Stamp Set! I added a few clear droplets for embellishments and adhered the image panel to a Pineapple card base! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #483!

Hello again!

I'm popping in today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  It's a lovely sketch, and lends itself perfectly to my favorite kind of design - clean and simple, with a little bit of graphic thrown in for good measure!  Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my interpretation of the sketch:

I used the Gift Tag Die-Namics to create the dome-shaped aperture from a 4" x 5.25" Smooth White panel.  I adhered some rainbow-order strips (colors listed below) that I created using the Straight-Up Rainbow Die-Namics onto the card base so that they aligned towards the left side of the aperture.  I die cut the Scripty Smile Die-Namics, three times from Smooth White and once from Black Licorice card stock, and I adhered the layers together with a glue pen.  I die cut some of the flowers, stems and leaves from Smooth White using the Stitched Garden Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - December Birthday Project Challenge: CAS!

Hello again!

I'm back again today to share a super fun project fot this month's Birthday Project Challenge!  I channeled my inner Francine Vuilleme (she has mastered the most beautiful rainbow ink blending ever!) and created my project for this month's challenge - which is "clean and simple."

Its not exactly simple - but the white space and minimal elements help this meet the requirements of this month's challenge!!  It features the newly re-released Strike Up the Band Stamp Set, which contains some super cute musical bunnies and some perfectly suited sentiments!  I also used the Musical Notes Background to create my ink resisted background.  I added a strip of paper from the Black & White Stripes Paper Pack for some fun contrast, and the mounted the entire panel onto a Black Licorice card base.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch #464!

Hello again!

I'm back today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  It's a beautiful sketch that lends itself to so many options!  I used the Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set and the Basic Shapes: Circle Stencil to create the focal images, and I used the Bitty Holiday Wishes Stamp Set for the sentiment.  Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my interpretation of this week's sketch:

So I really wanted to do more of a soft, non-traditional holiday color scheme.  So I heat embossed the three snowflake images with clear embossing powder, and then used the circle apertures in the stencil to ink blend some Summer Splash, Razzle Berry and Grape Jelly Dye Inks over the top of the embossed images.  The sentiment was stamped with Summer Splash Dye Ink and die cut using the Skinny Strips Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - November Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello friends!

This one of my most favorite challenges of all the challenges that MFT has to help inspire your creativity!  And this month's Birthday Challenge is no exception!  This month we're challenged to create a birthday design that includes a shaker or slider element.  For this, I couldn't resist pulling out the new Snow Buddies Stamp Set and coordinating dies.  I used a sentiment from the Ready, Set Snow Stamp Set, which was perfect for my project!

So, you know I had to pull out my fave Double Slider Loop Slots Die-Namics to create a slider element.  And I'm obsessive about hiding as much of the mechanism as I can.  So, I adhered a small magnet to the acetate loop and on the back of the image to move that adorable little dachshund back and forth like he's sliding across the snow bank. Here's what it looks like when I pull the pull tab.

I'm so excited about how this turned out (I was inspired to use the magnet by my teammate, Laura - she's so amazingly clever!) and can't wait to use magnets in some of my future projects!  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - October Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello everyone!

I'm back again today to share my design for this month's Birthday Project Challenge!  The challenge this month is to create a birthday card using only sentiments and/or word dies - NO IMAGES ALLOWED!  Here's what I came up with!

So, I love, love, love the Bold Beautiful Die-Namics and I knew it would be a perfect focal point without breaking the rules.  I die cut it once out of Black Licorice Card Stock and once out of the striped pattern from the Party Patterns 6 x 6 Paper Pack.  I layered them on top of a piece of vellum and trimmed around the outside border with my detail scissors.  I stamped one of the sentiments from the Bitty Birthday Wishes Stamp Set onto a piece of Black Licorice Card Stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink and die cut it using the Skinny Strips Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - August Birthday Project Challenge!

I'm baaacckkkk!!

As promised yesterday, I'm back again today (man, it's been a busy week on the ol' blog!) with a project inspired by this month's Birthday Project Challenge!  And can I just say that I love these kinds of challenges because who doesn't always need birthday cards in their stash?!  I know I ALWAYS do!  So this month's challenge is to create a birthday card and include a fun way to present a gift card!  So my project was not only inspired by the challenge, but it was also inspired by the color scheme in the gift card that I used!

I decided to pull out the Double Slider Loop Slots Die-Namics and create a Double Slider Surprise card.  When you pull on the tab, this is what happens:

If you look at the top of the card, you can see that gift card peeking out from the behind the rainbow!  Pretty cute, huh?!  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - June Birthday Project: Peek-a-boo!!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #438!

Well, hello!

Did you think I fell off the face of the earth?  I'm up to my eyeballs in deadlines and trying to get my head above water in between cuddles and kisses from my visiting grandkids.  It's so hard to focus on work when those beautiful blue eyes are begging me to play with them!  So finding balance has been a struggle, for sure.  But I'm so happy to be here today to share a project that I created and was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  Here's this week's sketch:

I am just in LOVE with the Watermelon Slice Die-Namics!!  And I just knew they'd be the perfect focal point for this week's sketch!  I used Blueprints 33 for the frame around the watermelon slice, and the Stitched Basic Edges Die-Namics and the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-Namics to create the angled top panel.  The All Lined Up Background stamp was used to create that sweet gingham background.  And the sentiment is from the Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch #436!

Hello my loves!

I'm back again today to share a project that I created that was inspired by this week's Sketch Challenge!  It's a super simple sketch that leaves much to your own interpretation - I love that kind of sketch!  Here's this week's sketch:

When I work with sketches, I like to squint my eyes and look at the sketch to see what I see.  When I squinted my eyes on this sketch, I saw a rainbow with a cloud!  So I adhered some colorful card stock strips to some double sided adhesive to create the rainbow, and adhered them to an image panel.  I used the Cloud Shaker Window & Frame Die-Namics to create the cloud and stamped the sentiment from the Bring Out the Sunshine Stamp Set!  I die cut the sunshine from Lemon Drop Card Stock using the Sunny Skies Die-Nanamics!  And lastly, I adhered some clear sequins for some detail!  I've listed the MFT Products that I used below.
