My Favorite Things–August Release Countdown Day 1!

Hello again!

Print

We are soooo close to the August Release!!  Today’s project features the Birds of a Feather Die-Namics and the From All of Us Stamp Set

KKL_AUG0618-CD-Day-1

I used a technique that I love when I’ve got a set of tiny dies.  I blended several different distress inks onto some Distress Watercolor Paper and heavily spritzed them with water.  Once they dried, I used the dies from the Birds of a Feather Die-Namics to die cut most of the images from each panel.  I then arranged them close together, making sure that the two birds were facing each other and had a heart between them.  I then placed a piece of Press N’ Seal plastic wrap over the top of the die cuts to hold them in place, and used the largest of the Stitched Heart STAX Die-Namics to cut them into a shape.  I dry embossed the same die into a Smooth White panel, and stamped the sentiment from the From All of Us Stamp Set using some Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  I placed small bits of foam tape on the back of each of the die cuts, and adhered them to the image panel, using the embossed heart as a placement guide.  Then I carefully peeled away the Press N’ Seal plastic wrap to reveal the heart-shaped pattern.  The image panel was adhered to the an Orange Zest card base with foam squares, and embellished with Sparkling Clear Sequins.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Hello all!

I’m so excited to be popping in quickly today to share that Shay from Winnie & Walter invited me a while ago to be a Special Guest Star for her!  I was honored and thrilled to say yes, and had a so much fun playing with some of Winnie & Walter’s amazing stamps and dies!

Avery Elle–Beautiful Bow!

Happy Friday, sweet peeps!!

This is going to be a bit of a drive by posting, as I’m babysitting my granddaughter!!  Gramma’s having a hard time keeping up!  LOL  But I really wanted to pop in and share another project that I created for the recent Fall 2015 Avery Elle Release!

9-18-15-Beautiful-Bow

This project features the new stamp set called Beautiful Bow.  I should also mention that I had a heck of a time photographing this project!!  Between the silver embossing and the sapphire image panel, my camera was not liking the combo.  But my eye sure does!!!  I love that silver embossed bow and tag against that classic blue background.  This would make a beautiful wedding card!  I used the Double Pierced Rectangle Elle-Ments to add that delicious pierced detail around the outside edge of the image panel.  I’ve listed all of the products I used below.  Oh and I hope you’ll drop by the Avery Elle Design Blog to see more amazing inspiration using the new release!!  You won’t be disappointed!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends.  I’ve got a super busy weekend planned – and a date on Sunday with the boys and the Wild Kratts Live!!  If you have little ones, you might be familiar with the Wild Kratts show.  My grandsons love them, so seeing them live should be a hoot!  I hope you have a great weekend, too!!

AEI♥U Challenge #24–Spring!

ALERT:  THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY – YOU CAN FIND MY AVERY ELLE DESIGN TEAM PROJECT FOR THIS WEEK HERE.
Hello sweet peeps!!

Man!  Has it been a lousy week for me!!  I’ve literally been sick in bed for two full weeks!!  But I finally feel like I’m on the downswing of this thing and am so happy about that!!  I also haven’t been able to spend as much time in my craft room as I would have liked, but I did get a few projects created.  And the new AEI♥U Challenge is one of them.  So let’s get to it, shall we?

Challenge 24

I don’t know about you all, but I love spring!!!  Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, love is in the air, babies are being born, kids are getting antsy for the end of the school year, and it’s just an all around happy time – don’t you agree?!!  Here’s my take on the inspiration:

Challenge 24 - Spring

One of the things that really reminds me of spring is weddings.  I remember when my girls were in their sororities, and a common sentiment heard this time of year was “ring by spring.”  Who doesn’t love a good wedding, right?!!  So my card was super simple to create (again, I had limited energy and time in my craft room, so it had to be simple):

  1. Trim an A2 top folding card base from white cardstock; score at 5.5” and use a teflon bone folder to perfect the crease.
  2. Die cut a label from Sea Glass cardstock using the You’re Invited Elle-Ments.
  3. After a little stamp surgery, stamp the sentiment from Save the Date using VersaMark, and heat emboss it with Silver Twinkle embossing powder.
  4. Wrap silver elastic cord around the card base and tie into a bow. Adhere the label to the card base with foam squares.
  5. Again, doing a bit of stamp surgery, stamp the diamond from Many Thanks onto some white cardstock using VersaMark; heat emboss with White Diamond embossing powder; fussy cut the diamond and adhere it to the label with foam squares.
  6. Adhere a few clear sequins with liquid adhesive.

Couldn’t get any easier than that, right?  Simple yet elegant.  In my opinion, the best kind of wedding card.  I’ve listed the products I used below.  You should totally click on through to the AEI♥U Challenge Blog to see the loveliness that my sweet teammates have created for your inspiration!  There are TWO $25 Avery Elle Gift Certificates up for grabs, and you have until Sunday, May 25th to play along!!  We can’t wait to see what you will create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends.  I’ll be spending the entire weekend in my craft room . . . at least that’s the plan today.  Let’s hope that this horrid cold is on board with that plan, too!  Have a great weekend!!
