My Favorite Things - Hits & Highlights Creative Team Challenge!

Hello loves!

I'm popping in for one more crafty post for June! The MFT Design Team was challenged to "bring on the heat" using any of the products (stamps, dies, etc.) from the Beach, Sea and Summer themed product collection! I hadn't had a chance to use the Every Day Is a Picnic Stamp Set and coordinating dies, so I had to ink it up! Now, I think you all know that I'm from the Seattle area, and we don't see summer around here until AFTER the 4th of July! But I can tell you that when summer finally arrives, there's nothing more beautiful than a summer day in the Northwest! And nothing screams summer to me than a picnic in the park!

How cute is that little picnic girl?! I swear, that Birdie Brown nails the sweet spirit in her young people images. I had a blast coloring her up! I used the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-Namics to create the gingham blanket from one of the Tiny Check 6 x 6 Paper Pack! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other summery hot projects that my brilliant teammates have created for you! No doubt you'll be inspired to bring on some crafty heat of your own!

That's it for me today, my loves! I'm knocking out some new projects featuring the upcoming July release, so get ready for some spectacular stuff because it's coming your way starting this Thursday! Until then, stay safe and have a great day!

My Favorite Things - April Hits & Highlights Creative Team Challenge!

NOTE:  This is the first of two posts on my blog today!  I hope you'll pop back in shortly to check out the project and process video that I created for you - it'll be up in about 30 minutes!

Well hello again!

Today a few of us from the MFT Design Team were challenged to create projects that either spin, slide or leap for this month's Hits & Highlights Creative Team Challenge!  I chose to make a project that features the Spin & Slide Channel Die-Namics and the Interactive Pull Tabs to make the turtle and the the snail meet in the middle.  Here's what it looks like before the tab is pulled:

And here's what it looks like after the tab is pulled:

I just love the turtle and snail images from the Cute Critters Stamp Set.  That little envelope is an image from the Tweethearts Stamp Set.  I used several interactive dies, besides the Spin & Slide Channels Die-Namics, to make both critters move towards the middle to each other.  Here's a picture of what the mechanics of the card looks like "behind the scenes," including the Spin & Slide Channels Die-Namics.

I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.  Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other interactive cards that my other teammates have created for your inspiration!  There's some super cute stuff to see, for sure!  Oh, and here's some info on a special sale for you, today only (I've linked the products for your convenience in locating them in the MFT Online Boutique)!!

Today only, enjoy 25% off the featured products:
Leaping Slider Channels, Interactive Pull Tabs, Spin & Slide Channels, Spin & Slide Discs, Slider Elements
No code necessary.

That's it for me today, my friends!!  I'll be back in a few days to share my first project for the May Release!  Until then, I sure hope you have an awesome day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’m back today to share a project that was inspired by this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  This week’s sketch offers tons of opportunity to get creative, and I certainly had fun creating with it!  Here’s this week’s sketch:

And here’s my project:

I used the Mod Rectangle STAX Die-Namics and the Mod Square STAX Die-Namics to take the place of the triangles in the sketch, and I masked off the spaces on the card base and ink blended them with some rainbow distress inks.  The sentiment and rainbow and hearts are from the Rainbows & Unicorns Stamp Set.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous designs that my teammates have created for your inspiration!  While you’re there, why not link up your own project inspired by this week’s Sketch Challenge!  You’ll be eligible to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique if you do!  And it’s a random draw, so everyone has a chance!

That’s it for me today, friends!  We’ve got lots of stuff going on at our house – my middle grandson and son-in-law arrive today for a quick visit, and we’re in the middle of a master bath remodel!  So yeah – things are a little chaotic around here!  But I’ll be back very soon with more crafty stuff, so I hope you’ll stop by for another visit real soon!

My Favorite Things–Wednesday Sketch #426!

Hello again!

I’m back again today, as promised, with a project that was inspired by this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  In fact, I loved the sketch so much, I used it to create my card for yesterday!  LOL

I pulled out my fave Stitched Cloud Edges Die-Namics to create a slanted bank of clouds.  I used the Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil to create the sunrays behind the clouds, and the Inside & Out Stitched Circle Die-Namics to create the center of the sun, and the Simply Hello & Love You Die-Namics to create the stacked sentiment.  The word sunshine is from the Full of Sunshine Stamp Set, and was die cut using the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip Die-Namics.  I’ve listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous creations that my sweet teammates have created for you!  While you’re there, why not link up a project inspired by this week’s sketch challenge of your own!  If you do, you’ll be eligible to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!  It’s a random draw, so you have absolutely nothing to lose!

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’ll be frantically creating in my craft room today because I have lots and lots of deadlines looming over my head!  But I’ll be back tomorrow with a new project and a video to share with you, so I hope you’ll drop by again real soon!  Have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things–February Hits & Highlights!

Hello friends!!

I’m back today with a super fun project that I created for this month’s Hits & Highlights feature!!  This month, the DT was challenged to play with our Tic Tac Toe pieces!!  Here’s what I came up with!

I adhered the the X’s and O’s from the Tic Tac Toe White and Tic Tac Toe Black to my red angled panel with some Glossy Accents.  They were super easy to adhere, and I think add a super fun and unexpected dimension to the card.  The sentiment was created by doing a bit of “stamp surgery” to two sentiments from the Birdie Brown Greetings Galore Stamp Set!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

That’s it for me today, my friends!! I’ll be back tomorrow with another sketch project for you, so I hope you’ll drop by again real soon!  Have a great day!

My Favorite Things–Birthday Project Challenge: Numbers!

Hello friends!

Yes, I know it’s been quiet around here!  Busy, busy, busy!!  I’ve been crafting my little fingers to the bone, so I have lots to share with you very, very soon!  But before that happens, I have a project that I created for this month’s Birthday Project Challenge!  And it’s a fun one!

I have two grandkid birthdays in March, and another one in April, so lots of cute number birthday cards are needed for my stash!  I made this one for my grandson, Brenner, who will be turning 7 on the 11th of March!! So I had to pull out my Delightful Dinosaurs Stamp Set and paired it with the super fun Volcano Die-Namics!! I used the Bottlecap Numbers Die-Namics for the 7, and the Bottlecap Letters Die-Namics to personalize it with my grandson’s name!  I really wanted to make it interactive, but in the end decided to just get right to the point.  Oh, and I used my new Picket Fences “life changing” blending brushes with regular distress inks to blend the background and the dinosaur.  Ink blending fans – you MUST get these brushes!!  They truly are life changing!  I’ve listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects that my teammates have created for your inspiration!  While you’re there, be sure and link up a project of your own using a number for a chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!  It’s a random draw, so you’ve got nothing to lose!

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’m filming and editing again today, so will be very busy getting that done!  I hope you have some awesome plans in store for your day and weekend! Thanks for dropping by – I’ll be back very soon!

My Favorite Things–Wednesday Sketch #424!

Hello my loves!!

I’m popping in today to share a fun project that was inspired by this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  I used one of my favorite older MFT Stamp Sets – the Meant to Bee Stamp Set, and the Honeycomb Background Stamp.  Here’s this week’s Sketch:

And here’s my interpretation of the sketch:

You can see I used the Stitched Hexagon STAX Die-Namics  to represent the circles in the sketch.  I dry embossed to the two upper hexagons using an Embossing Pad and my Big Shot (I love this look).  And the rest is from the Meant to Bee Stamp Set.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects inspired by this week’s Sketch Challenge.  And while you’re there, why not link up a project of your own using the sketch as your inspiration for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!  It’s a random draw, so you’ve got nothing to lose!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be hanging out in my craft room today – trying to get a video filmed and edited!  I hope you have some awesome plans in store for your day! Have a good one!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challege #421!

Hello friends!!

It’s been a crazy week and a half, but I finally had a chance to sit down and create a project for this week’s Sketch Challenge!  I was watching the news last night and was shocked at all of the snow that’s been falling all over much of the United States!  I tend to forget that the rest of the country is freezing their little tushies off while we’re basking in the sunshine and very moderate temps!!  So this inspired me to pull out one of my holiday stamp sets, and try to make a non-holiday card!!  Here’s this week’s sketch:

And here’s my take on this week’s sketch:

As I said above, I pulled out my favorite holiday stamp set of 2018 – the Tweet Holidays Stamp Set – and sets to work!  It actually came together pretty easily once I decided which set to use.  And I actually really love being able to stretch my stamp sets by looking at them and trying to apply them to non-holiday occasions!  You should try it some time – get more use out of those holiday stamps!!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects inspired by this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  While you’re there, why not link up your own take on this week’s sketch for a random chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!  You’ve got nothing to lose!

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’ll be running around returning some items that have been collecting for a few weeks now.  Sounds like fun, right?! Ha! Thanks so much for stopping by today – I am ever so grateful for any time that you spend here with me!  Have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things–Wednesday Sketch Challenge #420!!

Hello kids!!

MFT_SketchChallenge_2017Logo

I’m back today to share a project that was inspired by this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  You all know how much I love a sketch challenge because whenever my mojo is missing, they help spark it back up!  Here’s this week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_420

And here’s my interpretation of the sketch:

KKL_WSC420-1-16-19

Okay, so I finally had a chance to play with the Heart Tree Die-Namics.  It’s a super fun die that is really easy to make into clean and simple designs, but would also work great with more detailed designs!  And it provided me another fun opportunity to do my favorite alcohol ink smearing technique that I swiped from Laurie Willison!  LOL  I paired the Heart Tree Die-Namics with the Sweet Celebrations Stamp Set, which fit perfectly in between those two lines of glitter.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous designs that were inspired by this week’s sketch challenge!  While you’re there, why not link up your own take on this week’s sketch for a random chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!

That’s it for me today, friends!!  We’re enjoying some awesome beach time with friends this week, but I’ll be back very soon with more crafty goodness!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a good one!

Hello my loves!!

I’m popping in again today to share a project that was inspired by this week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge!!  It’s an interesting sketch that I think has lots of possibilities!  Here’s this week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_415

And here is my interpretation of the sketch:

KKL_WSC415

I’m just not ready to give up making holiday cards just yet.  So I grabbed the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings Stamp Set and used one of the pine branches to create a wreath.  The sentiment is from the Trio of Trees Stamp Set.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other awesome projects that my sweet teammies have created for your inspiration using this week’s sketch!  While you’re there, why not link up your own project inspired by this week’s sketch?  You’ll be eligible for a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Store if your project is randomly chosen!  Maybe it’ll inspire you to create a few more holiday cards for your own stash!

My Favorite Things–November Hits & Highlights Challenge!

Hello friends!!

Print

I’m popping in quickly to share the project that I created for this month’s Hits & Highlights Challenge!  Here’s the challenge posed to the design team:

Hits & Highlights this month is all about the bringing the feel of winter to your holiday with a cool palette featuring blues and purples…bring a little shiver of delight with wintry colors evocative of falling snow and twinkling lights.

And this is my answer to the challenge:

KKL_NOV2718-Hits-&-Highlights

I just can’t get enough of the Snowflake Window Die-Namics.  It’s such a beautifully intricate die that just speaks to me.  So, I was thrilled to have another opportunity to use it on this challenge!  To satisfy the requirements of the challenge, I lightly blended some Salty Ocean  and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks to create the background.  The sentiment is from the Snow Globe Sentiments Stamp Set.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below, for your information.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other beautiful projects created by my teammates for today’s challenge!  I know you’ll be inspired!

That’s it for me today, friends!!  I’m out of town at the moment, but I’ll be back very soon with more crafty goodness!  Thanks so much for stopping by – it’s the best part of my day!

My Favorite Things–November Birthday Project Challenge!

Hello my loves!!

Print

I’m super excited to be back again today to share my project for this month’s Birthday Project Challenge!!  The challenge was to create something “wild” . . . and, as always, I go off the rails a little bit.  Listen, unless you tell me what I HAVE to do, I just kinda take a bit of “creative license” when it comes to any challenge.  And I think that TECHNICALLY, I’m within the “limits” of the rules.  But if I’m not, what’re you gonna do?!!  LOL

KKL_NOV1518-Birthday-Project

So, polar bears are wild, right?!!  Pretty sure I don’t know anyone that has a polar bear for a pet.  So I think I’m good.  LOL  I used a couple of different sets to create this: The polar bear is from the Polar Bear Pals Stamp Set; the big letters are from the Happy Birthday Block Die-Namics, and the sentiment was created by cutting up two different sentiments – “Happy” from the Ready, Set, Snow Stamp Set, and “theday” from the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other “wild” projects that my teammates have created for your inspiration.  And while you’re there, why not link up a “wild” project of your own for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique. We’d love to see what you’d create!

That’s it for me today, friends!!  I’ve got a slew of errands to run today, so I’ll be out and about most of the day! Thanks so much for spending a bit of your day here with me – I so love it when you do!  Have a great day!

My Favorite Things–October Hits & Highlights: Merry & Bright!

Hello friends!!

Print

I’m playing along with this month’s Hits & Highlights Challenge!  The MFT Design Team was challenged to feature products that include “merry” in the name or add brightness to our projects with our favorite lights.  I went with a Merry & Bright sentiment:

KKL_OCT3018-Hits-&-Highlights

One of my all time favorite holiday sentiment stamp sets is the Hand Lettered Holiday Stamp Set.  The font in this set just makes me happy.  And the sentiments are perfect for any holiday project!  I’m also loving the new glitter paper that the MFT Online Boutique is now carrying, and the Holly Jolly Collection is perfect for the holidays!  I cut some 1/4” strips and adhered them to an image panel.  Then die cut the outside edge with the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 29 Die-Namics.  The perfect finishing touch came in the form of that amazingly sparkly bow created using the Stitched Beautiful Bows Die-Namics.  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects that my teammates have created honoring this month’s Hits & Highlights Challenge! I know you’ll be amazed!

That’s it for me today, friends!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today – it’s always the highlight of my day when you do! I’ll be back again tomorrow with a project inspired by this week’s Sketch Challenge!  Have a great day!
