My Favorite Things - August Release Countdown Day 1: The Time Is Almost Here!

Hello friends!

I'm so excited - we're down to the final day before the August Release products go live! I hope you're as excited a I am! I have one more project to share with you before the release tomorrow, and it features a new stamp set from the Sassy Pants sentiment line, this one called Sassy Pants Spooktacular! Now, if you know me at all, I can be a little "sassy," in a good way, of course. And when you combine sassy with punny, well then you have a little piece of my heart! Now I know, some are not a fan of these stamp sets, but honestly, with what's going on in the world these days, I think everyone can use a little laugh, don't you?! So I was inspired by one of the sentiments to pull out the Wine Glass Shaker Window & Frame Die-Namics!

I added some spooky confetti (that I had in my stash) to the Wine Glass Shaker Pouch, used the new A2 Circle STAX Die-Namics to die cut and create a mask for the moon, and I did some spooky ink blending and white paint spatter to create to spooky sky. The bat is from the Ghostly Greetings Stamp Set, and was stamped in black pigment ink, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and die cut with the coordinating die. And the sentiment from the Sassy Pants Spooktacular was stamped onto some Black Licorice card stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, and die cut using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products below (although the links to the new products won't be live until the release.)

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other spooktacular designs that my sweet teammates have created for your delight! And while you're there, be sure and leave a comment for your chance to win a $75 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique. There will be one voucher for each day of the Release Countdown, but you can't win if you don't comment! All of the August Release products will be available for purchase on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM EDT!

That'll do it for me today, kids! I'll be back tomorrow with one more awesome project featuring more of this month's new release products! I hope you'll come back to check it out, and that you have an awesome day!

My Favorite Things - Fishbowl Die-Namics Two Ways & A Process Video!

Hello friends!

I'm popping in quickly today to let you know that I filmed a video showing you two ways to add the look of water to the fishbowl using the Fishbowl Die-Namics. For the first card I dusted off my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool to create a custom pocket for some Dollar Store bath gel! It worked like a dream and creates some really fun and realistic bubbles that move around!  For the second card, I blended some alcohol inks onto heavyweight Yupo paper to give some color variegation and movement. You can find the video, and a list of all of the MFT Products that I used over on the MFT YouTube Channel by clicking on the graphic below!

That'll do it for me today, kids! I'll be back next with the first of my June release projects! How is it June already?! Oh my gosh . . . all of the days are blurring together during these crazy days of quarantine! At least I have my crafts to keep me happy! I hope you all are staying safe and well, and that you have an awesome day today!

My Favorite Things - Inside Out Shaker Card & Process Video!

Hello my loves!

I'm popping in to share a project that is similar to a project that I created using a few of the components from last month's Icing on the Cupcake Card Kit, which sold out in a split second because it's sooo stinkin' fun and versatile! But I have good news - ALL of the components of the kit are available for purchase on an individual basis at the MFT Online Boutique.  My project features the Cupcakes and Sprinkles Die-Namics and the Sugar-Coated Sentiments Stamp Set. Similar to my project from last month, I created an Inside Out Shaker Card.  Here's what the front of the card looks like:

And here's what the inside looks like:

I brought the outside of the card inside!!  And I filmed a video showing you exactly how I did it! It's super easy and fun, so please be sure and check it out over at the MFTv YouTube Channel.  You can find it by clicking on the graphic below.

And you can find the project that I created for last month's card kit release HERE, just in case you need more inspiration. I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll be back in a couple of days to share another sketch challenge project! I hope you're staying well and that you have a great day!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #482!

Hello friends!

As promised, I'm back today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Sketch Challenge!  It's a super creative design, with oodles of options for the components!  I chose to use the recently re-released Undeniable Chemistry Stamp Set and the Chemistry Set Die-Namics, and made a shaker card with them!  Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my answer to the sketch:

I love looking at a sketch and squinting my eyes to see what else I see besides what's in the sketch prompt!  I saw the chemistry beakers, and the sentiment was a perfect fit!  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other spectacular projects that my brilliant teammates have created for you using this week's Sketch ChallengeAnd while you're there, why not link up a project of your own using this week's sketch for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so anyone that plays along has a chance to win!

That's it for me today, friends!  I'll be back in a few days with a new interactive card and process video!  Thanks so much for stopping by today - it truly means the world to me that you did! Hope to see you back here again, soon - and until then, have a great day!

My Favorite Things - Icing on the Cupcake Card Kit Inspiration!

Hello again!

I'm back again today to share one more project that I created using this month's Icing on the Cupcake Card Kit! I'm telling you, this kit inspires so many fun and creative designs! And I really like how this one turned out!

I used the Cupcake and Sprinkles Dies (included in the kit) to die cut the cupcake wrapper, the sprinkles, and the aperture in the center of the card base.  I used the A2 Rectangle Frame Die-Namics to die cut the green polka dot pattern from the Candy Land 6 x 6 Paper Pack, and I popped that off the card base with foam squares.  I did a bit of stamp surgery and used my scissors to cut apart the sentiment from the Sugar-Coated Sentiments Stamp Set (included in the kit), and I stamped the first portion of the sentiment onto some Lavender Fields card stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I die cut it using the Skinny Strips Die-Namics, and I used a white gel pen to add the ellipses at the end. I adhered the cupcake wrapper to the front using some foam squares, and added some enamel dots for movement!  Here's a picture of what the inside of the card looks like:

I used the inside of the green polka dot die cut from the A2 Rectangle Frame die cut as my image panel.  I used the icing die from the Cupcake and Sprinkles Dies to die cut the same aperture as I did on the front of the card.  I positioned the polka dot panel onto the inside card base, traced the inside of the icing with my pencil, and used that area to adhere the sprinkles that I die cut from Sour Apple, Blu Raspberry and Lavender Fields card stock and a glue pen.  I applied tape runner adhesive to the back of the polka dot panel and adhered the cupcake pouch (20 pouches are included in the kit) through the aperture. I added some white sprinkles to the inside of the pouch and sealed it with a 2" x 2" piece of acetate.  I placed the assembled cupcake pouch through the aperture of the front of the card, and closed the card to assure perfect positioning on the inside of the card.  I stamped the second portion of the sentiment onto Lavender Fields card stock with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, heat embossed it with white embossing powder, and die cut it using the Fishtail Flag Trio Die-Namics.  I haven't decorated the inside of a card in so long, and I love the peek-a-boo effect that this technique provides!  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below!

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other super cute projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration using the Icing on the Cupcake Card Kit! And don't forget to leave a comment along the way for your chance to win a $25 shopping spree to the MFT Online Boutique! You can grab your kit by clicking on the graphic below!

That'll do it for me today, kids!  I'll be back on Wednesday with a Sketch Challenge Card.  Until then, thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

My Favorite Things–Good Time to Wine Card Kit Day 2!

Hello again!!

Print

Are you loving the projects that we’ve shared using this month’s card kit?!!  I think this kit is one of the best!  I mean, what’s not to love if it involves, wine, sassy sentiments, and lots of fun dies?!  My project today features the new Sip Sip Hooray Die-Namic that is being released simultaneously with the kit (but is not included in the kit).  I was lucky enough to get this die before my other teammates because I had placed an order the day the dies arrived, so the team was able to throw it into my box!!  Lucky me!!  And I can honestly say that this die is going to be SOOOO fun to play with!  It fits PERFECTLY onto the Wine Tag Die-Namics, but it would also be super fun as the focal image of a card.  I only had time to work up one project, but I have a million ideas in my head for it – so stay tuned!

KKL_DEC1618-Card-Kit-Day-1

The Sip Sip Hooray Die is a perfect companion to the Good Time to Wine Card Kit!!  It’s not included in the kit, but will be released at the same time as the kit.  And did I mention that it fits PERFECTLY onto the Wine Tag Die-Namics?!!  I made it into a shaker wine tag, which adds a bit of unexpected pizzazz and fun!!  For wine tags or cards – either way, it’s super fun and easy to create with! Hostess gifts, birthday celebrations, weddings – it’s universal to all occasions!!  I will be using this often!!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below (of course, the links to the new products will not be live until the release on December 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM EST).

My Favorite Things–September Release Countdown Day 4!

Well hello again!

Print

We’re back for another fun day of September Release Countdown posts!!

KKL_AUG3118-CD-Day-4

Today’s post features the new Circle Trio Shaker Window & Frame Die-Namics!  And, yes, friends . . . I created a holiday card!  My first one of the season!  I actually pulled out one of my fave holiday sentiment sets from last year – Hand Lettered Holiday Stamp Set – and I made the three circles from the Circle Trio Shaker Window & Frame Die-Namics into ornaments!  I used some of the new red glitter card stock from the Sunset Glitter Card Stack Pack that will also be released this month!  And it is YUMMY!!  I didn’t get the coordinating Circle Trio Shaker Pouches in time, but I just used some acetate to make the shaker pouches.  I also pulled out another of my favorite oldie but goodie holiday products – the Let It Snowflake Too Die-Namics – for the snowflakes in the center of the circle frames.  Oh, and the stems on the ornaments?  They were “fashioned” by using the slider channel die from the Volcano Die-Namics.  It was the perfect scale and shape!!  I love looking through my stash to find a die that can be used for something other than what it was intended for!  Woot!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below (although the new September product links won’t be live until next Tuesday!)

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other spectacular Countdown Day 4 projects that my teammates have created for you!  And while you’re there, be sure and leave some love along the way for your chance to win a $75 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online BoutiqueAll of the September Release products will be available for purchase on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM EDT!!

My Favorite Things–July Hits & Highlights: Sun, Sand & Water!

Hola my friends!!

Print

I’m playing along with this month’s Hits & Highlights Challenge over at the MFT Design Blog!!  This month’s challenge is Sun, Sand & Water!  I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to try something that I’d been thinking about with the Aquarium Die-Namics.  We have a new Dollar Store in town, and I just happened to drop by during the grand opening.  While I was wandering the aisles, I found some aqua colored hair gel – and a light bulb went off.  First of all, it’s a dollar!!  Hello!!  And it’s the perfect color for the water in an aquarium, and the bubbles are so real life!!  Check it out!

KKL_JUL3118-Hits-&-Highlights

I mean, come on!!  Could that hair gel be more perfect for the bubbly liquid in an aquarium?!!  I placed a very small amount into a 3.5” x 3.5” ziplock baggie that I just happened to have in my stash (what can I say – I’m a sucker for baggies! LOL).  When I say a small amount, I mean just enough for a very thin layer of gel so that when the bag is zipped shut, the baggie lays flat.  I placed a panel of acetate behind the aperture of the aquarium.  And then I adhered two layers of foam tape on the back of the panel, around the left, right, and bottom outside edges of the aquarium aperture.  And then, once I finished embellishing the “aquarium” (rock bottom created by the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-Namics, Kraft card stock, and my Copic Markers; seaweed made using the Grassy Edges Die-namics and some green vellum that I had in my stash; and the fish are from the Gill Friends Stamp Set and coordinating dies), I adhered the front panel to the card base, and dropped the baggie of hair gel into the “pocket” (the space between the front image panel and the card base).  The two panels hold the gel in place and protect it from leaking or exploding.  Brilliant, right?!!  Here’s a closeup of the gel and the life-like bubbles:

KKL_JUL3118-Hits-&-Highlights-Close-Up

I’ve listed and linked the products that I used below – and who doesn’t need to make a stop at the Dollar Store for some hair gel?!!  It’s a dollar, people!!  LOL
