My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #542: I'm Never Not Thinking of You

Hello friends!

Did you think I fell off the face of the earth again?! Our kids and grandkids were visiting last week, so I decided to be "present" while they were here - which meant that my crafting had to go on the back burner for a bit. But I'm back and bringing you a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! And it's a double bonus project because I hadn't had a chance to play with this month's Floral Focus Card Kit! So I pulled it out and went to town! Here's this week's sketch:

And here's what I created!

I pulled out the In-Focus Florals Die-Namics, dies that could be purchased separately from this month's kit, but coordinate with the kit contents beautifully! I am dying over the intricate details of these die cuts! And I am swooning over how cool they look when stacked black on top of white! I blended some Poppin' Pink, Lemon Drop and Summer Splash Dye Inks to create my rainbow (have I mentioned how AMAZING these new dye inks blend - like BUTTAH!), and then ink blended the same inks over the Punch Pattern Stencil to create the background. The sentiment is from the Friends Like You Stamp Set (also part of this month's kit) and was stamped onto Black Licorice Card Stock using white pigment ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment strip using the Slimline Skinny Strips Die-Namics (which can also be purchased separately from the kit!) I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below!

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other beautiful projects that my fellow teammates have created using this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! And while you're there, why not link up your own design inspired by this week's Sketch for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, but you have to play along to be eligible!

That'll do it for me today, kids! I'll be back on Friday with another challenge project! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #530: You're Not Alone!

Hello my friends!

It's time for another Wednesday Sketch Challenge! And it's the perfect opportunity to pull out your slimline dies and stencils! I used images and a sentiment from the Sky-High Friends Stamp Set, and I used the new Slimline Cloud Edges and Slimline Drifts & Hills Stencils! I also ink blended with the new Limelight Dye Ink formula - and that stuff blends like a DREAM! Here's this week's sketch:

And of course I took my usual "creative license" to interpret this week's sketch! I flipped the sketch around so that it's vertical instead of horizontal, and I used my main focal image as the largest circle. In fact, I didn't use any circles at all! Oops! Here's my take on the sketch:

Since I found some extended die cutting plates for my die cutting machine, making slimline cards is so much easier! I die cut the main image panel from some Smooth White Card Stock using the stitched rectangle die from the Slimline Starter Set Die-Namics. I blended Summer Splash Dye Ink onto the panel using the Slimline Cloud Edges Stencil, and blended some Limelight Dye Ink using the Slimline Drifts & Hills Stencil to create some rolling hills. The sentiment was stamped onto one of the pattern papers from the Birthday Brights 6 x 6 Paper Pad! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other wonderful projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration using today's new sketch! And while you're there, why not link up your own take on this week's sketch for a chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, but you can't win if you don't play!

That'll do it for me today, friends! I'll be back soon with more crafty stuff. Until then, please stay well and have a spectacular day!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #526: Lots of Balloons!

Hello my friends!

I'm popping in quickly to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! This week's sketch has a lot of floating elements, so I immediately thought of balloons! The recently re-released Balloon STAX Die-Namics were perfect for what I had in mind! I also loved the idea of the balloons being somewhat transparent, so I die cut them out of some colored vellum that I had in my stash! I used the new Boxed-In Banners Die-Namics (from this month's Friendship Card Kit) to frame out the sentiment, and the sentiment is from the Sweet Birthday Wishes Stamp Set!

I am in love with that new Boxed-In Banner Die for a sentiment banner! I love that you can set it off with another color! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other great projects that my fellow teammates have created using this week's Sketch! And while you're there, why not link up a design of your own inspired by this week's Sketch for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, but you can't win if you don't play!

That's it for me today, friends! I'll be back with more crafty stuff soon! So until then, please have an awesome day and stay well!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #510!

 Hello friends!

I'm popping in today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of a road for that long skinny panel! So here's the sketch:

And here's my "interpretation" of the sketch:

So, can you see how the sketch inspired me?! I thought the sign from the Adorable Adventure Stamp Set was perfect for those strips. I added the word "Jolly" to the sign from the Bitty Holiday Wishes Stamp Set, and I added the words "This Way" from the Adorable Adventures Stamp Set. I stamped "Ho Ho Ho" on the license plate of the car using another sentiment from the Bitty Holiday Wishes Stamp Set. The Santa image is from the Loads of Joy Stamp Set. The road was created using the On the Road Die-Namics, and the car was created using the Carpool Die-Namics! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below!

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other tremendous projects that my fellow teammates have created using this week's sketch! And while you're there, why not link up your own take on this week's sketch for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #498!

Hello everyone!

I'm popping in today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! I was completely enthralled with this week's sketch because the elements offered so many opportunities to "interpret!" Which I think you all know I love to do! Here's this week's sketch:

And here's how I "interpreted" this week's sketch:

I saw this sketch as an opportunity to pull out one of the stamps from last month's mid-month red rubber release! I stamped one of the Magnolia Blossoms onto some watercolor paper using some Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I "faux" water colored the image with my new Karin Pro Markers (my new fave coloring medium) and a water brush, and then fussy cut the image out with my detail scissors. I used the Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics to die cut an aperture from some masking paper. Then I adhered the mask to the card base and ink blended some Summer Splash and Tickled Pink Dye Inks into the aperture. Before I removed the mask, I inserted the same Inside & Out Stitched Circle die into the masked aperture, using the edges of the mask to wiggle the die into position, and then I ran it through my die cut machine using an embossing mat. That embossed the stitching into the card base, which I think adds great detail and interest! Then I removed the mask and adhered the water colored focal image to the ink blended circle using foam squares. I stamped a sentiment from the Happy Hummingbirds Stamp Set onto some Sno Cone card stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment strip with my trimmer, and adhered it to the card base with foam squares. I added my fave Sparkling Clear Sequins as a last detail! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

That'll do it for me today, friends! I'll be back again tomorrow with another stampy project! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #497!

Hello everyone!

I'm back again today with a super cute project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! The sketch for me was a bit of a challenge (I guess that's the point, right?! LOL), but once I had a vision, I was excited to execute it! And I'm super pleased with how it turned out! Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch:

I hadn't had a chance to ink up the new Perfect Pool Stencil from this month's release, so I just had to use it to enhance the previously released Pool Die-Namics. I created a mask using the Pool Die-Namics and went to town inking up the stencil per Laura's brilliant instructions HERE. I could not believe how realistic the pool looks once you rotate and ink it up a few times! It was a hoot, and I can't wait to ink it up again! I paired the pool with the cutie girl from the Drink Up the Sunshine Stamp Set, and I inserted her into a Polaroid Shaker Frame die cut, after stamping the sentiment from the Sunny Vibes Stamp Set! I added a few clear droplets for embellishments and adhered the image panel to a Pineapple card base! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #495!

Hello friends!

I'm popping in today to share a sweet card that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! It's a great sketch, and open to lots of interpretation! I pulled out the Best Fins Stamp Set, and went to town creating a mini underwater scene inside the Photo Booth Strip.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my interpretation of the sketch:

Cute, right?! I used the Stitched Ric Rac Die to create those waves! And I stamped the sentiment (after a bit of stamp surgery) using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I've listed all of the MFT products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch #491!

Hola, friends!

I'm super excited to be popping in today to share a project that I created that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Now you all know I love a good sketch, and I also love to do the unexpected! I flipped the sketch, and immediately thought of the Main Squeeze Stamp Set for the floating elements.  Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my interpretation of the sketch:

I used the All-Lined Up Background Stamp to create the sweet plaid on the Summer Splash panel using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and then I used the largest of the A2 Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics to die cut that curved stitched edge.  I stamped, die cut and colored the images from the Main Squeeze Stamp Set. I also stamped the sentiment from the Main Squeeze Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and die cut it using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #484!

Hello friends!

I know it's been quiet around here . . . things are so surreal and crazy in light of all that's going on in the world.  But I wanted to bring a little normal to my crafty life and hopefully to yours, too, so I'm playing along with this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  It's a great sketch and open to a ton of opportunities to use your dusty crafty stash.  I pulled a couple of oldies but goodies out of my stash to play along today.  Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my take on this week's sketch:

I pulled out the Paw Prints Die-Namics and used the largest of the paw print dies to create the main focal image.  I trimmed the image panel so that the paw print is partially cut off.  The sentiment, from the Critter Condolences Stamp Set, was stamped onto Black Licorice card stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, and die cut using the Fishtail Flag Trio Die-Namics.  It's a super clean and simple take on today's sketch . . . and I'm so happy to have a pet condolence card in my stash ready when I need it.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT Products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other super fun projects that my fellow teammates have created for your inspiration!  And while you're there, why not link up your own take on this week's sketch for your chance to win $50 MFT Bucks to the MFT Online Boutique! My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #483!

Hello again!

I'm popping in today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  It's a lovely sketch, and lends itself perfectly to my favorite kind of design - clean and simple, with a little bit of graphic thrown in for good measure!  Here's this week's sketch:

And here's my interpretation of the sketch:

I used the Gift Tag Die-Namics to create the dome-shaped aperture from a 4" x 5.25" Smooth White panel.  I adhered some rainbow-order strips (colors listed below) that I created using the Straight-Up Rainbow Die-Namics onto the card base so that they aligned towards the left side of the aperture.  I die cut the Scripty Smile Die-Namics, three times from Smooth White and once from Black Licorice card stock, and I adhered the layers together with a glue pen.  I die cut some of the flowers, stems and leaves from Smooth White using the Stitched Garden Die-Namics.  I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below.
