My Favorite Things–Wednesday Sketch #361!!

Well hello!!

MFT_SketchChallenge_2017Logo

I hope all of my American friends enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving holiday!  Our kids were here until Thursday, and we spent the rest of the weekend enjoying Santa Barbara with friends!  It was super fun!!  I’m popping in today to share a card inspired by this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my interpretation of the sketch!

Isn’t it so fun?!!  I know you all know how much I love Buffalo Plaid.  Buffalo Plaid ALL the things!!  When Torico used the Triple Stripe Background to create this plaid on THIS card, I knew I had to figure out a way to incorporate it into my own project!!  I stamped the background onto a Poppy Card Stock card base, first vertically and then horizontally, and then used a ruler and a white gel pen to place white lines between each set of triple lines.  I trimmed an A2 panel of Smooth White Card Stock and die cut the bottom edge using the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-Namics.  I die cut the Joy Die-Namic from the center of the white panel, and removed the die cut.  I adhered the white panel to the card base using foam squares, and filled the inside of the word die cut letters.  I stamped the sentiment (with a bit of stamp surgery on two different sentiments – one from the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set, and one from the More Essential Sentiments) onto some Black Licorice Card Stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and then heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  I used the fishtail flag die from the Blueprints 27 Die-Namics to die cut the sentiment, and adhered it to the white panel using foam squares.  Lastly, I embellished the white panel with some black and red enamel dots from my stash.  One last holiday card for my stash!!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.

Please click on through to the MFT Challenge Blog to be linked to the other fabulous designs that my teammates have created for you using this week’s Wednesday Sketch!  We’d also love for you to play along with us for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher from My Favorite Things! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’m busting my booty to get caught up on some deadlines before a friend comes to visit this weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  It means so much to me when you do!

Ellen Hutson LLC 11th Anniversary Celebration Hop - Day 1!

Hello friends!!

If this is your first time here, welcome!!  I’m honored and humbled to be joining some of my stamping and crafting idols today, and for the next several days, in celebration of the 11th year of Ellen Hutson, LLC!  I’m lucky enough to call Ellen my friend, and I adore her to the moon and back!  This woman gives so much to our creative community, and is so thoughtful, kind and generous to many!  She strives to bring us crafters the best products that help make us who we are as crafters, and she even has been intimately involved in developing some of the most innovative products that rock our crafty world!  It’s with absolute pleasure that I’m sharing “My Favorite Essentials By Ellen Set.” But I should mention, that asking me to do that is like asking me to pick a favorite child.  Luckily, Ellen’s products can’t go on Jerry Springer and talk about what a bad mom I am!  LOL  So choose, I must!!

I have absolutely fallen head-over-heels in LOVE with the Bear Hugs Die Set!  I feel like that adorable bear stuffie die set is super versatile and has a face only a mother could love!  LOL I just love die cutting him out of felt and coordinating his “theme” around the fun things that he can hold!  So, today, I paired him with several other Essentials By Ellen products for a super fun coffee-themed holiday gift card project!  I added a pocket on his “bum” for a Starbucks gift card, and created a coordinating card using the bear from the All Inside Set and the scarf from the Bear Ware 2 Set.  The sentiment is from the Merry & Bright Set!  Here’s a closer look at the bear stuffie and the card!

The coffee cups were made using the Oh Frappe Set!  And wanna know a secret?  The little cup that the small bear is holding is the same image as the cup that the big bear is holding!  But I stamped it onto some White Polyshrink (a/k/a Shrinky Dink) with Jet Black Staz-On, and then heated it up with my Embossing Gun to shrink it up!  I colored the bottom of the cup with a red Copic Marker and just about shrieked with glee when I saw how cute it turned out!!  Here's a picture of his "backside" with the cutest cup shaped Starbucks Gift Card!!

Aaaacckkk!  I want to make a million of them!  LOL  Anywho, I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below!

The next stop on the hop is the brilliantly talented Brandi Kincaid!!  No doubt she has something amazing to share with you!  And if you get lost along the way, I've listed all of today's hoppers below.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  The time you spend here with me is truly the highlight of my day!  Before I go, though, I want to congratulate Ellen on 11 outstanding and successful years in business, and wish her many more to come!  Enjoy the rest of the hop, and have a great day!
