No Place Like Home . . . .

Sheesh! It sure has been a busy week! I can't believe it's Friday already. I've got a baby shower to attend tomorrow, and my youngest DD is home for two weeks before she has to go back to school for "rush."

Today's card is one I made for several of the Dare to Get Dirty 09 Challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers. You have to be a Fan Club Member in order to play along - so go sign up and play already!! I think the deadline for the challenges is Saturday . . . but I'm not positive about that. Anyways, I received this beautiful craft stamp, called "No Place Like Home," from www.JanLynn.com a few weeks ago - isn't it beautiful?!! This is how I wish my front door looked. I have flower pots near my front door - but they're empty. Black thumb, don'tcha know! LOL Every spring I tell myself I'm going to go to the nursery and get some plants to put in those planters, and every spring it doesn't happen. Ugh!!

I stamped this image three times - once on clear cardstock using StazOn, and then twice on white cardstock. I colored one of the cardstock stamped images using my Copics and a white gel pen (I added the dots to the pots and some baby's breath to the flowers). I then very carefully cut out the main portion of the door and adhered it to the back side of the clear cardstock panel. Then I cut out the flower pots from the second cardstock stamped image, colored them with my Copics and gel pen, and popped them up with dimensionals and attached them to the front of the clear cardstock. I sewed the damask and polka dot DP to the pink panel, and then adhered that to the yellow cardstock back panel. The rest is pretty self-explanatory, don't you think? If not, let me know. I included the closeup so that you could see the beautiful sentiment that winds around the outside of the main image. I just love these Stamps Happen stamps, and this one is no exception.

Karolyn this is amazing... I absolutely love the image and the fun little sentiment that goes around the door. Thanks for pointing that out. Love the polka dots on the flower pots. I too have a black thumb but I think it is because just like pet fish, I LOVE THEM TO DEATH. I think for sure I look like that little girl from Finding Nemo, at least that is what plants and fish think when they see me approaching..

That's how I wished my front door looked too, except I'd have to get you to come paint it and use fake flowers because I am not good with plants. Very pretty!
