Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday #19 - Christmas July Finale!!

Has the holiday vibe infiltrated your crafting yet? The Shirley's 2 Girls Design Team has had so much fun creating some holiday goodness for your early Christmas inspiration!! As our grand finale, we have another fun challenge for you!

This week's challenge is to create a shaped Christmas card using a shape other than a standard square or rectangle.

This was a fun one for me. My sample uses this darling Santa image called Santa Claus Is Comin' (SG H18). I wanted to give the impression that Santa was flying through the sky to bring you some holiday goodies. So, I used some navy blue shimmery CS, and cut it into the shape of a circle using my Martha Stewart Circle Cutter and a glass mat. Love that thing!! I stamped Santa using Versamark and then heat embossed using white embossing powder - then stamped him again with black ink, colored him with my Copic markers, cut him out and popped him up so he looks like he's flying right off the page. I also stamped polka dots over the entire card, and embossed using an irridescent embossing powder - kinda looks like snow, huh? Finally, I added a string of self-adhesive pearls around the outside and added a fun red polka dot organdy ribbon. Ho! Ho! Ho!!

Here's the scoop for this week:

  1. The challenge AND the "twist" this week is to CREATE A SHAPED CHRISTMAS CARD (a shape other than a standard square or rectangle);
  2. Link your card to Mr. Linky on the Shirley's 2 Girls Challenge blog by Sunday, July 18, at 12:00 AM PST.
  3. If you upload your card to Splitcoast Stampers or Papercraft Planet, use S2GSC19 and shirleys2girls as your key words.
  4. Leave some "love" for the sisters on the Shirley's 2 Girls Challenge blog.
One winner will be chosen via Random.org to receive "an early christmas present" with a variety of S2G CHRISTMAS STAMPS/PAPERS/EMBELLISHMENTS!"

Here's more inspiration from the rest of the Shirley's 2 Girls Design Team:

--glad I went back and read that the edge was a string of pearls. I thought at first you had laid each one down and I wondered what you were thinking! Great card, Karo.
