CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #38–On the Red Carpet

Hello!!
CFC38 Graphic
It’s time for another fabulous CAS-ual Fridays Challenge – and this one is going to be a good one (not that they all aren’t good ones, but you know what I mean . . . right?!  LOL)  This week, we’re celebrating the Academy Awards.  Fun, right?!  Your Challenge:  Create a CLEAN AND SIMPLE project and be inspired by a movie – any movie, really.  It doesn’t have to be an Academy Award winning movie – just any movie that you’re inspired by.

Simon Says Stamp
This week’s challenge is being sponsored by Simon Says Stamps AND the TGIF winner of this week’s challenge will become our Temp (a/k/a Guest Designer) for one of the upcoming challenges.  BONUS!!  Simon Says Stamps is an online store and the purveyor of some of the most delicious stamp goodness known to woman kind.  Simon Says Stamps has also provided a very generous prize for the TGIF Winner, but you’ll have to hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to find out what it is.  Thank you Simon Says Stamps!
CFC38 - You Had Me at Hello
This challenge really inspired me – I immediately thought of several of my favorite movies.  But the one that stuck in my head the most was “Jerry McGuire” for so many reasons – my boyfriend, Tom Cruise, was certainly a driving force.  But the line that kept sticking in my brain was “You had me at hello.”  *sigh*  So cute, right?!  I had this fun Gina K image in my stash since the holidays and I knew it would be the perfect image for my card.  I stamped it in VersaMark, heat embossed it with some black EP, and then fussy cut it out.  I loves me some vintage looking telephones, don’t you?
STAMPS:  Just Calling to Say (Gina K Stamps), Think Big Favorites #3 and Mat Stack 1 Collection (PTI)
INK:  VersaMark and Onyx Black VersaFine (Tsukineko), Pool (Fresh Ink)
PAPER:  Black Licorice (Poptone), Simply Chartreuse (PTI), White (Neenah)
ACCESSORIES:  Black Embossing Powder (Zing/American Crafts), Hawaiian Shores Satin Ribbon, Mat Stack 1 and 4 Dies (PTI), Houndstooth Embossing Folder (Lifestyle Crafts)
cha booth
Well, that’s it for the challenge, kids.  I’ve just returned from CHA – or what I’ve deemed to be the Crafter’s Disneyland.  Seriously, people, I’m pretty sure I’ve been floating on a cloud since Saturday morning.  I can’t even put into words the amazing experience that I was just blessed with.  I worked in the Paper Smooches booth with my sweet friend, Kim Hughes (Red heartRed heartRed heart), as well as Kim Kesti (hellllloooo – Paper Crafts Magazine rock star!!) and THE Carole Burrage (the funniest and most talented chick on the face of the earth – I was in TEARS, people!!)  I also got to finally reveal a secret that I’ve been keeping for quite a while.  Some of you may already know, but all of the details will be revealed HERE in a very short time.  I hope you’ll stick around to find out what it is – suffice it to say that another one of my dreams has come true.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you all have a great weekend!!
