Oh My!
Are you blushing like I am?! LOL Well before you report me for being naughty, I’ll let you know that this week’s CAS-ual Fridays Challenge does not involve anyone taking their clothes off, especially me!! But it DOES involve creating a CLEAN & SIMPLE design and use strips in your design – strips of paper, strips of ribbon, strips of washi tape – whatever strikes your fancy! Fun, right?!
This week’s uber fabulous sponsor is Freckled Fawn – the online purveyor of an enormous selection of washi tape, doilies, lace, ribbons, labels, etc. Like tons of amazingly fun stuff!! Freckled Fawn has also provided a fabulous prize for this week’s TGIF Winner, but you’ll have to click on through to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to see what it is! Thank you, Freckled Fawn!
I designed my card for this challenge a few weeks back, and sort of miscalculated the timing. I thought it was going to be a little closer to the Fourth of July than it actually was. Sorry about that! But this could be recreated in a different color scheme and be a super fun congratulations or celebrate card, don’t you think? And who doesn’t need a true blue friend any day of the week? That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it! LOL I die cut the stars several times, and layered them on top of each other to create a chipboard of sorts. I then adhered the strips of washi tape on the card base and stamped the sentiment. Then I adhered the stars to the card front with foam tape, and layered the washi tape on the stars, making sure to match the patterns already on the card base. Isn’t it a fun effect? This would be so fun to do with other die cut shapes – like hearts, or circles or hexagons – ohhhhh!! I’m so gonna try this with hexagons!!
