OCC Homework Day 2–Celebrate the Season (Inlaid Die Cuts)

Happy Thursday, friends!!

Popping in again today to share another card I created for the Holiday Card Workshop that I’m taking.  There were some great videos and ideas for die cutting on your holiday cards, but I decided to attempt Jennifer McGuire’s inlaid die cutting idea.  OH EM GEE!!  I don’t want to discourage anyone from trying this technique, but this took SO LONG for me to put together!!  LOL  But I eventually figured it all out and am so happy with the end result.  I will NOT, however, be creating any more of these for my holiday cards.  I don’t have time!!  LOL

Here’s a close up of the glittery star.  That was the easiest part of this card.  LOL  If I can offer up any advice on this technique it would be to keep it simple.  I love the idea – flat cards are so much cheaper to send!  But putting all of those little pieces back in drove me NUTS!!

That’s it for me today, kids.  I’ll have some yummy Paper Smooches goodies to share with you tomorrow, so please stop by if you can!

Another beauty! Really elegant. You've convinced me to try this MFT paper!

Your card turned out great. I did the same technique and I agree, it seemed to take a long time.

Karolyn, thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! This may have been time consuming but WOW...it was worth the effort! Love the dies you've used and the colors!

It may not have been easy but it turned out great. I'm taking the class too and my problem if finding things to use that might not be the same as what they are showing. You picked some good dies. So very pretty.

Nice card, Karolyn! Love the look even though it does take more time than a "usual" card. :)

Your card is absolutely stunning -- definitely worth the time & effort in my opinion, at least. I'd put this one up on the mantle if I were you & keep it forever. Gorgeous!
