Happy Birthday, Mom!
Hello Friends!
WARNING! MOM – if you haven’t seen your birthday card yet, and you don’t want to spoil the surprise, STOP LOOKING NOW!
Okay, phew! Hopefully I’ve diverted a disaster for my mom’s birthday. She actually had her birthday on April 1st, but she’s coming down to AZ to visit my sister, and we’re all having lunch together while she’s in town. So we haven’t given her her card yet. But I wanted to share it here with you all. I forgot to photograph it in my light box, so I took a photo on my sister’s patio. For some reason, the greens and fuchsia’s are more subtle in the photo than they were in real life. Phooey. LOL I used a curve die to get that slope at the top, and tied a black satin ribbon at the bottom. I’m hoping that my mom will love this as much as I do!
I stamped the orchid stem in VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then broke out my Peerless water color sheets and went to town. I’m really loving the effect that water colors give images, and I find it to be so much easier than Copics to get the tones and gradation right. I die cut the Birthday word several times and glued them together for some fun dimension. The “happy” was stamped with black ink.
That’s it for me today, friends! I’ve got a huge weekend of social stuff going on, and a day at the spa on Sunday that I’m really looking forward to!! I hope that you’ve got some lovely plans for your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by today – you always make my day!

Let us know if she peaked at her card or if she had enough willpower to "step away from the computer" without looking!
