It’s been a minute since my last post – it feels like weeks! LOL We had an amazing holiday with our kids, and lovely visit with the rest of our family while we were in Seattle. We shared tons of laughs, good food, and many hugs and kisses from those sweet grandbabies of ours. It truly was an awesome time, and we feel so incredibly blessed. Oh, and the little ones shared their germs with Gramma and Grampa, so both of us are recovering from head and chest colds! Our final Christmas gift! LOL Anyways, I wanted to pop in and share one last holiday project featuring some My Favorite Things products with you, in case you have some last minute (or belated) gifts to give.
Okay, so I am OBSESSED with buffalo plaid this year. I wrapped
all of our holiday gifts in it this year, and we all dressed in buffalo plaid
jammies on Christmas morning. Check it!
That’s my crazy family! LOL Gotta love ‘em, right?! Let’s just say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Hee hee hee. But I digress! You can see that I’m not lying when I say that I am obsessed with buffalo plaid! So, when the Gingham Background Stamp showed up in my mailbox, I knew I had to create something fun! Here’s how I created it:
- Trim an A2, vertical top-folding card base from Kraft Card Stock. Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon bone folder.
- Die cut a panel from Red Hot Card Stock using the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics. Stamp the Linen Background Stamp onto the panel using VersaMark. Adhere the panel to the card base with foam tape.
- Die cut a stitched tag from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Stitched Traditional Tags STAX Die-Namics. Die cut a hole at the top of the tag and a hold enforcer from Red Hot Card Stock, using the Tag Builder Blueprints 2 Die-Namics. Adhere the red hole enforcer to the tag with liquid adhesive. Thread black and white baker’s twine through the hole and tie a bow.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Hug In A Mug Stamp Set onto the bottom of the tag using Black Licorice Pigment Ink, and heat emboss it with Clear Detail Embossing Powder. Adhere the tag to the image panel with foam tape.
- Stamp the Gingham Background Stamp onto some Red Hot Card Stock using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. Die cut the coffee cup base using the Coffee Cup Die-Namics. Die cut the cup top from Sweet Tooth Card Stock, and the cup insulator from Kraft Card Stock, again using the Coffee Cup Die-Namics.
- Stamp the snowflake from the Snowflake Flurry Stamp Set onto the cup insulator using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and heat emboss with White Detail Embossing Powder. Assemble and adhere the coffee cup to the tag using foam tape.
- Die cut another stitched panel from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics. Die cut slits into the panel using the Gift Card Grooves Die-Namics. Stamp the sentiment from the Hug In A Mug Stamp Set onto the panel using Black Licorice Pigment Ink and heat emboss it with Clear Detail Embossing Powder. Adhere the image panel to the inside of the card base with foam tape.
Here’s a quick peek at the inside of the card:
There ya have it! You can see that I slid a Starbucks gift card into the inside grooves, and I thought it’d be a perfect gift for our mail lady – she loves Starbucks! And honestly, this doesn’t have to be a holiday gift! I can tell you that I will be wearing my buffalo plaid infinity scarf for many weeks to come – it’s still winter, right?! LOL So this could potentially be a “just because it’s flippin’ cold out” card!! Just sayin’ . . . . I’ve listed all of the products that I used below.
That’ll do it for me today, friends!! I’ve got my nose to the grind stone these days – there’s a new release on the horizon and lots of preparation still to do for the upcoming CHA show in Anaheim! That’s next week! Aaaackkkkk!! So, I’m headed to my craft room to get some stuff done – and I’ll be there until further notice! Thanks so much for stopping by!! I sure do appreciate it!
