Hello my loves!!
I’m back AGAIN today to share a project that I created that was inspired by this week’s My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge – WSC281! Here’s the sketch:
Pretty straight forward! Of course, I’m the deviant of the group and flipped it. Here’s my take on the challenge:
Fun, right?!! I love to look at a sketch and flip it from side to side, until I finally have a vision. When I flipped it upside down, I saw a beehive! Here’s how I created my project:
- Trim an A2, vertical top-folding card base from Pineapple Card Stock. Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
- Stamp the Mini Hexagon Background Stamp onto the card base using Pineapple Hybrid Ink. Stamp the stitched trail from the Fly-By Friends Stamp Set onto the card base using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
- Trim an A2 panel from Sweet Tooth Card Stock. Emboss the Mini Chicken Wire Cover Up into the panel using an embossing pad. Die cut the panel using the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics Set.
- Die cut a hexagon from the center of the panel using the Stitched Hexagon STAX Die-Namics. Adhere the panel to the card base with foam tape.
- Stamp the large bee and two smaller bees from the Fly-By Friends Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. Color them with Copic Markers, and die cut them using the coordinating Fly-By Friends Die-Namics. Adhere them to the card base with foam tape, aligning the large bee with the previously stamped stitched trail.
- Die cut a sentiment banner from Pineapple Card Stock using the Dimensional Banners Die-Namics. Stamp the sentiment from the Fly-By Friends Stamp Set using Black Licorice Pigment Ink. Heat emboss the sentiment with Clear Detail Embossing Powder. Fold the banner on the provided score lines.
- Tie some black and white baker’s twine through the top of the hexagon, and tie it into a bow. Adhere the image panel to the card base with foam tape. Adhere the sentiment banner to the image panel with foam tape.
- Apply a light coat of liquid adhesive to the wings of the bees, and sprinkle some Warm Diamond Glitter onto them.
There you have it! A super fun take on an even more fun and versatile sketch! I hope you’ll click on through to the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog to see some additional inspiration using this sketch! There, too, you’ll find the link up tool where you can link up your take on the sketch! I hope you’ll give it a try!
That’s it for me today, friends! Still plugging away in my craft room. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines! Thanks so much for stopping by – you have no idea how much your kind words get me through the day! Have a good one!

I love this!!!!!! It is fantastic!!
Love how you think girl! Such a clever, clever idea - especially how you mimicked the embossing folder with the diecut opening!
Just AMAZING!!!!
