Avery Elle–The Reef

Hello friends!!!

I’m back today to share a project that I created with another of the new Avery Elle stamp sets.  Today’s project features The Reef Stamp Set and coordinating and complimentary Elle-Ments.

I love that sweet seahorse.  I took my grandsons to see “Finding Dory” last weekend.  It was pretty darned cute – I think I liked “Finding Nemo” better, but it was still a very sweet story.  It was kind of fun “animating” my own little undersea world!

  1. Trim an A2, vertical top-folding card base from Solar White Card Stock.  Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Die cut a mat panel from Solar White Card Stock using the Double Pierced Rectangle Elle-Ments.  Adhere it to the card base with foam squares.
  3. Die cut a scalloped oval from vellum using the Sweet Scallops Elle-Ments.  Adhere it to the pierced mat with foam squares.
  4. Die cut a pierced oval  from Solar White Card Stock using the Sweet Scallops Elle-Ments.  Blend some Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress inks at the base of the oval, using a Mini Ink Blending Tool.
  5. Trim a mask from some Stamping Mask Paper using the Coral Reef Elle-Ments and adhere it to the oval image panel.  Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, blend some Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks to create the kelp.
  6. Stamp the sentiment from The Reef Stamp Set using New Moon Dye Ink.  Adhere the oval to the vellum mat with foam squares.
  7. Stamp the seahorse and shells from The Reef Stamp Set onto some Solar White Card Stock using VersaMark, and heat emboss the images with White Embossing Powder.  Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, blend some Mustard Seed and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks to color the seahorse, and some Antique Linen to color the seashells.  Die cut the images using the coordinating The Reef Elle-Ments.
  8. Adhere the seahorse to the image panel with foam squares, and the seashells with tape adhesive.

I wanted this underwater scene to be serene and calming – the perfect card for anyone that might need some serenity in their life.  I’ve listed all of the products that I used below.  Please click on through to the Avery Elle Design Blog for more beautiful inspiration!

That’s it for me today, friends!!  Still working on deadlines – my craft room is becoming a little too familiar to me these days.  Let’s just say I’ve gotten my days and nights mixed up.  Too many late nights, where the hours pass and the next thing I know it’s 3 AM!!  But I love what I do – sometimes I just lose track of time!  That’s a good thing!  I hope that you have a great weekend!  I’ll be back soon with more crafty stuff!!  Thanks for stopping by!
