My Favorite Things–WSC#286

Hello, again!

MFT_SketchChallenge_SideBar

Are you sick of me yet?!  LOL  I’m popping in today to share a project that I created that was inspired by the My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge #286!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my take on the sketch!

So, I am completely in love with the Hog Heaven Stamp Set!  Those little pigs just make me happy!  I’m especially in love with the little pig butt image.  Is that messed up?!  LOL  Anyway, do you see how the sketch inspired my design?  Here’s how I created it:

  1. Trim an A2, horizontal top-folding card base from Sno Cone Card StockScore at 4.25”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Stamp the Scattered Surface Background onto the card base using Sno Cone Hybrid Ink.
  3. Trim an A2 panel from Limelight Card Stock and use the Grassy Fields Die-Namics to cut the grass. Repeat this step again on the other side of the Limelight panel, staggering the height of both cuts.
  4. Die cut the fence from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Farm Fence Die-Namics.  Assemble the fence with foam tape.  Use a black fine tip marker to fill in the “nail heads” of the fence.
  5. Stamp the back of the pig image from the Hog Heaven Stamp Set onto some Sweet Tooth Card Stock using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Color the pig with Copic Markers, and die cut the image using the coordinating Hog Heaven Die-Namics.
  6. Die cut a cloud from the card base using the In the Clouds Die-Namics.  Trim an A2 panel of Translucent Vellum, and adhere it to the inside of the card base.
  7. Stamp the sentiment from the Hog Heaven Stamp Set onto the vellum cloud using Black Licorice Pigment Ink.
  8. Assemble the rest of the card using foam tape.

So what do you think?  Do those pigs make you as happy as they do me?!!  Please click on through to the My Favorite Things Design Blog to be linked to the other projects created by my teammates in response to this week’s sketch!  And hopefully you’ll be inspired enough to play along with us!  I’ve listed all of the products that I used below.

That’s it for me today!  Still plugging away, trying to get my deadlines caught up!  I hope you have some awesome creative plans in your future, too!  Thanks so much for spending a bit of your day here with me!

Hey there pal! I've been MIA lately...by choice...playing in my yard! Don't want to waste the sunny days playing inside! Took a stroll through all your delightful creations that I've missed seeing! Brilliant creations, each one cuter than a bug's ear!

I'm picking a fav and it's the second card posted in your June 20th post!

Will stop by again on our next rainy day!
