My Favorite Things - WSC304

Well hello!

I’m back from Santa Fe, and am happy to report that a great time was had by all!  Lots of shopping, laughing, eating, and wine drinking ensued.  What a lovely town!  I hope I get to return again some time . . . there’s still lots of shopping to do!  LOL

I’m popping in today to share a project that I created that was inspired by this week’s My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge!

I think this is a super fun sketch, with tons of possibilities!!  Here’s what I came up with!

Fun, right?!!  Being the sketch deviant that I am, I flipped some things around in the sketch!  But I’ve included all of the elements . . . just shifted them around a bit!  LOL  Here’s how I created my project:

  1. Trim an A2, vertical, top-folding card base from Poppy Card StockScore at 5.5”, fold in half, and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Die cut the following:
    a.  An image panel from Smooth White Card Stock using the stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 23 Die-Namics.  Adhere it to  the card base with foam tape.
    b.  An oval from Poppy Card Stock using the Wonky Stitched Oval Die-Namics.
    c.  The collar, button and placket from Smooth White Card Stock using the Santa Suit Die-Namics.
    d.  The belt from Black Licorice Card Stock using the Santa Suit Die-Namics.
    e.  The belt buckle from Silver Foil Card Stock using the Santa Suit Die-Namics.
    f.  The sentiment flag from Black Licorice Card Stock using the flag die from the Blueprints 18 Die-Namics.
  3. Assemble Santa’s body using foam tape and tape adhesive.  Adhere the assembled Santa body to the image panel using foam tape.
  4. Stamp the sentiment from the Merry Everything Stamp Set using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink onto the sentiment banner die cut, and heat emboss it with White Detail Embossing Powder.  Adhere it to the card base with two layers of foam tape.

This week’s sketch is really versatile and has the potential to be just about anything you can imagine!  I had a blast with it!  Please click on through to the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog to see what the other design team ladies have created for your inspiration! And while you’re there, be sure and link up YOUR take on the this week’s sketch!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!  I’ve linked all of the products that I used below.

That’s it for me today, friends!  I’m catching up on my life, but will be back soon with another crafty project!  Until then, have a great day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
