Hello sweet friends!!

I’m popping in today to share a project that I created with the latest My Favorite Things Card Kit!  This month’s kit is called Kitschy Kitchen, and it is uber cute!! Oh my goodness, I had so much fun playing with the contents of this kit!  But, as is usually the case because I’m a bit of a rebel, I’m sharing an “outside the box” take on the kit – which means that I’ve used elements from the kit and paired them with other current My Favorite Things product not included in the kit.

When I saw that darling coffee pot, this is the vision that popped into my head.  Here’s how I created it!

  1. Trim an A2, vertical top-folding card base from Black Licorice Card StockScore at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Trim an A2 panel from Smooth White Card Stock.  Trim another A2 panel from Stamping Mask Paper.  Die cut an aperture from the mask using the Stitched Arch STAX Die-Namics.  Adhere the mask to the Smooth White panel.
  3. Apply a very light blend of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the open space on the card base with a Mini Ink Blending Tool.
  4. Replace the Stitched Arch STAX Die-Namics back into the masked aperture, and emboss the die into the card base using an embossing pad and your manual die cutting machine.  Carefully remove the mask from the image panel.
  5. Using the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 15 Die-Namics, die cut the outside edge of the image panel.
  6. Using a Mini MISTI Stamping Tool, stamp the coffee pot and cup image from the Kitschy Kitchen Stamp Set onto some Smooth White Card Stock using Red Hot Hybrid Ink.  Clean the stamps and restamp the images on top of the previously stamped images using VersaMark.  Heat emboss the images using Clear Detail Embossing Powder.  Use the coordinating Kitschy Kitchen Die-Namics to die cut the images.
  7. Stamp the sentiment from the Cup of Tea Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid InkStamp the sentiment a second time using VersaMark, and heat emboss it with Clear Detail Embossing Powder.
  8. Die cut the shelf from Black Licorice Card Stock using the Kitschy Kitchen Die-Namics.  Adhere the two pieces together with foam tape, and then adhere the assembled shelf to the image panel with more foam tape.
  9. Die cut a table cloth from the Tiny Check Paper Pack using the Stitched Mini Scallop Square Die-Namics.  Cut the scalloped square in half on the diagonial.  Adhere it to the image panel, just under the shelf, using some foam tape.
  10. Adhere the coffee pot and cup to the image panel, on top of the shelf, using foam tape.
  11. Adhere some 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins to the image panel using some Multi Medium Matte.
  12. Adhere the image panel to the card base using foam tape.
