My Favorite Things–X’s and O’s Card Kit –– Countdown Day 1!

Hello Again!

It’s Countdown Day 1 for the My Favorite Things X’s and O’s Card Kit.  But we have a special surprise!  Many of you have requested the re-release of the previously retired stamp set, Witch Way Is the Candy Stamp Set and coordinating dies!  Well, the amazing peeps at My Favorite Things heard you loud and clear, and decided to bring back the set in a slightly redesigned format! Surprise!!

 

The Witch Way is the Candy Stamp Set has always been one of my favorite Birdie Brown sets, and so I was pretty darned happy that we got a chance to play with it as part of the X’s and O’s Card Kit Release! And my favorite image of the set is the bat.  He just cracks me up!  Here’s how I created my card:

1. Trim a 4.25” x 11” card base from Cement Gray Card Stock.  Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
2. Trim a 4.25” x 5.5” panel from Gravel Gray Card Stock.  Die cut the outside edge of the panel with the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 24 Die-Namics.
3. Die cut a circle from the image panel using the Circle STAX Set 1 Die-Namics.  Adhere the image panel to the card base using foam squares.
4. Stamp the bat image from the Witch Way is the Candy Stamp Set onto some white Copic-friendly card stock using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Color the image with Copic Markers (N2, N3, N4, N5, and N6).  Die cut the image using the coordinating Witch Way is the Candy Die-Namics.  Adhere googlie eyes to the bat using Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive.
5. Stamp the sentiment from the Witch Way is the Candy Stamp Set onto some Black Licorice Card Stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  Heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.  Die cut the sentiment using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-Namics.
6. Ink up the Wood Plank Background Stamp using Hot Fudge Dye Ink.  “Kiss” the branch stamp from the Spooky Sweets Stamp Set with the inked up background stamp, and then stamp the branch stamp onto some Milk Chocolate Card Stock.  Die cut the branch using the Spooky Sweets Die-Namics. Adhere the branch to the image panel using foam squares.
7. Die cut the clouds from the Witch Way is the Candy Die-Namics from some Smooth White Card Stock. Adhere them to the image panel using foam squares.
8. Adhere the bat image to the “moon” using a double layer of foam squares.
9. Adhere the sentiment strip to the image panel using foam squares.
10. Die cut some hearts from Poppy Card Stock using the Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-Namics. Adhere the hearts to the image panel using foam squares.
11. Apply some Clear Wink of Stella to the hearts, and then coat them with Glossy Accents.  Allow to fully dry.

Is that upside down bat not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?  He seriously just cracks me up!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used today.
