Hello!
I’m thrilled to little bits to be joining some super talented ladies in sharing some awesomely fun new products from the Essentials By Ellen line. If you're new to my blog, welcome! You should have arrived here from Carolyn Peeler’s fabulous blog. If not, please start at the Ellen Hutson, LLC ClassROOM Blog – that’s where all the fun begins!! I’ve listed all of today’s hoppers at the bottom of this post.
So, I had the great pleasure of working with the new Bear Hugs Dies by Julie Ebersole! And basically it’s the adorable bear from the All Inside Stamp Set, but in a larger size! And its got holes punched in it so that you can stitch it up and make stuffies out of felt!
How freaking cute is that holiday bear stuffie?! The new Bear Hugs Die is perfect for die cutting felt and creating these adorable little critters. I decided to make him a gift card holder. So, I die cut the Bear Hugs body three times from white felt, and trimmed the third piece off with a scalloped border die. Before I stitched the bear together, I embellished the front of the bear by die cutting the package (included in the Bear Hugs Die set) from red felt, and stitched him to the front of the bear with some red and gold embroidery thread. I die cut his nose from some black felt and stitched it to the bear’s face, creating a mouth and eyes with black embroidery floss. I also added some pink french knots to the inside of his ears for a fun touch. I die cut the antlers twice from some tan felt and once from kraft cardstock, and adhered them together with liquid adhesive. I layered all of the pieces together and stitched them up with some white embroidery floss. Before I closed it up, I pushed some batting into the body and feet of the stuffie with a chopstick, and then finished stitching it up!! I’ll warn you right now – making these darling little critters is ADDICTING!!
Here’s a pic of what the stuffie looks like with a gift card stuffed into the back pocket of the holiday bear. Isn’t it so fun?! I added a gold embroidery floss loop at the top so that I could hang it on the tree on Christmas Eve. In an effort to make a matching set, I also created a matching card, using the All Inside Stamp Set and coordinating dies, the Bear Ware Stamp Set and coordinating dies, the Bear Ware 2 Stamp Set and coordinating dies, and the Season to Sparkle Stamp Set. I’ve listed and linked all of the products below.
I had so much fun creating this adorable holiday bear stuffie and matching card, that I decided to create a Tooth Beary!! My oldest grandson is 7, and he’s started losing his front teeth!! Oh my goodness, I so love that toothless grin of his! I thought it’d be fun to create a little tooth fairy bear, but instead of the gift in his arms, I placed a stamped and die cut tooth (created using the Tooth Be Told Stamp Set and coordinating dies) in his arms. I partially stitched the tooth to his belly with embroidery floss, leaving the top of the tooth open so that my grandson can slide his tooth into the “pocket.” He then places the Tooth Beary under his pillow, and the tooth fairy comes in the middle of the night, and leaves behind some cash in exchange for his tooth! Fun, right?!! Here’s a pic of what he looks like in the “back.”
I love him, and my grandson loved him, too! I can see personalizing these fun little bears and making them for all of my grandkids! Addicting, I tell you! Again, I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.
