My Favorite Things - June 2020 Mid-Month Release CD Day 1!

Hello friends!

I've been hanging out with our grandkids all weekend, but wanted to pop in today to share one of the projects that I created using products from the June 2020 Mid-Month Release!!  I hope you've been enjoying the other countdown days as I much as I have! There are some fabulous new products coming your way tomorrow! My project for today features the new Harmonious Hibiscus Background Stamp, a lovely and detailed red rubber floral background stamp that can be used in so many different ways.  I decided to keep it very clean and simple, but I tried a technique that I've never tried before.  I ink blended onto colored card stock for an ombre effect!

I was really happy with how this turned out and was shocked at how smoothly the ink blended onto the card stock, that I suspected would become splotchy and uneven! It didn't at all! I will say that it took me two tries, though - I first tried ink blending onto the card stock and then stamping and heat embossing the Harmonious Hibiscus Stamp. But the ink stayed wet enough that when I tried to apply the embossing powder, it covered the whole panel. My second try was much more successful - I stamped the Harmonious Hibiscus Stamp using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink onto a Tickled Pink panel and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I applied a light layer of Razzle Berry Dye Ink, and built the color up so that it blended from dark to light at the top. That worked like a dream!  I die cut the word from the Sweet Hello Die-Namics from Smooth White card stock four times, and adhered the layers together with a liquid glue pen. I die cut the shadow for the Sweet Hello Die-Namics from vellum and adhered the layered word die cut on top of the vellum and adhered the assembled die cut to the panel using more liquid glue. I'm excited to use this background, as well as many of the other new mid-month release products in the very near future! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below (although the new mid-month release product links won't be live until the release.)

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other terrific projects that my teammates have created for your inspiration! And while you're there, be sure and leave a comment for your chance to win a $75 shopping spree to the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, but you can't win if you don't comment! All off the new June 2020 Mid-Month Release Products will be available for purchase on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM EDT!

That'll do it for me today, friends! I'll be back tomorrow with my project for the Mid-Month Release! I sure hope you'll come back then to check it out for yourself! Thanks for dropping by today, and have a great day!

Even though its a clean and simple design, I really love how the single color really highlights the image. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful card. I will have to try your technique of using colored cardstock. SueB

It was interesting to read that you had to try twice to get what you wanted. Love the result and am glad I'm not the only one who occasionally struggles to get something right

Lovely card! And easy, yes -- after the first try? :) Thank you for sharing the failed attempt with us so we know the best way to do it! I really enjoy the resist technique - except I still use a heavy hand and end up wiping off a little of my embossing. Thank you for sharing!
