Here are a few more of my VSN challenge submissions.
The first one was a challenge to create a treat topper. I've noticed these in the gallery and have always wanted to make one. This was my chance! I used Cosmo Cricket's Honey Pie DP, my Long Rectangle Scalloped Nestabilities to create the topper (I folded the Sweet Blush CS in half and placed the die on the very edge of the fold so that it would fold over the gusseted treat bag), and my Heart Classic Nestabilities to create the two hearts. The letters were from the Polka Dot Alphabet from AMuse. The red gingham ribbon is American Crafts, and the buttons were in my stash. Fun little project, huh?
The second challenge was to make another treat holder. I saw a really cute little pocket card on Nichole Heady's blog the other day, and decided to alter it a bit to fit this challenge. The challenge was inspired by the Cupid Poop Poem that I've seen around. I wanted my treat holder to include the poem - the pocket from Nichole's card was perfect for that. Then I pretty much winged the rest of the treat holder, scoring a gussett on the bottom, and using a little velcro to make a closure. Yeah . . . the velcro really doesn't work too great - I think I'd figure something else out to keep it closed if I do this again. Cupid's arrow is from Impression Obsession's Sweet Hearts Set, and the tag is from PTI's Limitless Labels; the polka dots are the Cornish Heritage Farm's Polka Dot Scrap Block. The rhinestones are by Jolee's Boutique - something new that Mike's is carrying now.
There aren't too many of the other VSN challenges that I felt inspired by, so I think this will be it for this round. There's another round in February that I'll check out. Actually, this is the first time in the past several VSN's that I haven't hostessed a challenge. It's kinda weird being a participant again and not knowing ahead of time what the challenges are. But it's also nice to kinda pick and choose which challenges I want to do.
Thanks for stopping by!
