Runway Inspired Challenge #58 and Cas(E) This Sketch #73!

Hola sweet friends!!

Popping in quickly to post a challenge card that I created for some of my favorite challenges!  The Runway Inspired Challenge is teaming up with the CAS(E) This Sketch team to do a combined challenge, and I have to say the two combined make for a super fun challenge!

RIC58 and CTS73 Graphic

Here’s my take on the two challenges:

RIC58 and CTS73 Happy Birthday

As is almost always the case, I tried to simplify the fashion photo, but I probably should have used a little more black than I did.  I wanted to create something a little unexpected, so I did my “squint my eyes” trick, and lo and behold, I saw a balloon!  LOL  I loved the sketch, so it was perfect for placing the balloon off the edge and trimming it to give the appearance that it’s floating off into the atmosphere!  I pulled the turquoise and blue from the fashion inspiration and threw on some star die cuts.  I feel like this would be a super fun kid birthday card – yes?!  It’s super simple compared to all of the other gorgeous entries for both challenges . . . but it makes me happy, so I’m throwing it out there!  LOL

There’s still several days to play along with both challenges!  You can find the details of both HERE and HERE.

I’ll be popping in again in a few minutes to share a card I created as my first Online Card Class Watercoloring for Card Makers class – I’m sooooo excited about this class, so I can’t wait to get started!  I’ll be back, soon!!

ETA:  I'm also linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Clean & Simple.

You have 'thrown out' another fabulous card! I didn't see a balloon until you mentioned it...so I squinted my eyes and yes,it is soooo there!

Of course, polka dots make me swoon and the wee stars are perfect! Cool how the loops in the twine work perfectly with the loops in the sentiment font!

Love your CAS interpretation of the sketch, and I agree that it would be a perfect card for a kid's birthday. I'm always amazed with the skill to simplify designs with quality. I believe you have all kinds of talents, in particular the one that allows you to squint your eyes and see a balloon; if I do the same it is probably because I need to see... an Ophthalmologist, and that's all! :)
