Avery Elle–Nailed It!

Happy Fri-YAY!!

I’m in Seattle for a double surprise weekend – first for Grandparent’s Day at my grandson’s preschool, and second for my mom’s birthday.  Yes, she was born on April Fool’s Day!  So it’s an added bonus that I get to surprise both of them!  PLUS it’s GORGEOUS here – the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and it’s super warm!!  There’s nothing better than a sunny day in Seattle, I tell ya!

4-1-16-Stoked

Anywho, I’m over on the Avery Elle Blog today sharing this project featuring the new Stoked Stamp Set and coordinating dies.  This set is so stinkin’ fun and creative – it will solve ALL of your teen boy card issues for the rest of your life!  I promise!!  LOL  Here’s how I created this project:

  1. Trim an A2, vertical top-folding card base from Solar White Card Stock.  Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
  2. Stamp the skate boarder from the Stoked Stamp Set onto some Solar White Card Stock using New Moon Dye Ink.  Stamp the sentiment from the Stoked Stamp Set onto the skate board, again using the New Moon Dye Ink.  Color the image with Copic Markers and die cut it using the Stoked Elle-Ments.
  3. Trim an A2 panel from Solar White Card Stock and from Stamping Mask Paper.  Using the Double Pierced Circle Elle-Ments, die cut a circle from the Stamping Mask Paper.  Discard the circle from the mask, remove the release paper from the rest of the mask, and adhere the it to the white panel.  Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, blend some Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed Distress Ink onto the exposed circle.  Carefully remove the mask.
  4. Trim another A2 panel from Solar White Card Stock – die cut it first with the Double Pierced Rectangle Elle-Ments, and then die cut a circle aperture using the Double Pierced Circle Elle-Ments.  Wrap Midnight Hemp Twine around the bottom of the panel and tie it into a bow.  Adhere the die cut panel to the ink blended panel with foam squares, making sure to align the ink blending with the circle opening.  Trim the excess card stock with scissors.
  5. Die cut a panel from Silver Fox Patterned Paper (from the Neutral Collection 6x6 Paper Pad) using the Double Pierced Rectangle Elle-Ments.  Adhere it to the card base with foam squares.  Adhere the image panel to the assembled card base with foam squares.
  6. Adhere the skateboarder to the image panel using foam squares.

DONE!!  Is he not so cute?!!  Pre-teen boys would go bonkers over this guy – and all of the images in this set are just as fun!  Add it to your collection – that is all.  LOL  I’ve listed all of the products that I used below.  I hope you’ll click on through to the Avery Elle Blog for more AE inspiration.

That’s it kids – I’m off to enjoy Grandparent’s Day with my sweet bubba, and dinner with my mom!  Should be a great day!  I hope you have a super great day, as well.  Oh, and thanks so much for stopping by – I love it when you do!

Your mom and our son share the same birthday! I remember calling my mom the day I was going to the hospital to birth our son...and of course, she thought I was playing an April Fool's Day prank on her!

Your card actually captures our son (in is younger days!) perfectly. Gave my heart strings a wee tug remembering his younger days. He just turned 33!!!

Cool card! I LOVE the colors you used on the shaded background!
