Hola crafty friends!!
I’m back today to share a project that I created using some of the products contained in the My Favorite Things May Card Kit – Flashy Florals. I’ve paired some of the contents of the kit with other My Favorite Things products that AREN’T in the kit – hence, the “out of the box” reference. Here’s my project:
KIT PRODUCTS USED:
Flashy Florals Stamp Set
Flashy Florals Die-Namics
Thanks & Hello Die-Namics
Scattered Surface Background Stamp
So I did a hybrid Velveteen Stamping technique on this one, in that I stamped the Scattered Surface Background Stamp onto some Limelight, Periwinkle and Summer Splash Card Stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. Then I stamped the flowers and leaves using two colors of Hybrid Ink to show the details of each image, but the Scattered Surface background still pops through! It’s a super fun technique! Here’s how I created my project:
- Trim an A2, vertical top-folding card base from Sweet Tooth Card Stock. Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
- Die cut a scalloped panel from Vellum using the stitched scallop rectangle from the Blueprints 20 Die-Namics Set. Adhere it to the card base with foam tape.
- Die cut an image panel from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 24 Die-Namics Set. Adhere it to the card base with foam tape.
- Stamp the Scattered Surface Background Stamp onto some Limelight, Periwinkle and Summer Splash Card Stock using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. Stamp the flowers and leaves from the Flashy Florals Stamp Set onto the previously stamped card stocks, first with the lighter of the two hybrid inks (Perwinkle, Summer Splash and Limelight) and then with the darker of the two inks (Grape Jelly, Blu Raspberry, and Gumdrop Green.) Stamp the flower center detail with more Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. Die cut the flowers and leaves using the corresponding Flashy Florals Die-Namics.
- Arrange and adhere the flowers and leaves with foam tape.
- Die cut the thanks word from Silver Sparkle Card Stock, and then from Sweet Tooth Card Stock three additional times. Adhere the layers together with liquid adhesive, making sure to place the silver sparkle die cut on top. Adhere the word die cut to the flowers and leaves with liquid adhesive.
- Die cut some flower centers from Silver Sparkle Card Stock using the pierced circle dies contained in the Blueprints 21 Die-Namics Set. Adhere them to the flower centers with foam tape.

I just love how you used the "background" stamp to add texture to the flowers! :D
Oh wow, beautiful. Love the technique you used.
Love the look of the flowers using the background stamp. Can't wait until 10 to get my kit.
Really like the colors you chose
& that you added the background pattern to all!
This card is so neat. Flowers look like cloth!
Gorgeous! I love the silver accents.
Gorgeous colors!
Love the patterns on the flowers.
Love the beautiful details you packed into this one. Great new kit!
Beautiful card! Love the colours you used!
Love how you did the flowers. So cool.
What a fun card!
I'm really not a fan of the white border on the die cuts. I think stamping on colored cardstock with coordinating inks is fabulous! One of my favorite looks.
Also, stamping the border stamp on the flowers gave them a "fabric feel" love it!
Then of course the glitter...I love glitter!
