Hello my loves!!
Phew!! The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of crazy fun and awesome family time! I hope that you all enjoyed a lovely and blessed holiday! I’m popping in quickly to share a project that I created in answer to the Creative Construction with Blueprints Creative Team Challenge for My Favorite Things! Today’s challenge is all about the shaker cards – SO FUN!!
I knew when I saw the challenge that I wanted to create something using the new Feel Better Stamp Set. My vision was to have the pill bottles “shake”, so this vision was perfect for the Blueprint 29 Die-Namics. Here’s how I created my project:
- Trim an A2, vertical, top-folding card base from Smooth White Card Stock. Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
- Die cut the stitched partitioned rectangle contained in the Blueprints 29 Die-Namics four times from Smooth White Card Stock and once from red polka dot patterned paper (from the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Paper Pack). Adhere a 2” x 3” piece of acetate to the back of the red polka dot layer, behind the 2-part section of the rectangle. Adhere the die cut layers together with Multi Medium Matte adhesive, placing the red polka dot layer on top.
- Stamp the the two pill bottle images and the sentiment from the Feel Better Stamp Set onto the Smooth White die cut negatives (from the previous die cutting in Step 2, above) using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
- Using detail scissors, trim out the “bottle” portions of the two pill bottles, leaving the lids and labels intact. Using the circle heart die from the Blueprints 29 Die-Namics, die cut the pill bottle labels. Die cut the circle heart from the red polka dot patterned paper twice. Adhere the pill bottle stamped images to the acetate panels, and replace the white circle hearts with the red polka dot circle hearts. Adhere them in place with a tape runner.
- Using the scalloped rectangle from the Blueprints 1 Die-Namics, die cut a scalloped rectangle from Smooth White Card Stock. Use the stitched partitioned rectangle to die cut the center of the scalloped panel. The final result will be a scalloped rectangle frame.
- Pour red and clear diamonds into the “pill bottle” partitions. Adhere the card base to the stitched partitioned rectangle to seal up the pill bottles with 1/8” double sided tape adhesive.
- Slide the scalloped rectangle frame over the stitched partitioned rectangle and adhere it to the card base with foam tape.
- Insert the previously stamped sentiment panel into stitched partitioned rectangle using foam tape.
This was super fun to create and really very easy!! Give it a try yourself!! I’ve listed the products that I used below.
That’s it for me today, friends!! I’m catching up on my life after being in Seattle for 10 days – lots of fun was had, but it’s time to get back to real life! Thanks so much for stopping by today – I sure do appreciate it when you do!
