My Favorite Things–All Smiles Card Kit Release!!

Yay!!

The time has finally arrived for the My Favorite Things All Smiles Card Kit to come live with you!!  Get excited because the crafty peeps on the MFT Design Team have one last shot at inspiring you with projects featuring the goodies contained in the All Smiles Card Kit!

So, I was totally inspired by a video that I saw Jennifer McGuire do a few weeks ago, and it was the perfect technique for the solid images from the Plentiful Petals Stamp Set!  Here’s how I created my card:

1. Trim a 4.25” x 11” card base from Smooth White Card Stock.  Score at 5.5”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
2. Stamp the floral images from the Plentiful Petals Stamp Set (included in the All Smiles Card Kit) onto the smooth side of a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of Distress Watercolor Paper using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.  Heat emboss the images using White Embossing Powder.
3. Apply Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean Distress Inks to a 3” x 4” acrylic stamp block.  Spritz the block lightly with water and place the inked up block onto the image panel.  Apply firm pressure and allow the ink to absorb into the watercolor paper, before removing the acrylic block.  Sop up any excess water with a paper towel.
4. Die cut the image panel using the scalloped stitched rectangle from the Blueprints 27 Die-Namics.
5. Die cut the Double the Smiles Die-Namics (included in the All Smiles Card Kit), once from Black Licorice Card Stock, and three times from Smooth White Card Stock.  Adhere the layers together with Multi Medium Matte, placing the black die cut on top.  Adhere the stacked die cut to the image panel using more Multi Medium Matte.
6. Stamp the sentiment from the All Smiles Stamp Set (included in the All Smiles Card Kit) onto some Smooth White Card Stock using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.  Die cut the image using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-Namics.  Adhere the sentiment strip to the image panel using foam squares.
7. Adhere the image panel to the card base using foam squares.
8. Adhere some Sparkling Clear Sequins to the image panel using Multi Medium Matte.

I’ve done this technique before – it provides a super fun and bold pop of color that’s resisted by those solid heat embossed images!  Plus you can create a ton of different color blends that result in some beautiful faux watercolor looks!  I’ve listed and linked all of the products that I used below.
