Hello!
It’s that time again – time to start previewing the August Card Kit from My Favorite Things, and you are going to LOVE it!! Today the team is sharing projects using the contents of the X’s and O’s Card Kit, so we have some super fun stuff for you!
My card for today was inspired by the Rainbow Maker Online Card Class that I took last week. I saw those X’s and O’s in the new kit and knew that I had to try my hand at some repetitive rainbow stamping! All I gotta say is “Thank God for my MISTI!” That’s a lot of stamping, people! But oh how I love the end results! Here’s how I create my card:
- Trim a 5.5” x 8.5” card base from Smooth White Card Stock. Score at 4.25”, fold in half and perfect the crease with a Teflon Bone Folder.
- Trim a 5.5” x 4.25” panel from Smooth White Card Stock. With a pencil and ruler, lightly mark off a 1/2” square grid across the whole panel. Using a MISTI, position the O stamp from the X’s & O’s Stamp Set into the first square. Stamp it using Boysenberry Dye Ink. Slide the panel up 1/2” in the MISTI, and stamp the O a second time, again using Boysenberry Dye Ink. Remove the panel, and flip it to the other side. Stamp the O a third time, slide it up a 1/2”, and stamp it a fourth time, both using Boysenberry Dye Ink. Position the X into the square next to the previously stamped O, and repeat all of the above steps in this instruction, this time using Razzle Berry Dye Ink. Repeat these steps, alternating the X and O, using Orange Zest Dye Ink, Sunshine Dye Ink, Limelight Dye Ink, Summer Splash Dye Ink. Start over again with Boysenberry Dye Ink, until all of the squares are filled in – two rows on the top of the panel, and two rows on the bottom.
- Die cut the outside edge of the image panel using the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 24 Die-Namics. Carefully erase the pencil grid using an eraser. Adhere the image panel to the card base using foam squares.
- Trim 2.5” x 5.25” strip from Smooth White Card Stock. Die cut the bottom and sides of the strip using the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 24 Die-Namics. Reposition the die to cut the top edge of the strip.
- Die cut the Huge Love Die-Namic (the Free with $60 Purchase die), three times from Smooth White Card Stock, and once from Black Licorice Card Stock. Adhere the letters together using Multi Medium Matte adhesive, making sure to place the black letters on top. Adhere the stacked letters to the sentiment strip using more Multi Medium Matte adhesive.
- Adhere the sentiment strip to the image panel using foam squares.
Yes, it’s a ton of stamping, but the satisfaction that I felt when I was done was incredible! The end result was so worth the effort! Rainbows just make me happy! The X’s and O’s Card Kit is super fun, incredibly versatile, and chock o’ block full of amazing crafty goodies! And it can be all yours on Tuesday, August 22nd at 9:00 PM EDT!!
