My Favorite Things–March Card Kit Day 1!

Hello my friends!!

I am soooo happy to be here today to share some super fun projects that I created using this month’s Kit!!  And when I say Kit, I don’t mean a card kit – we have something even more fun in store for you this month!!  If you follow social media and Pinterest at all, you are aware that DIY Party Planning is a HUGE thing!!  Like you can’t just take your kids to Chuck-E-Cheese for their birthday and like we could back in the day!!  So many people go ALL out for their kids’ birthday parties!  And never mind birthday parties, any kind of event planning has been taken to a whole new level!! Well, friends, we’re here to help you and to inspire you to think beyond the simple party and event planning!!  This month’s kit includes a Treat Bag Topper Die-Namic that is an “all-in-one pass” topper that will take your parties and gift giving from blah to BAM! – and it’s super EASY!!  You just use the other stamps and dies that you already have on hand to tie the whole thing together – and then throw in your favorite treats and/or gifts! It’s just that easy!  Today, I have two projects to share with you that I hope you’re going to love, and will set you on your way to creating your own Treat Bag Toppers!

Okay, so my first project was created with my grandson in mind.  He is obsessed with Pokemon!  So, I thought it’d be fun to create a little party favor that he could give to his friends for his 7th Birthday Party!!  I die cut the Treat Bag Topper Die three times – once from Smooth White Card Stock, once from Poppy Card Stock and once from Black Licorice Card Stock.  I used the white one as the base, and then I trimmed the red one down the middle horizontally, and adhered the two together with tape runner.  Then I used the Stitched Basic Edges 2 Die-Namics to die cut a black stitched strip and the Inside & Out Stitched Circle Die-Namics to create the center circle element.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, and die cut some letters from Black Licorice, Poppy and Lemon Drop Card Stock using the Bottlecap Letters Die-Namics to personalize it for my grandson’s party guests!  And in anticipation of this kit release, I’ve been scouring the aisles of the Target Dollar Spot and the Dollar Store for all kinds of fun goodies to fill the bags!!  I found some Pokemon Pens, trading cards and erasers that fit the clear cellophane bag!!  I stapled the Treat Bag Topper to the bag using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher (stapler) just to hold it in place, and then secured the front of the Treat Bag Topper to the bag using 1/4” double-sided tape.  It’s that easy!!

My second project was created for something other than a party or event.  Like I said, I’d been scouring the aisles of the Dollar Store and Dollar Spot for items, and it occurred to me that it would be so fun to create a “get well” bag for a sick friend.  I included a package of tissues, some cough drops, lip balm, Airborne Vitamin C, two different kinds of tea bags and some hand sanitizer!  It all fit perfectly inside the Gusseted Cellophane bag that’s included in the kit!!  The topper was created by die cutting the Treat Bag Topper Die-Namic from Limelight Card Stock.  When you die cut it, it cuts and scores everything you need – you just fold it in half on the provided score lines!  I used the Feel Better Stamp Set and the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set to stamp the sentiment with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I stamped and die cut the pill bottles from Smooth White Card Stock using the Feel Better Stamp Set and coordinating dies, and colored them with my Copic Markers.  I die cut the hearts from Summer Splash Card Stock and Razzle Berry Card Stock, and and adhered them to the pill bottles.  I wrapped some aqua baker’s twine to the handle of the Treat Bag Topper, and adhered the assembled topper to the bag as above.

I’m in LOVE with how versatile and fun this kit is and how it can be used for more than just birthdays and parties!  I’ve listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used on today’s projects below (although the links to the new products won’t be live until they’re released).

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other spectacular projects that my teammates have created for your inspiration using this month’s kit!  While you’re there, why not leave some love along the way for your chance to win a $25 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique!!  It’s a random draw, and there will be a winner chosen for each day of the kit countdown and release – so that’s three chances to win!  This month’s kit will be available for purchase on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM EDT!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  I’ll be back tomorrow with two more projects for this month’s kit to share with you!  I sure hope you’ll come back again soon to check them out! Have a great day!

So Cute! I was thinking the same - instead of candy, use it for something like chapstick, etc.
