My Favorite Things - July Release Countdown Day 5 - Let the Fun Begin!

Hi there!

It's my favorite time of the month again - time to start the countdown to the July release! This month offers up some amazing products that I think you're going to love! Today's project features the new Balloon Bundle Stamp Set and the coordinating Balloon Bundle Die-Namics.

Okay, so when I saw the Balloon Bundle Stamp Set, I immediately thought of someone holding that bundle of balloons! So I created an arm and a hand to hold the balloon strings! Can you see it?! I stamped the Balloon Bundle Stamp onto some watercolor paper using some VersaMark Ink and then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I used the coordinating Balloon Bundle Die-Namics to die cut the image out. Since the stamped image doesn't have the strings bunched together like I envisioned, so I trimmed the die cut strings away from the balloons with my scissors. Then I faux-watercolored the balloons using a water brush and several dye inks smooshed onto an acrylic palette. This is a super easy way to add some vibrant color to give the look of watercolor! While the balloons dried, I did some light ink blending using the Oval Extraordinaire Stencil and some Summer Splash Dye Ink.  Once the balloons were dried, I adhered some white baker's twine strings to the back of the image with some tape.  And then I adhered the balloons to the image panel with foam squares, leaving the strings dangling. For the arm, I trimmed some striped paper from the Black & White Stripes 6 x 6 Paper Pack into a strip. Then I trimmed some Natural card stock slightly thinner than the striped strip. I used the circles die from the Launch Party Die-Namics (if you don't have that set of dies, you could use a 1/2" circle punch to punch two circles) from Natural card stock. I temporarily adhered the second circle to a strip so that I could trim off part of the circle to make a fist. I assembled the arm and the hand (minus the fist) using tape runner adhesive and foam squares. I adhered a glue dot to half the hand, and pulled the strings so that they adhered to the hand. Then I added another glue dot to the back of the fist, and adhered that on top of the strings to give the appearance that the hand is holding the bundle of balloons! Now do you see it?! I stamped the sentiment from the Balloon Bundle Stamp Set above the arm using some Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. Lastly, I applied a coat of clear gloss to each of the balloons to make them shiny. I was pretty pleased with my ability to make my vision a reality! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below (although the links to the July products won't be live until the release.)

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other terrific projects that my fellow teammates have created for you using today's featured new products! And while you're there, sure and leave a comment for your chance to win a $75 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique - there's a winner for every day of the countdown leading up to the release! But you can't win if you don't comment! All of the July Release Products will be available for purchase on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM EDT!

That'll do it for me today, kids! I'll be back again tomorrow with another countdown project for your viewing pleasure! Until then, thanks for stopping by, stay safe and have a great day!

At first i thought you did something special with your paints/markers/something to make the balloons appear shiny. Then I realized you really did do something special and they ARE shiny! How cool. Thanks for sharing.
