My Favorite Things - July Release Countdown Day 4 - More Cute Sneak Peeks!

Hello again!

I'm back today with more stamping cuteness from the upcoming July Release! Today's project features the new Cherry On Top Stamp Set, and the Ice Cream Cone Die-Namics!

I'm so excited about that ice cream cone! It's a great addition to the MFT stand-alone die collection! In fact, this month's release includes several different tasty treat stand-alone dies - sooooo much fun! So I kept this pretty simple, to make the ice cream cone and the fabulous sentiment from Cherry On Top Stamp Set the star of the show! I die cut the ice cream from Smooth White card stock and ink blended some rainbow sherbet (my fave!) I die cut the cone from Kraft card stock, and before I removed the die cut from the die, I used a dauber and some Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink to enhance the embossing that occurs when you die cut the cone! I performed a bit of stamp surgery to remove the word "cherry" from the sentiment (although I didn't need to do that - I could have masked it off) I temporarily positioned the ice cream cone on the trimmed white panel, which helped me figure out where I wanted each part of the sentiment to be located. Then I lifted the sentiment up with my Mini MISTI, removed the ice cream cone, inked up the sentiment with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, and stamped it onto the white panel. I left the sentiment in place on my MISTI, temporarily re-adhered the ice cream cone where I wanted it located, and inked up the sentiment and stamped it again on top of the ice cream cone! Then I adhered the ice cream cone in place with some foam squares! I stamped the cherry from the Cherry On Top Stamp Set onto some watercolor paper using black pigment ink, and I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I faux-watercolored it using Wild Cherry and Jellybean Green Dye Inks and a watercolor brush. I fussy cut the cherry, and placed it strategically on top of the ice cream and added some clear sequins! I adhered some striped paper from the Over the Rainbow 6 x 6 Paper Pack to an A2 Smooth White card base, and adhered the image panel to the card base using foam squares! In hindsight, I wish I had added some sparkle or gloss to the cherry - that would've added a little bit more pizzazz to it! But all in all, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out! I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below (although the links to the new July products won't be available until the release!)

Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the other fabulous projects that my fellow teammates have created for you! And while you're there, be sure and leave a comment for your chance to win a $75 Gift Voucher to the MFT Online Boutique! There's a winner for every day of the Countdown, but you have to comment in order to have a chance to win! All of the July release products will be available for purchase on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM EDT!

That's it for me today! I'll be back again tomorrow with another July release countdown project! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
